Welcome back miss skaife.  It's been quite a while! Glad you've come back to ponies.

Trader & Shipping Support / Re: NonPony eBay Frustrations (DuPont Lighter)
« on: February 13, 2015, 10:04:50 AM »
I suggest you accept the return. If eBay decide the lighter is fake, even if it isn't really,  it won't be sent back to you, it will be destroyed by the buyer! And eBay will repay when photos of the destruction are supplied. If you believe it is real, get it back and resell or you could be out everything. There are plenty of cases of real stuff, very valuable things, being destroyed under this policy.

We were told that women in heels were to wait in a fire alarm situation until others had evacuated as they might be slow on the fire stairs and slow down the whole evacuation. Chucks out the whole woman and children first thing, lol.

I called the equal opportunity department who had a good laugh and got me to repeat it on speaker because it was the most ridiculous piece of discrimination they'd heard for some time . They said that if heels slow people down then they would be an OH&S risk and no one should ever wear them. But as heeled shoes are a female trait it's discrimination and illegal to just stop them evacuating with everyone else.

So I told my work to get lost and I'll be going down the fire stairs when I want not remaining to die just because I wear heels (which work basically forces us to do as "professional" clothing). The rest of the women agreed and the policy was dropped.

The problem isn't sourcing the flocking itself but the process.

The original process uses an electrostatic flocking machine in which the flocking is applied to the glue coated pony. The static charge on the flocking makes each piece stand out so it is only glued to the pony on one end and sticks straight up,to make a soft fluffy pony. To redo that properly, you'd really have to deflock and then reflock in a machine, which is a big capital outlay.

People can and do make their own flock applicators, but it is a high voltage machine so you want to know what you are doing with the electrics.

Some people, like in CherryCake's tutorial, have reflocked without that but it isn't really the same, as the flocking tends to be flat rather than fluffy without the machine. It looks ok but it's not so soft.

All cards now received. Thankyou urocyonfox who's card arrived Christmas Eve and aintnobuffalo which arrived today. Aintnobuffalo I'm afraid the ornament didn't make it but it looks like it was beautiful and I'm going to try to fix it.

I think there are another 2 for me at home. I rang my neighbour, who is collecting my mail and he said two cards from overseas arrived on Christmas eve.  I'll confirm tomorrow but I think I have received all of them now I just don't know who from.

Thank you both. I love them. <3

Sounds like it's time to just let eBay or PayPal sort it out between the two of you. That's what you pay their fees for after all. I hope you can get it sorted out.

Mailed mine out today. Didn't think to take teaser pics, just the ones I sent in.

I'd prefer my Arena name as my online persona is the one in the swap (yes, I know I'm odd). But either is fine.
