Pony Corral / Re: How to get her tail back in?
« on: June 21, 2012, 06:59:19 PM »
I have done many pony tails - 99% okay!

However - I go the other way.......Head first!

After washing and cleaning the tail NEVER removing the metal clasp...... I put on a new washer (easily obtained from hardware stores)

Then I wind a fine but strong wire around from the tip of the tail back to the washer and pull from head to tail. - (naturally you have to have the head off.....but if pony has tail rust you can bet her whole inside needs cleaning anyway - so off with her head!)

Tail comes out - wire comes off and you have a new fresh washer so the tail won't ever pull out!
Not always right first go (wire slips off - tail comes through crooked!)....but very good result at the end! (pun intended!)
Works for me!!!

Pony Corral / Re: Tinsel Taming! How do you do it?
« on: June 21, 2012, 06:43:43 PM »
Wet the tinsel, place it in a damp pillow case and use a clothes iron on a flat surface over the top of the pillow case - press it dont "iron" it and dont let the pillow case or the hair in it get too warm! I know it sounds odd but honestly thats the only way I have managed to tame tinselled hair over the years.

I am sure others have their own methods though!

I've done that too - trial and error! DAMP hair and paper towels were what I used - fine line too between straightened and melted! Watch the heat VERY carefully!!!

Pony Corral / Re: So G1 peepz, who's the flavour of the month now?
« on: May 24, 2012, 10:47:55 PM »
Just thinking when I first joined, Mimic was the must-have pony and was fetching crazy prices! And the Mountain Boys were pretty popular as well as a few others. What's happening in 2012? I must confess I haven't been hanging round the corral much since the focus is more on G3s and FiM (not quite my generation). So chime in with your ten cents please :)
Hey Tiggums....I am with you! Haven't been around the arena for a while! You are right about Mimic! Of course I did get her - for at the time LOTS of $!!
Now in 2012 I am into getting rid of MIB G3s....Granddaughters just not interested in MLPs!
