My favorites that my dad bought me was the Beetlejuice soundtrack and Falco. I also loved my Violent Femmes and Cyndi Lauper tapes. I had a great time making mixed tapes and such.

Off Topic / Anyone know about Protien Powders?
« on: August 24, 2013, 12:08:09 PM »
I am planning to start drinking protein powders in shakes and sprinkling it in my yogurts and such for supplement. But I have no idea whats a good one to use. I need it to be high in protein but low in sugar and other "bad" filler stuff. I don't mind flavored ones if they taste good. I just don't have the money to be experimenting with buying ones that I might not like and wasted money.
Any information is greatly appreciated! I tried googling  for information, but it's quite overwhelming information. I'd rather ask yall and get the real information.

Slush Puppies were fantastic! I loved the dog in the pictures. I also miss Brownie drinks, they tasted better then Yo0-hoo to me. When my mom and I would be at the laundry mat when I was a kid she'd let me go get some chewy smarties and a brownie drink or a slush puppy.
I miss the smell of toys back in the 80s they always smelled like candy when you opened the packages. You also had a very simple selection of each kind of toy to chose from, now it's overwhelming when going to the toy store.

I honestly miss the innocence that was in the commercials where kids were kids and teens were teens. I miss the corny cereal commercials and I miss Alphabits terribly! That cereal was my favorite. I also miss all of the fun kooky cereal toy commercials like Whacky Wall Walkers and the invisible ink pen with the magic note pad. Cracker Jacks had real prizes in them too. The singing Coke commercials were great too.

Pony Corral / Doctor's office had Ponies
« on: August 20, 2013, 02:59:18 PM »
I had to go to a doctor today to get a evaluation for a surgery. I was really nervous and I went to sit down in the chair and spotted a smiling face looking at me from the fountain on the table. It was a blind bag pony, not sure who she was but I felt comforted by her. I noticed there was a basket with toys in it, so I started digging around in it. It was a shallow wicker basket but I found 53 blind bag ponies in the basket all together. My husband counted the ponies while I was getting my eval, he also lined them all up for me according to who they were. He said there was no Rarity at all in the collection. I took pictures though, I wish I had been allowed to take them home though, but I had to leave them all there. I felt completely comfortable after seeing all of those ponies there giving me support!

All of them lined up thanks to my husband

Here is the first one I saw when I sat down. I had to look at her twice to make sure I saw what I thought I saw.

I'd love to go but I live in Virginia beach and it's a far drive. Anyone driving up there from VB that I can ride with? I can put in for some gas and such, would be just me and my 9 year old daughter and a small duffle of ponies and sorts.
I'd have my husband drive me up there, but he's got to stay here for his parents who are disabled.

Oh thats a good idea Stormy. Want me to send you a pic of it Hicks? It's really a nice pic and would look great in a study or library or even a living room with the right look. I think the frame is handmade too.

Off Topic / Abe Lincoln Picture, what to do with it
« on: August 13, 2013, 05:39:42 PM »
Abraham Lincoln...
For some reason long ago my uncle found this print or whatever it is and framed it and hung it in my grandma's bedroom. I am not sure if she liked Lincoln or it was something quirky my uncle did for fun. I now have this picture. It's a very nice picture, but what do I do with it? It's not really my thing, it's been sitting in my closet for 4 years now.
I don't want to just donate it and have some family member see it in the thrift and flip out.

**I renamed the title so I didn't waste people's time if they weren't interested in reading it**

I do agree trash is never a option when it comes to ponies, but I wasn't sure if they were salvageable. Thank you all.

I hate tossing them in the trash, but I just don't know what to do with them. I don't have the resources to fix them, nor the time. If anyone has any ideas what I can do with them please pass it on.
The G1 is Skydancer the pegasus
G3 is the baby that came with her mommy and wore ballerina clothes

Thanks guys, Little Sweetie I will check out the website I would love to learn to make a granny square. My mom tried to teach me knitting, crocheting and such when I was a kid and I just didn't have interest.
I will ask some ladies at church tomorrow, I know some of them know how.
