Pony Corral / Re: New 35th Anniversary Collector Ponies Spotted! Pics!

I just checked if these are in stock near my ZIP code on Brickseek. My local store which was listed as sold out a few days ago (I know it was because I got the case!) is now showing them as in stock. Perhaps a new shipment has already come? Can anyone else check to see if a store they knew was sold out has changed to in stock?

Eta: None of the other stores showing out of stock has changed. So I'm not sure why my store seemingly has.

Pony Corral / Re: Do you have a pony travel buddy?
« on: January 10, 2018, 07:28:33 AM »
I don't really have a little pony traveling companion anymore, although I used to carry some little ones around with me. One of the first things my boyfriend noticed about me when he first saw me was a little Applejack sticking out of my pocket - that early one from the set with molded hair ponies, AJ, Pinkie, Twilight, Spike and Celestia. She was my favorite pony, my first pony, and I had just moved to a new city 1,000 miles from anyone I knew, so I needed her comfort. Later on an Applebloom blindbag would travel with me because I thought she was cute. I never really wanted to bring actual, full sized ponies with hair, because their hair would get messed up in my bag.

Now my travel buddy is a small stuffed dog that we rescued. He was tied to a balloon and hanging in a tree for a year, so we saved him (and cleaned him!!) Before we rescued him, we would call it the "Intrepid Explorer", like he flew in from some far away land and got stuck in the tree. So it's fitting that he explores with me now.

I took some pics of the box, but they aren't too pretty ^^; Apologies for the messy work area. There's no logo on the box, just things like barcodes, country of origin, UPC and DPCI code, etc. The other two sides don't have any text on them.

One of the boxes in that last one is empty because Blossom's been keeping me company :) I will probably keep the rest in their boxes and in this cardboard box, because it is such a perfect container and will keep them from getting damaged. I'mm even considering seeking out a second Blossom to keep MIB, so I can have a full set in box. Hopefully that won't be too ambitious, since it seems most people are after Minty, Butterscotch and possibly Snuzzle?

My boyfriend was working today and has been lying to me all day! I sent him the DPCI code someone posted here to check their stock, but he said they didn't come in yet. He just got home and surprised me with the entire case, still in the cardboard box from the factory! Today was such a horrible day otherwise, it is such a needed pick-me-up.

I didn't know who to unbox, but I decided on Blossom. Because I just realized that I don't actually have a full set of the original six ponies (??) and the one I'm missing is Blossom! Apparently I've got Lemon Drop in her place in my collection, lol. I just assumed LB was one of the original six.

I have the flat foot version I found at Goodwill. I love love love her colors, I think she's my favorite of the original six :)

Thanks to the MN pony meet last month, I also have the full original six, but I wasn't around for the 25th anniversary set so I can't help but be excited. If these do well, they may do other ponies too. Like how the 25th anniversary had tge rainbow ponies too...And now they're more easy for people to buy because they're not in bigger packs. Individually, I can see parents buying these for the nostalgia and not being halted by the price too much.

Pony Corral / Re: Anyone Else Kind Of Iffy About Continuing To Watch FIM?
« on: December 31, 2017, 06:23:01 AM »
I became spotty in my watching around season six, and I barely watched season 7. The other day I was looking for something to watch and put on the episodes where Applejack's a fashion judge and tge one about the princesses. It was hard to watch because everyone has gotten so sarcastic, sassy and nasty sounding. Or just very overexaggerated. It's kinda painful to see.

I typically work on Saturdays, but can request it off once the date's announced. So all options are equally as convenient :) I like Medley and think she is a good choice!

I wonder of the fact that we have all seen this concept art (if it is that) has doomed it to not being used.

Spoiler
It's not that they want to kill AJ because she's too hard to write for, they want to kill her because of her association with anything "country, farm or hick" (taken from the email...) I don't think Hasbro cares in any meaningful capacity that the writers have more of a challenge accommodating a story around her character. My guess is they don't feel a farm pony is appealing anymore, especially since they're throwing around the idea of turning her into a scrappy, tough urban girl who has to act harder because she's small. It feels like they're trying to respond to the current climate, and they want a champion of the underdog-type. AJ is my favorite, so it makes me sad that apparently she's too farm-y and horsey, which is silly. But the idea of her being a tough city pony is interesting, it's just hard to see at this point. Interested to see where she goes...

Thank you ponyqueen for hosting such a great meetup, it was really fun! And thank you to everyone for being so welcoming :) Both Erick and I enjoyed meeting you all. Special thank you to ponyqueen for letting us into your home, ponyqueen, ponyking and Aurora for helping us out when we must have looked lost, and Gusty for the ponies you sold me - with Minty and Snuzzle, I've completed the original set :D I'm glad everyone liked the cupcakes, and the sloth bags lol. I am looking forward to the next meetup, and would love to talk sewing!

Blackfrost, I'm glad your mom is feeling better, and I hope they stay on the up and up for her!

Hi guys, Erick and I are running behind a bit! I lost the bag with my dice game gifts, so we needed to stop at Five Below and I'm wrapping in the car.
