The plug is there, it just gets cut through or pulled apart at the "thin" part. That ring you have is the middle part of the neck plug; the wider part that "holds" the head in place is still in the body. I guarantee she originally had a neck plug, that is how all G1 heads were held on, except in unusual cases like the Dream Beauties.  I've had the dreaded neck-plug-tear happen when de-heading both G1s and G3s. G3s were much worse for it. Something to do with the way Hasbro positively SLOPPED glue into their heads, IMO.

I doubt there's a Hong Kong version, as she was released in Year 9, at which point Hasbro was making all its ponies in China, as far as I know.
I used to have this pony and her body was definitely harder than the average pony's.

This. I don't believe Hasbro lost the copyrights/trademarks/what-have-you at all. I think they fed Lauren Faust a line of legal mumbo-jumbo so she would THINK they had . . . because they wanted to continue using the G3 characters they had invested so much advertising $$$ into. For having "lost the rights", Hasbro certainly has been plastering the image of many G1 ponies--INCLUDING FIREFLY--all over shirts and other merchandise. visitors can't see pics , please register or login"LOLZ, no Firefly here!" visitors can't see pics , please register or login"We don't even know who these ponies are, really! I think Rapunzel is dull.
I hate ponies with writing on them. I don't mean "a child scribbled on them", I mean things like the Birthday Twins having "Happy birthday!" written on them or those G3.5s with their names printed on their sides. No, just NO.
I love the FIM show, but find the G4 toys to be lackluster at best.
I don't think there's any point in dropping hundreds of dollars on mail order Sweet Scoops when Sherbert is pretty much the exact same pony.

Taffeta, I remember when you joined the PonyPeople Mailing List--there was an undercurrent of excitement because, at last, a UK member who might have access to some of those amazing Euro ponies! I think Sel joined not too long after, or possibly a little before. I know she was the one who first told me So-Softs were never sold in the UK.
Anyone else remember the eBay seller "esk"? Not a community member, as far as I know, but one of the first transatlantic major eBay pony sellers. He'd put reserves of $30 on every non-US pony . . . and got that price every time, for a long while!

That yellow unicorn, I'm not sure if she's Lemon Hearts or not. Her symbol looks more like gems than hearts.
I think the camera was just too far away to easily see the indentations in the hearts. Still, it does look a little off, in that the hearts are supposed to be swirling around each other, not arranged into a perfectly neat triangle. It would be strange if the blind-bag toy got that right but not the regular size.

They look like gems to me. I don't really think she is supposed to be the blind bag Lemon Hearts. I just noticed her eyes are not the right color for her either.
I'm wondering if the "miniature collection" might be the blind bags packaged like this ???

Could she be Upper Crust (the snotty knotted-sweater-wearing unicorn from "Sweet & Elite")? Pretty obscure, but that's all I can come up with from the show.

Every time this topic comes up there are a bunch of "it's your pony so you can do what you want with it" responses.
That is true in the literal sense; the Pony Cops are not going to bust down your door and arrest you for customizing Ice Crystal.
At the same time, it's more complicated than that. This is a community, and every community has standards and expectations. This is why we would reel in shock if someone bought an expensive custom that had taken hours of work and then put up a Youtube video showing the buyer defacing the pony and then setting it on fire . . . even though "it is their pony, they can do what they want with it."
Everyone CAN do what they want with their ponies, but doing certain things is going to make people upset, sad, or just boiling mad. Scribbling all over a Mimic in permanent ink. Cutting the hair of a mint Rapunzel. Customizing Fireball.

My guess is that she will be a Euro exclusive.

I am going to be seriously piqued if his hair is not rooted the way "normal" ponies' hair is rooted, because my plan from the moment I saw him was to get some rerooting action going on. His current hair looks awful. Yes, Hasbro, we know he's a boy. The unique mold kind of tipped us off. You do not have to give him Troll hair to clue us in.
Aside from everything else, the fluffiness of his Troll tail always seems to leave it lifted (in the various pictures I've seen of him so far), which, um, kind of makes it look like he's taking a dump.
