Pony Corral / Re: Eeks!!! Look what happened to my ponies!!!
« on: June 29, 2012, 01:42:06 PM »
Omg!! I had a very similar problem with my ponies! Mine were in storage for a similar amount of time however mine were kept in a big plastic bag! Eep! But! There were no major issues. A few spots of mold that's it. However when I moved house I transported them all in a luggage holder and they were left in that and quite tightly packed. I was soo stupid! Some of my beloved ponies had got black faint ink streaks were the casing had obviously imprinted on their vinyl!!! I was absoutely distraught! Funnily enough, I also had a mint Locker that got marked up very badly :-(. I think though, they fade easily un sun so going to try that as soon as some sun hits the UK ;-)

Pony Corral / Re: "What happened in your childhood?"
« on: June 29, 2012, 03:11:01 AM »
Reading these stories is very interesting (and awful with those sadder of tales :-() and on many levels  I can relate. However, luckily my childhood was fairly normal and I think my collecting is purely to hold on to those good old days of innocence and old fashion fun with toys. Nowadays you don't see many ten year olds playing with toys anymore. It's more about computers and iphones lol. Having ponies as friends was a great source of escapism for me. I used to get so mad when my sis wanted to stop playing!
Not many of my friends know about my collecting though, but I honestly dont feel the need to tell them. My housemate obviously knows but she won't allow me to display them lol. Hence I need a bigger place! I suppose im lucky that I have my sister to collect with and have pony chats too! :-)
I don't think anyone should be ashamed of what gives them joy when it comes to collecting! I think its amazing that my little ponies still have that affect on people no matter what age!  ^.^

Pony Corral / Pony Storage tips
« on: June 27, 2012, 04:50:52 AM »
Hello Pony-folk :D
I really need some pony storage tips as I currently don't have the room to show off my collection at the moment! Whats the best way to package the dears up so they are safe and free of mould etc? Anyone got any tips/disaster stories to share ^.^ I don't have a lot of money either so, expensive storage solutions are pretty much out of the question ;)

For Trade / Mummy meadowsweet anyone??? ON HOLD
« on: June 26, 2012, 06:28:23 AM »
Hello pony-peeps! I've got two mummy meadowsweets (UK loving family pony) and only require one, so I'm wondering, instead of trying to sell, if anyone wanted to trade with me? I think if you've got anything from my want list, I would consider trading :-). Post up pics of her later (at work atm!) But her mane has faded. Thought id mention. :-) thankies!

Pony Brag Arena / Re: Omg look who i just won!
« on: June 22, 2012, 05:22:07 PM »
She is quite lovely and looks to have her original curl!  :)

FYI - Some of the info in Debra Birge's books is outdated, since at the time we didn't have places like the Arena to share/compare info worldwide.  Goldilocks is not terribly common, but isn't really rare either.  Rapunzel is very rare though and can command hundreds of dollars.  Once Hasbro ran out of Rapunzels, they substituted the orders with Goldilocks.  Here is a good website (run by one of our members) that is a pretty good price guide for G1s.  Good luk!

Pony Corral / Flutter pony wings
« on: June 16, 2012, 03:44:28 AM »
Hello everyone ^.^
Just a quick question. Does anyone know of a company.site that sell original or close to original flutter pony wings? Also, does the value of the pony go down with new wings attached or would they be worth the same as if they didn't have the wings?
Thankies :D

Pony Corral / Re: MLP 1985 Annual - Royalty and Mythology - PICS
« on: June 16, 2012, 03:38:50 AM »
Ohhh! I have this annual! I remember reading this story when i got my annual off eBay and thought how pretty the artwork was! I have a few other annuals also, but I believe they are a UK/euro thing as Hathorcat said. I haven't seen any from the US.
