Pony Brag Arena / Re: OMG... BEST... Goodwill day... EVER... O.o
« on: January 20, 2012, 02:33:35 PM »
I had a run like this once.  I went back every day for a week and found new G1's every day.  It's because they don't put out everything at the same time, even if it was all donated at once.  I'd keep going back until I didn't find anything if I were you ;)  Especially if it's not too far out of the way!

Look at the hair on that Lickity Split... So pink and pretty =)

I added a comment on Summers blog about this, asking what state it occured in.  I think we should be keeping an eye on Craigs List and local news papers as well as eBay. But, it's kind of important to know which state to be looking in.
I feel so horrible for the family this happened to.  What a shame the brother did this.  I really hope everything can be tracked down!

It's sounding like you need the money fairly quickly.  If that's the case, then eBay is not the way to go with selling the Greek ponies.  They'll hold your money for either 21 days or until 3 days after delivery confirmation shows it as delivered.
Count on loosing approx 20% of the items selling price to fees with PayPal and eBay.
You can always try listing an "auction" here at the Arena and accepting offers.

Holy cow you hit the Craigs List jackpot!  Congrats on an amazing find!  I can hardly believe you found one of the itty-bitty baby twins.  :good:

Put the photos in Spoiler tags!  That way, you can have multiple shots of each pony with its description, but they won't slow up or stretch the page too much.

I for one don't like going to another site to see the images.  But, I'm lazy and like to have everything in one convenient place  :relaxed:

Anyone else having problems viewing threads over at the old Arena?  It keeps redirecting me to the index here!  I'm copying/pasting this so whoever my partner is can read it and not have to deal with the freaky freezing issues.

Wow!  This thread really exploded while I was away during the New Years weekend.  I'll do my best to catch up, so this will probably be a sort of long post  visitors can't see pics , please register or login

TEA all the way!  I'm a heavy tea drinker; I go through at least three cups a day and sometimes more. I have yet to find a kind of tea that I refuse to drink visitors can't see pics , please register or login
My favorite has to be Celestial Seasoning's Imperial White Peach or their Country Peach.  I think I like just about anything that's peach flavored.

 McDonald ponies, baits, customs?

I love customs! There are so many talented artists here and it's amazing seeing what people come up with;)  McDonald ponies would be great because I had to sell all of mine to pay the bills when I didn't have a job >_<  Baits are totally acceptable because I LOVE to restore.

 Accessories?

YES!  Especially a so soft rearing stand.

 Favorite Colors?

Any shade of purple.  I also like green a lot.  I made my art desk/computer room area a magenta and lime green theme because they're peppy and inspire me to get things done.

 Candles, lotions, bath accessories?

I'm a huge candle addict, but have two major requirements on them.  I won't burn any candle that contains lead in the wick because it's bad for your health to inhale the lead-laden smoke. The second is no essential oils in candles.  I am owned by a cat and cat's can't properly metabolize essential oils in any form, so I try to avoid those for her health.

Lotions... Not so much. I like Burt's Bees lotions, but not really anything else.

Bath accessories- Salts!  I'm a fiend for baths and love to add salts. Auria Cacia salts are my favorite, but I'm really not picky as long as they're not artificially fragranced (parfum on the ingredient label). Baths are my meditation and de-stressing time, so anything that helps with that is appreciated.

 Extras preferences

I'm a pretty grateful person and appreciate any extras included. I prefer useful and beautiful things over kitchy dust catchers. My cat Misty loves boxes, so the box my swap stuff comes in is considered an extra!  Chocolates are great, as are anything ginkgo, dragonfly, Celtic knot, or raven related.  I also enjoy fairy gardening and am obsessed with moss and ferns.

 Pets? Kids?

As mentioned before, a little snowshoe siamese kitty named Mist Luin, aka Misty.  She's my only child and I adore her to death =)  She's currently having some intestinal issues, so any treats for her would have to be freeze-dried meats, such as shrimp or chicken, or greenies. Feathers are her favorite toys, as are a stuffed Chewbacca,  and string.

Will anybody be celebrating a birthday during the swap?

 Nope!  I be a July pony =D

 Do you collect anything else?

Dinosaurs!Dinotopia has been a huge influence on my life and that has shown up in a dinosaur collection that rivals the pony one.  Anything prehistoric is totally awesome =)

It's so neat reading everybodies likes and wants.  I wish I could send a box to more than one person because I keep seeing people post things and I'm all "I like that too!  I have xyz that I bet they'd love."  But no spoilers on what/who, because I don't want to hint at who my partner is  :silly:

Yup!

A few years ago I found two Soft Sleepy Newborns for only $40.  I figured they sold for about $40 each, so I picked them up and listed them on eBay.  About three days into the auction, I had someone ask how much I would take to end the auction right away.  Thinking they sold for $40, I told the person $80.  Figured if they were willing to pay double what it was worth, then they must really want it.  They did.  And the other one ended for $221.  I have never ended another auction early since that hard lesson! :drunk:

Pony Corral / Re: Anyone have any selling or buying luck on Etsy?
« on: January 19, 2012, 04:53:33 PM »
I've been selling on Etsy!  So far, it's all been stuff that I've made.  I haven't listed any ponies on Etsy yet, so I'm afraid I'm no help about turnover there.

I'm totally through with eBay as well.  They really don't like small time sellers anymore and have done their best to drive us off.  Now, I sell here and at Etsy.  I'm currently in the process of building my own website to sell from, but that's nowhere near ready yet.

Selling here on the Arena is really the best alternative to eBay.  You're far more likely to have a successful transaction, there aren't any final value or insertion fees, and you can use all of the pony lingo/jargon and know that you'll be understood!  Besides, it's great to know that something is staying within the community and will be cared for rather than torn up.

Yikes, Stopxmotion!  That sounds horrible! Is it possible for you to get a PO box in another town and have stuff sent there?  Maybe that way you don't have to deal with unhelpful people or destroyed boxes.

I got the last two ponies today!e I also picked up some sweets that are made in the next town over, so whoever gets my box will have a nice assortment of local goodies =)

Goodwill rocks!  And congrats on the amazing finds =)  I LOVE finding near-new So Softs at the thrift shop.  That's how I got my Bouncy.  She's so perfect she looks like she fell off the card on the way to the thrift shop.

Now, I demand that you go back today.  And tomorrow.  You know the thrift shops don't put out everything and there's a very high chance of you finding more if you go back  :enthralled:

That is a tough one. Personally, i'd leave a neutral and mark them 1 on the stars for communication and shipping. You did get the item, bust still haven't had any communication.
