Pony Corral / Re: What Pony keeps...

As far as G3s go, Skywishes, fabric-winged Starcatcher, and Strawberry Swirl - there always seems to be at least one of those in any lot I find.

In G1, I have an overabundance of the Rice Crispies/Christmas baby.  There were two in the last lot I found at the thrift store a couple of weeks ago.  I seem to end up with quite a few Rainbow Curl ponies for some reason too.

Oooooh, if there's a rainbow curl in good condition you're not interested in, let me know. I'll be happy to take doubles off your hands! :)

I've got a Stripes and a Streaky that might be decent once they've had a good cleaning and possibly a Raincurl if you don't mind having her pink stripe faded to white.  I'll send you a PM once I've had a chance to go over them better.

For Priority International, the customs number is the tracking number.  I've always had pretty good luck with tracking Priority packages with it.  There have been times when it stops getting scanned, but that's usually after it leaves the country and seems to depend on the destination country.  First Class is another matter - that really can't be tracked.  Perhaps that's what your PO lady was thinking of, either that or she just didn't know what she was talking about at all.  Calling the PO tomorrow is a good idea.  Since it's a Priority package, they may be able to track it down for you.

Off Topic / Re: Question for Breyer Collectors
« on: February 16, 2012, 05:04:31 PM »
I'm pretty sure I did keep that one as well - all the ones I keep are stored out in the garage so it's difficult to check at the moment.  The pegasus box had a styrofoam insert specifically for that one didn't it?  Those make it safer for storing or moving so I keep any like that just in case.

Recycle them!  The boxes are pretty much worthless unless they're the old style picture boxes from the early 80s and before.  Even those don't add a whole lot of value.  I keep the ones for my porcelains, a few specially decorated boxes, and cut out the info cards that they've started putting on the newer boxes but everything else goes straight to the recycle bin.

The Breyer collecting community is a bit different from the toy collecting one - MIB rarely sells for more than loose and can even go for less on occasion.

I had one I sold awhile ago, but mine had her shoes and comb plus her dress was in better condition.  I just looked through my posts at the old Arena and found where I got her price-checked at $30 - 50.  The person I sold her to bought a couple of other dolls, and I unfortunately didn't mark down which doll went for how much.  It looks like she went for at least $40 though.  I don't think I have the individual pictures anymore, but here's a group shot of her so you can see the difference in the bodice of the dress:

Sorry to steal the thread, but does anyone know if the US blind bag cards are different from the European ones?

Yes. Apparently the international ones have the ponies' descriptions in multiple languages, but the US ones have slightly more info about the pony.

There are also some slight differences in the glitter pony cards (and possibly the mane 6 - not sure on those).  They have a little extra design around the name on the front and also say "Special Edition!" on both sides.  I only have a couple of the US ones so this is the best I can do for a comparison:

Trader & Shipping Support / Re: Shipping To Puerto Rico - Time?
« on: February 10, 2012, 11:00:19 AM »
I've never shipped to Puerto Rico, but your problem is more likely related to sending it Parcel Post.  I've refused to ship that way ever since a package I sent using it took nearly a month to arrive at its destination.

I have to agree with BrightIdea.  My childhood Racer has a forelock, and I'm 100% certain his hair was never cut.  Looking at the MIB pictures, I'd say the forelock is just blending in with the rest of his mane due to the way he's packed.

Here's mine:

The very last feedback I received over there from Tribble79 didn't come over with the rest.  Other than that one, all of mine appears to have transferred fine. :D

The 40 volume should work fine.  It's just a slightly lower concentration; so, it may take a bit longer than the 50.  Actually, I've heard you need a beauticians license (or whatever they call it) to buy the 50 volume.  I had no problem walking into a Sally's and buying it off the shelf; so, either they don't always pay attention or it depends on where you live.  Either way, that's probably the reason you can't find it online.

breyer600, your two Twilights are beautiful!!  Mine is purple like the left one and I got her in the USA.  Where did you get yours?

The pink one came from overseas not long after they first started showing up.  I traded for the purple one a month or so ago, but I'm not sure whether the person I traded with got her in the US or not (she didn't have the card).
