Hey everyone!

I've received a few enquiries recently asking how much I will sell my custom for and I'm really struggling with deciding on how much to charge. I'm wondering how you lovely customisers calculate how much to charge for your work? I find myself feeling guilty for asking for 'too much' but considering the 40 - 60 hours that goes into making them it's difficult to part with them!!

In other news I've finally finished my Cherry Blossom custom! She came to me as a baity Snowflake, with some serious dark cancer on one leg and rump - I really need to start taking 'before' photos of my ponies! Polymer clay tree and flowers were hand sculpted to cover all cancer spots. Pink has always been my least favourite to work with and I'm happy she's finally finished!

I'm terrible at full-body repaints - unsure if it's a lack of patience or skill (probably both)!!

I get around this problem by choosing baits that are already a colour which I want. It's difficult sometimes, I have an abundance of pink bait ponies and finding specific baits in green or yellow is harder but it'll have to do until I get enough spare cash for an airbrush!

I've seen some ponies which have been dyed and they look amazing - but heard too many horror stories of the colour fading over time and uneven coverage, depending on the state of the plastic. It would be so sad to make an amazing custom only to have parts of it fade over time - especially if you're selling them.

I read somewhere recently that creating a gradient look is easier with a make-up sponge?? Picked up one from Kmart the other day for about $2 and I plan to have a go on my next project, if I ever finish my current one that is lol...

Everybody seems to have their own particular way of customising though, keep at it and you'll find something that works for you Acetone will take any paint off so if you don't like it you can always clean it off and start again

I'm relieved that this lady is finally finished!

I started this custom with no real plan in mind and it was a struggle to get through. Add-ons were sculpted with polymer clay and the eyes were re-painted. The mane is a nightmare, I stupidly stuffed way too much hair in there and most of the hair plugs split open Such a rookie mistake! The weird looking headpiece was a last minute addition to cover a split in her poor head!

Aww thank you! I'm happy to hear you liked her, Autumn Spell is one of my personal favourites, too! I really enjoyed making her.

I've forgotten how much I enjoyed customising, it's been great to dust everything off and get back into it!

Currently don't have ponies for sale anywhere, have a FB account for them and recently started an Insta page also, the few I've sold previously have been arranged by PM... What do you guys do with yours?
