I loved seeing older collectors around here! I am interested in a couple off the candy cane ponies. How much are you asking for them? Can you send me a pm?

So curious - What made you get into G2’s and why?
Did you like them when they originally came out?
Did you pursue them after they became a Europe exclusive line?
What is a grail of yours and why?Myself - I was a G1 collector and rebuilding my G1 army. I moved to England right at the release of the G2’s and only bought one during their release. I regret not buying them when I was in England, but I was “loyal” to my G1’s. 😅live and learn! My most wanted pony is TrixieBelle (hopefully with accessories). I remember seeing her in Argos and absolutely loving her color scheme and fun accessories! I asked my parents to buy her for me, carried her around the store, and was told no as I was too old for ponies (16ish at the time). So she is at the top of my list. followed closely buy Star Swirl, as I got the McDonalds ponies in England and always wanted the full sized Star Swirl. <3

We got Rainbow Dash here in Australia as I have one, I'm sure we must have got Rarity too, I thought I may have had photos but can't seem to find any with them in it at the moment
How do they differ from the other FS releases, aside from their clothing?

Welcome to the Pony community. :-) Glad to have you. So sorry that you sold your ponies, but welcome back into collecting. Which ponies are you trying to hunt down? Curious as to what your childhood collection looked like☺️

Whoo....I see I missed a long lengthy conversation! Since when did the Tales Cartoon get labeled G2?
As someone who grew up watching both the original show and a tales, I can tell you they were interchangeable on my cable network! And well before G2’s!
I remember hearing the announcement of the G2 release, and a few years after production had stopped on G1’s. (All pre-“G1 and G2 labels”). I was ecstatic! But never once lumped the newer style ponies with the original styles.
On an off handed, but on-topic note - *i dislike the CP ponies, for some reason I think they look bloated, and unflattering
*I LOVE tinsel! All day long, give me Ponies with Tinsel in their hair!
*i always found So Softs masculine looking. They were always the grandpa’s in my herds.

It's common to cut and style G4 hair to be "show accurate". Other than that I don't think most people cut hair on purpose, unless it's an all new re-root and you want a pony with a mohawk or something.
This pretty much. As a collector, I cringe at hair cuts. I will not buy ponies for my personal collection if they have haircuts. I remember when a lot of newer G4 collectors would cut the ponies hair to be “show accurate”. I won’t lie, it somewhat ate at me. If it’s your pony, great! but be aware that others will most likely not purchase at full price, as a hair cut deeply disvalues a pony.

I have steamer and I absolutely love him. When growing up, my dad always bought be the Big Brother Ponies for my collection. He always wanted me to have Daddy ponies. Steamer was one of the few that I acquired as an adult. The Big Brother Ponies is the only collection I have completed.
