@Stiletto - Thank you! I'm hoping that someone does help, I know of at least 2 other people who remember this horse existing... but no name comes to mind for them either!

@Skeen - The Barbie horse is too new, and that second one definitely isn't it :( Again, she didn't have a remote control or anything--the jointing was something I had to use myself.

Sadly, I don't have any photos of this horse--she left my life years ago--but I just remembered her the other day and now it's bothering me that I can't find evidence of her ever existing!

She was a large purple horse--think Barbie-sized--with a speaker in her belly that made rather loud whinnying noises. Her legs definitely had some measure of poseability; I distinctly remember ankle and knee joints at the very least. I believe she had plastic of some kind (dots, maybe?) where her mane met her head, and if I'm remembering right her mane was either white or blonde with tinsel.

This had to have been released in the early '90s to early '00s sometime, as that's when I remember having her. I've always lived in Canada if that helps.

I've already crossed out the Starlight Walking Horse for sure, as she never had a remote control.

Thanks for the help! :)

EDIT: Now that I'm thinking about it, it's also possible her hair may have been pink. In addition, she had no fantasy parts (horn, wings, etc) and I distinctly remember that her speaker was rounded and indented slightly. I also used to put these velcro stars in her hair, though those may not be related.

A www congrats! I wish I could find G4 blind bag sized ponies at my dollar store!

They actually had straight-up blind bags too... and normal-sized G4s! Older ones, of course, but it was pretty cool!

Went to the dollar store today as I had a little bit of money laying around. Surprise, surprise--they were selling some older ponies and pony-related items! I ended up picking up a fairly recent colouring book and mini Apple Fritter. :lovey: Just a little something to cheer me up--I've been having a pretty lousy last few days, and this definitely picked me up!

Oh lordy, I'm not specific at all. However, when I'm buying older generations, I really prefer to snap a whole bunch up at once and deal with their varying conditions rather than slowly buy one pony at a time. Not sure what that says about me.

I don't have any ponies in particularly weird places at the moment... though I think the fact that my Seawinkle is sitting propped up in a glass with a bunch of seashells might count as a little weird!

I've had ponies all over the place before, though I think the most memorable thing I've ever done with a pony is stick a blind bag inside of this small Pikachu plush/pouch I have hanging from my purse. Rarity went for quite the ride!

Pony Corral / Re: What details would you like to see in G5?

I feel like I have very little to add that hasn't already been said, lol. I do have to echo the statement of going for the primary market first--children--but also giving collectors something to love, too. I don't want MLP to become collector-centric at all, but I would like Hasbro to throw us some love once in a while.

I agree with going back to the larger size--MLP always feels best when you can wrap a hand around their middle! And yes, double-sided symbols/cutie marks/whatever would be great to have back. Hasbro needs to put quality control back into the line; when G1s are holding up better than some G4s, that's an issue. I'd love to see some new species, and definitely old ones making a return. And more boys! Please, we've had a serious drought of boy ponies since G1, and even then there weren't many!

Ultimately, I just want to see the creativity of the past gens come back. I do like G4, but objectively I think it's the most creatively bankrupt generation toy-wise for lasting this long. At least G3.5/Core 7 had the excuse of barely lasting 2 or 3 years. I'm honestly hoping the G4 movie ends G4 succinctly and we get G5 within the next couple years. One can dream...

I only ever had one childhood pony before I started considering myself a collector! So my first, last, and only childhood pony was Magic Motion Ivy I. c:

Yeah, I've seen this before on fakies and other toys. It's just plastic flash that wasn't properly removed. Nothing too out of the ordinary!

Pony Corral / Re: Do you think of your collection as an investment?
« on: June 04, 2016, 06:20:53 PM »
Oh lord, not at all. I went into this hobby with the expectation of keeping my ponies forever--and as of yet, I've never sold a pony. I have no intention of doing so unless things get so rough it's the only way for me to survive. Knock on wood I'll never have to do that. I don't even think any of the ponies I own are particularly rare either, so the money I'd get would really be a pittance.
