« on: February 23, 2018, 09:06:41 AM »

This is the list of backcard stories we still need to original English texts for:

1999
Flash
Satin Slipper

2000
Romantica/ Dainty Dove
Polka & Dot
Jewel & Sparkle
Sweetheart & Trueheart
Carriage with Sky Skimmer & Fleur

Secondly, I am also looking for scans of the following cards :)
Fire & Flame - pending
Castle Sweet Berry
Golden Light  (mine is discolored)
Kitchen Sweet Berry
Ballroom Morning Glory
Moonshadow (1998)

These are the ones I think I have MIB/MOC.  Do you still need them?  Thought I'd check before I dig them out- not super accessible ATM!

I think my one concern with the project, if I have one, is that, knowing that a pony was probably sacrificed to create the moulds used

If I remember correctly, I don't think a pony was destroyed.  At least, not in later cases as the project was requesting baits (most likely because hair probably would be ruined) and they said the pony would survive the process!

I am so excited about the HQG1C ponies!  I've been collecting G1s for pretty much my whole life and, within the last few years, have mostly completed my collection since I don't care much for later gens.  That was a HUGE bummer because I just didn't have much reason to continue to be active in the pony community or do much with my collection.  This project has given me a renewed interest and love of ponies all over again!

Are they a bit pricey?  Yes.  But I understand the reasons and, for me, it's worth it since I have so very little else G1 related to buy!
For me, these are customs not so unlike the ones people repaint and rehair and post right here on the Arena.  And some of those go for way more than $25.  These are ponies specifically for collectors designed by collectors.  The fact that there is more than one identical pony means more people get to enjoy them!

Overall, it seems like harmless fun.  Much like collecting in general.

UPDATE:  HELP RECEIVED!  THANKS, ARENA!!!

Hey all!  I want to buy this Sailor Moon diamond picture thing for my sister in law from AliExpress (link in spoiler).  I don't know anything about the website/company and I'm honestly not comfortable with providing my credit card information.  If someone has some good feedback here, an account there, and is willing to buy it, I'd pay you $20 (you would make $5.95!).

Yep.  I have to do the math, every time!  I’m usually within a year or two if I have to say it off the top of my head.

Wow, himmie!  I LOVE IT!  Your floors are gorgeous!  Do you have close ups?  I really like how you do MIP items in the back and the puzzles on the top is genius!  I might have to steal that idea!

BUMP for adding loose ponies!

himmie- I can't wait to see yours all done!  LOVE your cabinets!  ;)

how many ponies do you have

NOT NEARLY ENOUGH!  LOL!  The loose ponies are the US releases (minus MO Sweet Scoops) and the widely released Internationals like the Mountain Brothers.  My collections from those 2 "sets" are nearly complete.  I also collect G2s and have 10-15 or so more of those that I need for a complete collection.  Not sure how many that is!

Oh, I don't want any one to be discouraged by my setup.  Please don't be!  I got my first pony when I was around 3 and was still getting them as gifts until I was in the third grade.
In the 6th grade, G1s were no longer being produced so I started getting them at garage sales and antique shops back when you could find them EVERYWHERE.  I've been acquiring/buying/collecting for 30 years!  I love my pony room but with a toddler and a new baby on the way, I might have to put a lot of it in storage.  So, things always change!

Pony room thread!!   :frolic:

I love seeing how other people display their collections whether big or small!  Also enjoy seeing what else people collect in among the shelves!  SO MANY COLORS!!

Here's my room!  Makes me want to go curl pony hair or something...

Understand that customizing is more work than it is fun!  Rewarding in the end, but lots of time and effort to make something good.
