I'm skeptical about Hasbro's response too. Did the guy mean simply nope it's not a legit product- full stop, never ever - or did he mean it's not a product because he got the MLP department to flip the catalogue and it is not one of the ponies listed for this season of release?

The other day I was in a thrift store and bought a g3. The lady at the counter said that ponies were popular today since I was the second or third person that day to buy a my little pony. So I'm wondering, are there any ponies who live near Coorparoo in Brisbane? I need to know my competition! Seriously though, I'm just curious :)

Cheers!

Well no, but I once bought a Baby Dancing Butterflies from a lady who was lucky to find it at the Salvos in the Valley for $5. She sold it to me at AU$50. I felt dumb for a while because I stayed like 15mins bus ride from the valley at Butterfield Street in Herston, and the lady was actually from somewhere in zone4.

Yeah I live near, but I can never find any ponies ._. So there must be a butt load of us hiding out. I posted a pony get together thing for brissy but I don't think anyone was really interested.

I offered to meet up when I'm visiting Brisbane end of this month!

Wow congrats! I have so many of those in my plans but haven't had time to make yet:) I love buttons! They're all so cute:)

Yeah I LOVE them. I enjoy my G1-G4s a lot more than the current main line. The best part is lots of Hasbro G4s provide the right body colours for all my G1 needs. I am waiting for Lyra to be released to make Fizzy!Hopefully there'll be a crazy uni to make Speedy in the future. Still missing a proper Moondancer and Gusty. I'm so glad I can't afford to go to the pony fair this year, or I'll have to sleep under the bridge. There's bound to be people making G1-G4 customs for sale and I will GOTTA CATCH 'EM ALL! lol

In my great scheme of things, I will want to own some G2-G4 ponies eventually. Pinkie Pie makes  a perfect Sun Sparkle, but she's not high on my priority list yet. Oh my G4 collection will never end!

Hey all,
I'd like to share the wonderful stuff that arrived at my door step just before Easter arrives. I've commissioned Ren-ren and SDTang to make my some G1 ponies as G4s, and coincidentally they arrived at the same time. I guess I'll let pictures speak for themselves!
Ribbon & Twilight - both by Ren-ren

Buttons (by Ren-ren) hanging out with my Lofty (made for me by Buffy)

Unicorn Sweetpop by SDTang. I looooovvveeee her! She's now in the blue uni clique with Dewdrop & Snowcatcher. She's kind of pretty even without her TE eyes. I am still considering if I should.

SDTang made me a TE Sweetpop when the G4s just came out, but now I want a Sweetpop without forelock as well, so now I have twins ^.^ One can never have too many Sweetpops!

Last but not least, Galaxy by Ren-ren. She has her jewel eyes now, so she can offically hangout with a real TE pony!

This is my existing G1 family, now they have more friends. xD Can't wait to own MORE!

Do you guys mind if I add some of that info to the site?

It's definitely been more than 5 months since I used it on Tickles, Confetti, and Majesty and I haven't seen anything weird happen.  It probably never would have occurred to me to give them a peroxide soak then sunfade them too.  I'll just wait and see if anything weird pops up.  I've never soaked a pony, taken it out for awhile, then soaked it again.  I have no idea if that would have any negative effects.

If peroxide is really bad for plastic, then the hair bleaches and such that people are using to un-yellowify playsets and accessories would be bad for them too.

Goldenclopper, if you can find that article I would definitely add it to my site.  I did a quick google search for "harmful effects of hydrogen peroxide on plastics" and didn't come up with anything.  Similar search for vinyl and still nothing but I did find this:  "It is anti-bacterial and anti-microbiological, and is used in many medical and industrial applications as a sanitiser and steriliser. Hydrogen Peroxide breaks down into oxygen and water over a fairly short period of time. It uses the oxidising (burning) effect to kill biological contaminants. It is highly effective because bacteria and fungi cannot mutate and form resistance to it."

The fact that it breaks down into oxygen and water doesn't particularly concern me.  If some ponies do fine sunfading, but others burn, then it would make sense that different ponies would have different reaction to peroxide soaks, with some burning.  I've never left any of my ponies soaking in peroxide/sun for more than a day so I don't know what would happen if you left them a really long time.  Vinyl and plastic isn't the same thing.  Maybe BlackCurtains will see this and jump in, she's the one that's good with chemistry, right?

Anyway, I'll still use the peroxide soaks on my ponies that are really bad.  I personally don't apply any chemicals except what's in dawn dish soap, shampoos and conditioners, to any pony that isn't really bad.  That's just my personal philosophy.  It took a really long time for me to work up the guts to try oxiclean.  I've used bleach for a few things but that stuff scares me.  I know there are some collectors who swear by it for certain things though.

The worst I've had happen so far with the peroxide is that I faded Cherry Treats hair.  As soon as I did that I was like "duh stupid, of course red hair would fade with that!!!"

Hey there, I think it was an old post I read. Someone quoted the stuff from some vinyl collection book I think, or maybe it was some book written by a company called Twin Pine. Can't remember clearly. It explained that plastics are porous and particles can get trapped in there. It also mentioned that long exposure to bleach can leech out and breakdown the plasticizers in plastics, causing them to harden and crack. I am no chemist myself, but my mum cleans the toilet a lot with bleach and I can tell it's quite damaging to the plastic pipes, since my dad's been complaining why we need to keep changing them every few years. He expects them to last at least a decade or so, and by right they should. If industrial plastics aren't resistant enough to bleach, I can see how ponies can be a lot more vulnerable. At any rate, I have more negative than positive experiences with using peroxides on my toys, so I highly do not recommend them.

Hiyee I don't think it's the sun's fault. I will blame it on the peroxide. I HIGHLY DISCOURAGE people to use Clearasil or Oxy, or peroxide in any form on plastics at all.

I have had terrible experiences before where I applied peroxide on my pony, and the marks faded, but 5 months down the road, the areas where I applied peroxide and thought I had cleaned off properly turned brown... like caramel brown!!! Peroxide + sun is the ultimate combi to breakdown your plastic, not mark fade it.

I read it somewhere that things like peroxide and bleach are EXTREMELY HARMFUL to plastics. They leech into the pores, breakdown the plasticizers and cause the plastic to "rot" and deteriote over time. It's something I've stopped using on ponies altogether since 7 years ago.

LOL! Erm, personally, I love how some G3 flowers smell, but my favourite fart smell is I think Triple Treat.

But yes, fart smell can be very intoxicating, no doubt there ^^

Best laugh EVER!

Really I would think Rarity would be into something more diva-ish like Mariah Carey, Celine Dion and stuff. lol
