Pony Corral / Did anyone ever find the Gold Loyal Subjects Pony?
« on: October 02, 2018, 09:03:40 PM »
I suppose we may never know if someone finds the Gold Loyal Subjects Pony. I imagine she'll never even be found and will instead languish in her box at the back of a stock room, perhaps forever.

I always thought it was pretty odd to release a ooak blind boxed figure in the first place.

Am I recalling correctly that the MLP Loyal Subjects line got cancelled and there will never be more waves released?

Seems like I'm the only one who watched the entire first season...?
My partner and I found it enjoyable, can't help but think of Callum as the new Sokka (same voice actor and similar humour). I'm keen to see where it goes. ^.^

Oh wow, I did not realise that's what these ponies were, thanks for sharing with us.
I love those desk toys, I used to have a liquid hourglass and a cute little penguin floating on an iceberg paperweight. ^.^

Pony Corral / Re: How Many G4 Collectors Left?
« on: September 18, 2018, 07:07:40 PM »
I'd actually say my G4 collecting has increased since the change to the new G4.5 molds. It's for a variety of reasons. I certainly enjoy the new designs and dynamic poses, buy it's also got a lot to do with international postage prices increasing again and again, making G4 more accessible than G1.

What a gorgeous collection! I looked these up a few years ago because I stumbled upon one by accident in a thrift/craft shop, someone had used it to make a Christmas decoration by putting it in the middle of a wreath. It's super sweet so I bought it immediately not knowing what it was, I would collect more but I really shouldn't lol.

Off Topic / Re: Do you drink the water where you live?
« on: September 09, 2018, 10:00:25 AM »
Never lived somewhere with unsafe water, grew up drinking tap water that was probably a little contaminated by our terrible pipes though. Moved to a home with rainwater, a different taste I started to prefer, made me realise the other water tasted 'dusty'. Where I live now I find the tap water just fine, I prefer not to drink bottled water (tastes strange to me) and can't be bothered with filters either. My partner is still adjusting to drinking tap after growing up with rain lol.

I saw her a lot on eBay only a couple of years ago, from Chinese sellers. It looked like old factory stock or something, it was really weird to see so many of the same pony brand new, being sold mint condition sealed in plastic bags.

Trader & Shipping Support / Re: How have you sold or shipped playsets?

I think selling locally is the best option, but I can't help but add my experience for the shock value. I had my PE w/ original box posted to me from the US for roughly $60-80, through the GSP! I almost didn't believe the seller but wasn't going to question it, I'd never have been able to get one otherwise.

Pony Corral / Re: Okay, I would love to know ~your~ mark.

My ponysona Tulips' mark is a triskelion with tulips inspired by my favourite pony Posey and my Celtic heritage. I feel like it represents me well in an ambiguous, many facets of my soul, kind of way. I love animals and art but didn't want something like paw prints or a paint brush...

Customs / Re: advice in avoiding acrylic paint bleed?
« on: September 01, 2018, 05:29:21 PM »
She looks like she got spanked hard, her bum is so red.

 :lmao:

I shouldn't laugh, just the way you worded it was so funny.

I'm sorry your ponysona hasn't aged well. I've had some customs ruined by red paint bleeding, perhaps some professional customizers will have advice on how to restore and prevent red pigment leaking.

Sometimes I will paint the area in black first and then go over it with red.  I've had the red bleed into white paint before which is why I use a black undercoat.  I do know that if you use mod podge to seal the paint the red paint bleeds into the mod podge, so definitely don't use that.

Not just mod podge, my brand of sealant likes to suck bleeding red pigment towards it too. I'd be interested to know if there are any sealants that lock it down good, or work better with certain paint brands. Thanks for the tip on using a black base coat, I'll have to remember that!

As a child I had one opportunity to play a Spyro game at a relative's house when visiting, I loved it! But our family only had Nintendo and my parents wouldn't buy a PlayStation for a single game. So when I heard it was getting remastered I think I was more excited than my partner who did grow up with the games lol.
