That's super sweet! Congrats!

I think you're very very polite. I'd probably would have been less polite than you.

Do you think that's a bad thing or it is okay? It's just I don't see the point of sounding too angry if I don't want to return them.

Pony Corral / Re: For those of you who got into ponies with G4...
« on: May 21, 2015, 03:00:53 AM »
I got into the G4 cartoon and bought the Mane 6. Then I liked buying them, so I bought all the other characters available at the time. Then I had them all and still wanted to buy more. I found a G3 in a charity shop and for a while debated whether I actually wanted it. I ended up giving it to my sister, but after a couple of months I decided I'd like it back. So I got it back, and searched for ponies on eBay. I found G3 Precious Gem, and thought she looked lovely. So I begged my mum to let me buy her, and she did (I was too young to buy ponies by myself at the time xD). After Precious Gem arriving, and finding another G3 at a market, I decided I'd really like a G1. There was something about them that drew me in. I've always liked old things so it was probably that. Searched eBay, and found a Moonstone. She was perfect! I (again) begged my mum to let me buy her and she did. I waited for days for her to arrive, I was so excited. When she arrived I couldn't stop touching her and smelling her. I couldn't believe I had her! And then, yeah, I just ended up buying tonnes after that xD

I seem to have the worst luck with buying plushies on eBay at the moment xD I ordered the trio of hyenas from The Lion King for £75 (which, considering they're usually around £30-35 each, is actually a good price). Anyway, the listing was very vague and didn't really say anything other than how big they were, but I took a chance and bought them anyway as they're highly sought after and I didn't want to miss out.

They arrived this morning, all in one parcel but in individual clear bags. The first thing I notice is that two of them have their labels cut off. That's no big deal, I can live with that (although it wasn't mentioned or pictured). Then when I actually got them out of the bags, I noticed that one of them was in significantly worse condition than the other two. He's quite clearly been put in the washing machine despite them being surface wash only toys. He's floppier than them, and his fur isn't as soft, and he has a few paint stains on him. Also, both his neck and leg have clearly come open and been restitched. The other two are absolutely fine though.

I don't want to send them back or anything but I just feel like this is something the seller should have mentioned in the listing, as it's a rather noticeable defect. I'm just wondering what I should say to them. This is what I came up with, but I don't know whether or not to request a partial refund at this point or wait to hear their response:

"Hi there,

These arrived this morning. Ed and Shenzi are good but Banzai is in noticeably worse condition than them. I've found multiple flaws with him:

- He's floppy and feels as though he's been through a washing machine.
- His neck and one of his legs looks like they've been torn and restitched.
- He has a few white paint looking marks that I can't remove.
- His label/tag has been severed off (this is the case with Shenzi too actually but everything else with her is fine)

I'd still like to keep them because as I said, Ed and Shenzi are great and I don't want to split them up. I would have just preferred to know before I bought them, as it wasn't mentioned in the listing and I was under the impression that they'd all be in similar good condition. I have attached photos of all the flaws.

Sorry to complain, I really hate complaining unless I feel I have to.

I look forward to your response.

Skye x"

Does that sound okay? Do you think asking for a partial refund would be appropriate (not even sure if you can do that on eBay)? I still want the toys, I just expected them all to be in good condition.

Here are a couple of pics - you can quite clearly see that he sits floppier than the other two (he's the middle one)

Pony Corral / Re: "Must Have" Ponies: Perception vs. Reality...

1. Who is your most "valuable" / proud moment / grail-y pony?
Ice Crystal - out of all the ponies I've bought he was the one I was most excited for as I got him really cheap and you know, that kind of stuff is exciting xD

2. Who is your favorite pony?
Baby Leafy. I know he's a cow and not a pony but he's my favourite all the same.

3. Who do you think the most sought after pony is? (Apparently it's not Rapunzel  )
Mimic? Or perhaps the TAF babies? I'm not sure.

4. If you could advise the entire community to add one pony to their collection, who would that pony be and why do you think he or she is special / beautiful / unique?
Either Jazzie or Chief. Both of those ponies have such unique characteristics that they don't blend in at all. Yes, Jazzie is part of a set of three in exactly the same pose, however I think her colours make her stand out the most. She's so vibrant. As for Chief, his accessories and overall theme are just the cutest thing.

5. Who is your most wanted pony, right here right now?
Hmm, there's no pony I'm actively seeking out at the moment but I'd like Surprise. And Mummy Berrytown.

6. Do you collect individual ponies or do you collect by set?
Generally I collect individuals, but often once I have one of a set I often like to collect the others too (happened with the Rollerskate ponies, Big Brothers, Mountain Boys and Family ponies xD)

7. Would you rather have one rare pony or a few new less expensive ones? (All ponies in good condition and bought for their proper worth)
To be honest it depends on what ponies they are. If someone said "You can have Rapunzel or these few more common ones" I'd pick Rapunzel. But if it was a rare pony I wasn't interested in buying, such as Mimic or Sweet Scoops, I'd go for the more common ones.

I would most likely send my seller a polite message and explain your concerns, as you did here. If the item was not received in the condition that is was described, you have every right to question her, even if she was nice. She may have a reasonable solution for you, ex. perhaps a partial refund or a full refund upon return of the toy.

I see you say the toy is HTF, how hard to find is it? Is the price you paid a price for one in mint condition? Just curious?

I might have to do this. I just feel bad as she seemed very sad to be selling it and was relieved to find she'd found someone who would appreciate it (in her words). Only thing I'm concerned about saying is the fact that it smells, lots of people get offended if you tell them something they sent you smells funny. I have a feeling it might actually be the scent of her house.

I think so, as I recently bought the other one (in fact, the more sought after of the pair) in mint condition for less than I paid for this one. It's a Disneyland Paris exclusive which is why they're hard to get hold of.

Can I have some advice? I bought a soft toy from somebody on ebay who listed it as new because it still had the tag attached. I could tell that she didn't really want to sell it from the item description, she was very reluctant to let it go. The only flaw she mentioned was a small blue mark and that it had received "the odd cuddle". She was also extremely nice to me in messages before it arrived. However it came today, and to be honest it's just not in the condition I was expecting. It's got another mark which she didn't mention (I'm not suggesting she did this on purpose, she may have not nptcord it), it's lost it's fluffyness (feels like it's been handled a lot) and it also smells kind of weird, like cheese? I feel like I should say something because I paid a high amount for it expecting it to be in very good condition, but she's been so nice to me and I know she didn't really want to sell it so I feel really bad saying anything. On top of that these are quite htf so id be reluctant to send it back considering ive been looking for one for ages. What would you do in this situation?
