Good point, Moonbeam. I'm personally not a fan of collecting the Funko ponies, but there are a lot of really beautiful ones. There's also the chibi ponies and other vinyl figures. Talk about cute!!!!!! I think those chibs are what I'm going to ask for as my Christmas gift since I'm already being bothered about it.  :devious:

Most people's issue seems to lie with the variation of official Hasbro brushables in comparison to previous generations. Yes, there are tons of other types of g4 products that are totally fabulous but the lack of ponies found in your average store shelves is what highlights this problem.

If it's like the 50ยข Up Up and Away I managed at an Estate sale or another really good deal, yesssssss. My collection is pretty exclusive but I don't mind adding a new pony if they're one I like and have the ability to see in person.

Hoping for a miracle before she sells!

This is a big reason why people start looking for prototypes and leaks/fakies. It just gets old seeing the same thing over and over.
I imagine kids also lose interest but just move into the next colourful thing and get sucked back in when there's a new pony related thing.
I don't think the current strategy is helping the MLP legacy at all. Third gen had a huuuuge list of characters... What's going on with this? The cartoon is so popular with tons of characters. Is it that much effort to make them when they have already been designed in the show? Are they truly keeping people engaged?

I'm glad this all worked out!!!!
I had been reading in hopes it would turn out well and it's a relief that you didn't have to deal with her potentially (???) trying to scam you AND got your refund! Depending on the pony, a bit of time to sunfade should do the trick but that might need a thread of its own to hopefully rescue this lot and give them the home they deserve.

They sort of creep me out but I'll have to wait to see them in someone's actual posed photos before fully judging.  :lookround:

I went back a few pages and the amount of G4 prototypes I want and missed out on (sold too fast!!!!) make me so envious!!
They're the only thing still keeping me into G4 ponies. :devious:

Search "Horse" on Aliexpress and narrow it down to the toys category. Hope this helps.

Thanks for the tip! I've always been a little nervous of Aliexpress after hearing horror stories about them from like 5 years back - has their buyer protection improved at all? :P

LOL, very first result is something I bought on eBay, but for half the price. Dangit!!

They have substantially improved their buyer protection, actually. :o
Just be sure to have a good look at all the sellers with the same item and choose one who has had consistent good feedback. :)

Always always always ask for a photo of the inside of the ponies head. Not everyone is so forthcoming and some people genuinely don't know so it's tricky as some sellers will get defensive and think you're questioning their intent. If you don't know, you can always ask here.

I've only ever had it happen once, only to discover it was a factory rehair which made me like her even more!! :o

I found out when I was going over it with a baby wipe and the paint started coming off.

EEEEEK!! :drunk:

OMG Kit Kat  ... That's so sad and so sweet.

I hope we never stop discovering things in this mystery-filled pony world of ours. I have friends in various countries around the world and they're always keeping me in mind when they go to stores where a gem might be found. I've had a friend in Asia find a few little oddities that I may have to post soon. :devious:

Fluttershy on blue body with Trixie eyes

Technically, "Trixieshy" has Rarity's eye decals, not Trixie's. (Rarity eyes have eyeliner and more eyelashes at the top, whereas Trixie's have four lashes at the top and three on the bottom, and no eyeliner. Different eye colour, too.)
Oops never noticed since I don't own Trixie!
So she's a mix of three instead of two.. Neat.
