Pony Corral / 1982 or 2008 cotton candy?
« on: September 03, 2013, 04:17:42 PM »
How do you tell a 25th anniversary pony from an origional? I just picked up a cotton candy from a thrift store thinking it was one of the anniversary set but I`m not sure. Her hair and body are both a bubble gum pink and her feet are concave and have 1982 on them. The pictures of the anniversary Cotton Candy seems to have a lighter body than the hair. Whats on the anniversary cotton candies feet?

I hope you released her in your garden. They are the best garden bug control. any time we find an egg nest we move it into our flower gardens and when they hatch the babies eat all the bad bugs. and they are super cute running around in the flowers

I was able to get a lot of pindot mold off with a no name magic eraser and a lot of scrubbing. But i didnt want to scrub her eyes or cutie marks. So I`m going to try these methods. Thanks for the tips.

I also like to use a boar hair brush (once the hair is detangled), with real boar hair not the fake ones. The bristles are too soft to break hair, it takes out any static and you can use it for hours just smoothing  the hair. I also use it on my own hair (which is past my but) with a little jojoba oil when my hair gets dry. The bristles spread the oil evenly along each hair shaft.

Yep just looking at their bright shiny colours always brightens my day. And if I`m having a really stressful day at work I stop at a thrift store on the way home and find one that needs some TLC. Brushing pony hair always relaxes and de-stresses me

With the really bad ones I cover the hair in conditioner, gently brush through once from the bottom to the top in small locks. I seperate a small lock from the rest of the mane and brush starting at the tips and working my way up to the roots with a wide tooth comb. Then repeat it for each small lock (6-10 plugs per lock). Once i have brushed through everything once (the first time through i dont over brush. just enough to get a comb through) I shampoo the hair and re-condition with a ton of conditioner. I comb through once more with the pony lying on its side with the strands stretched out and leave it over-night with the conditioner in. The next day I brush it with a brush with more teeth until the brush is running through without snags. Then rinse out any excess conditioner, run a comb through again quickly and style the hair as I want or if its still really frizzy (which that one will probably be) then go on to try the boiling or flat iron method. This should reduce the amount of boiling or ironing you have to do.

Pony Corral / How do you brush curly hair?
« on: August 26, 2013, 08:52:33 AM »
I picked up a G3.5curly haired  pinkie pie at a thrift store. She needs a bath and a good brushing. I`m just wondering what is the best way to brush her and keep the curls as intact as possible. Is it better to brush it when its wet?
Thanks

My hubby also took me thrift store hopping and got a whole bunch of G3, G3.5 ponies but they are all matted and dirty so I wont post them till they have been to the spa.
