I think the most important thing is that the seller admit the pony is a re-hair and which hair has been used. This would/should then affect the price of her/him? Those that are picky just wouldn't bid... those that are happy with the pony - go for it! I personally have a few re-hairs and customs as well as some of my own that I have given a "new" tail off another pony...... One of my best ponies is a custom Greek Ladybird done by the amazingly talented PKW! I could NEVER afford a real Greek Ladybird.....but this Lady is just fabulous. Its going to depend on the intensity of your sun and the amount of sunlight you get in a "day"...
Personally I would turn it with regularity rather than blast one side and then blast the other - i.e. if they need 2 weeks in the sun...maybe 3 days one way, turn 3 days, turn 3 days, etc, etc - until you get the finish you wish.
This is what I do too...only I have mine in the outside in the real sun! Has worked on quite a few seemingly hopeless cases! In full sun - doesn't take all that long! (be careful to protect their eyes and symbols! Hair seems to be okay)

I have to tell you.....I haven't been round the Arena for a while...... I have been seriously thinking of selling some of my precious ponies ......being the oldest MLP collector - one has to worry what will happen to my lot when I get REALLY old! Then I come back and look at topics and you are selling amazing ponies! WHAT ARE YOU DOING TO ME!!!! I am watching.........wishing........thinking.......planning........ Looks like I had better get back into ponies.....sell some - so I can buy MORE!!!!

I would definitely buy the MOC every time!
I have plenty of other loose ponies which can be played with, hair combed, dressed up etc.....But MOC is just a true collectors dream!

I have her too, plus all her accessories. Sorry - can't part with her blanket - it is winter here "down under" and today is ESPECIALLY horrid so she really needs it!!!
