Pony Corral / Re: people who grew up with g3?
« on: June 08, 2017, 11:15:07 AM »
I did! I was 8 in 2003 and had been previously collecting/playing with G1 ponies, since my aunts had given me their collection. I remember seeing the G3s on the shelves in wal-mart and excitedly exclaiming to my mother, "They're back!!"

My first G3 was Pinkie Pie!

Pony Corral / Re: What are your thoughts on G4.5 ponies?
« on: April 18, 2017, 06:40:00 PM »
I like them, and I'm glad Hasbro is taking a step in a different direction. I really like the new poses and the new wing sculpts. They have so much more personality than "disinterested pony standing" and "disinterested pony standing with leg bent."
I like their longer, slimmer legs and cute round bodies, too, and unicorn horns that actually LOOK like unicorn horns!

The material is obviously different from the original G4s, but at LEAST the head and body are made of the same plastic this time, and it does seem to me that the hair is lower quality than before.

BUT.

At least Hasbro is trying. I feel like they're using cheaper material as a way of testing the water to see if these new figures make an impact in their sales. I'm hoping that they do and they change their tune to include these poses permanently, and introduce more unique characters as well.

I really don't like Starlight Glimmer. I could say I hate her, in fact. No part of me believes she could ever be fully reformed. I still believe she's just secretly masquerading under the guise of being a good guy just to learn all the ins and outs of the Mane 6 and eventually exploit their weaknesses so she may take over the world.

Pony Corral / Re: MLP The Movie Brushables
« on: February 16, 2017, 06:26:53 PM »
I'm not liking the direction the movie is about to take MLP.  Not one bit.  The seaponies are freaky, half the characters are too dang dark for a kids' cartoon, and that cat is totally out of place.  I can see the Tirek-like villain, and the sorta-Griffon pirate being part of the pony universe.  But the seaponies and that cat are just...why??

We barely know anything about the movie. We don't even know the plot. How can you pass such judgement on it?

I found Mimic at the flea-market/swap meet in a bin of old toys.  She was $1 or $2, I don't remember which. I was shaking when I bought her thinking someone was going to snatch her from me, haha

I have dreams like that, haha! You must have been having like 17 heart attacks.

My cheapest was Sunlight. I saw her in a booth at a Comic Convention. I had my friend ask about her because I was too shy, ha. The guy just said I could have her! She's in pretty good condition, too.

Pony Corral / Re: Your last g1 find in "the wild"?
« on: August 23, 2015, 02:42:21 PM »
My own find was in an antique store a couple weeks ago. TE Masquerade.

My mom found two G1s in a Value Village last week; a Posey with SUPER pink hair and sundae best Crunch Berry. I certainly amn't finding nearly as much as I used to though.

I've been in a very picture-takey mood lately and I took a bunch of shots of a few of my ponies. I would love to see your best shots of your ponies!

Pony Corral / Re: Tails Of Rust - Help?
« on: March 26, 2015, 03:30:57 PM »
Well first you're gonna have to pop her head off. If the rust on her tail is rather prominent, she may have a coat if it inside her, too. Take out her tail and remove and toss the rusty washer. I usually just shampoo and condition tail rust. If she has rust gunk inside her, use an old toothbrush to scrub her out.

Those little mice are super cute! I don't think I'll buy any but they are totally adorable. Those big ears!

Off Topic / Little Live Pets birds? Anyone else?
« on: March 21, 2015, 01:34:36 PM »
Last year there was a line of toys released from Moose called Little Live Pets. As far as I know there are butterflies and birds, and the birds are beautifully designed! Very bright and colorful, and their bodies are flocked. They can also record things you say to them and repeat them back in a pitched-up voice, which is hysterical. I have "Angelic Angela" but I call her Tilly.

I think they have great collectible value, because even if their electronic components die, they're very nice to look at and play with on their own! Not that I have, heh, and this year they're releasing a bunch of new styles and even a mom and baby pair! (Look there's even a Starshine! :P )

The singles are pretty cheap, about $10 each (unless the prices have gone up since the new releases.) I think they're great and I really love the owl pair, I think I found a new thing to collect! Has anyone else discovered these?
