The Dollhouse / Re: Monster High Discussion Thread 4.0
« on: June 25, 2012, 12:43:25 PM »
Forgive me if this has already been asked (there are an awful lot of pages to sift through in these threads!) but, how is everyone storing their MH fashions?  Since I don't have the space or the inclination to buy additional dolls of the same character just to wear the different outfits, I'd like to find a good way to store them while they are not on the dolls.

I got the Starbeam Twinkle set on clearance a few days ago, though my Target had it a little cheaper than that at $13.48.

Pony Corral / Re: TLC attempting to prey on Pony Community

Something very similar to this happened in the Care Bear collecting community several years ago.  One of our community members got on an episode of Dr. Phil...needless to say, it was not at all a positive look at Care Bear fandom and many collectors (including myself) were ashamed to identify as collectors for quite a while after that.  I definitely don't want to see this happen with MLP.

Sundays work a bit better for me than Saturdays, but if the meet ends up being a Saturday, I'll try to work something out ^_^

The Dollhouse / Re: PC: Strawberry Shortcake dolls?
« on: June 09, 2012, 07:02:40 AM »
The second picture is Angel Cake wearing Strawberry Shortcake's outfit, so she might not be worth as much as she normally would be due to not having the original outfit she came with.  Top doll is SSC herself and third doll is Blueberry Muffin.  Blueberry is missing her hat and shoes, SSC is complete except for pet but is the most common doll.  Last time I sold these dolls I got between $3 and $5 each for them.

Your fourth doll is one of the twins Lem and Ada...I believe that one is Lem but I'm not positive.  It took me a while to find mine and those booties often get lost.  I'd say that one is worth a bit more, perhaps $8-10, but that's simply an educated guess.

I paid $10 for mine about a month ago, if that helps.

The Dollhouse / Lalaloopsy advice?
« on: June 09, 2012, 06:53:26 AM »
My little cousin has just decided that in addition to Monster High, she wants to start a Lalaloopsy collection and has asked me to look for them when I go out thrifting.  I picked up what I thought was one two weeks ago that turned out to be a knockoff, but found a real one this morning.  I'm not sure what her name is:  she is a big (and super-heavy) doll with crazy bendable hair strands, pink hair, pink dress, black button eyes.  I paid $5 for her which I'm hoping is a decent price.

Are there any dolls that are particularly special that I should watch for?  Also, what is considered a "good" price for a secondhand Lalaloopsy?

I got some more goodies for sale/trade at the flea market this morning, including a couple more dolls for the growing Jem box ;-)

I primarily attend meets for the buying/selling/trading aspect, though my wishlist has gotten more and more specific over time so I don't come home with the hauls that I used to.  I do enjoy simply getting to know new and old pony friends as well though, and it's always a fun experience to hang out with people who share the same obsessions that you do :-)

I'm putting together my revised wishlist, slowly but surely...

Also, let me know if anyone is looking for any particular non-MLP 80s toys as well, as I have a bunch of random stuff that I'll be bringing to sell this year as well!
