Pony Brag Arena / Argies, Italians, my display... and a Pullip...
« on: October 19, 2012, 10:02:30 AM »
I've just got back from spending three months with my girlfriend on the other side of the world, I'm feeling a little low right now, understandably. But, between the ponies that she spoilt me with, and a few things I treated myself to, I at least have things to cheer me up.

For a start, she bought me these adorable baby Argie Cotton Candy and Confetti. (I rehaired Cotton Candy as she had barely any left and it was faded and grubby. The hair isn't glued in so that she can have a better colour match for the original hair when I get it)

I love this fakie that she got me. I love the "glass eye" effect she has.

I already posted about these South American MacDonalds light up ponies when she got me them, but here they are again ;D

Then I treated myself to some more ponies so I had plenty to keep me happy this week

My pony display is getting massive!

And lastly, while I was away I splashed out on this Pullip Black Jack doll that I saw in a comic shop. I was so excited when I saw him I had to have him!

I'm back from spending three months with my baby in Argentina. Feeling slightly depressed right now. but at least I have ponies to cheer me up! My girlfriend is a shameless enabler, I've warned her that if I move out there for good she's going to have to give me a pony room.

First, she got me Argie baby Cotton Candy and baby Confetti. Here's the seller's pic on Mercado Libre:

And after I'd given them some love and attention, (no one panic about Cotton Candy's hair - its not glued in and is just a temporary rehair with what I had with me until I can take it out and replace it with a better colour match. I just wanted her to feel pretty after they both reached me in such a grubby state <3):

She also bought me the set of light up ponies that I believe were only available in South American MacDonalds. I've wanted these since I saw them and I was so excited to get them!

And lastly, I treated myself to a few ponies for sale on the Arena to have something nice to come home to, including Italian Tootsie, (getting acquainted here with regular Tootsie, another gift from my enabler baby ^_^)

Ohh! Congrats! On Starglow especially! <3 I always like to check in that shop and drool over the ponies whenever I go into the city, but I haven't bought anything from them yet...

Holy macaroni, I didn't know possums were that big.

Possums aren't, but opossums can be - they're two completely different species. It's made more confusing because opossums (the "Irish Possum" LOL!) are the ones that "play possum" when threatened, while possums don't have that defense mechanism.... Confused yet?

Wow! Another Opossum!

My family (who I don't live with) rescued an Opossum too!  He is a very nice (if overfed and stinky) guy.  Here is my dad holding him.  I guess he stank too (my sister would wash him regularly) -  I read that that is one of their defense mechanisms...

As exotic pets go, I think opossums are pretty good. Of course, I don't support simply taking them as adults from the wild, but if they need rescuing because they're injured or have lost their parent and are young, they become tame quickly in my limited experience and even pretty loving.

I love that the South American opossums have stripes on their faces, while the North American ones have mostly white faces! Its such a cool difference. Your parents' one looks a lot like my girlfriend's other two, size wise. Opossums sure love their food! Reek's still young, he has plenty of time to work on getting fatter ;D Oddly enough, the other pair being a sister and brother (the brother is neutered) living together, they seem to groom each other a lot and need less baths.

Seeing as we're talking opossums, here's Gino and Gina:

I'm pretty lucky as my life is split between living in the UK and living with my girlfriend in Argentina, and I get to have pets in both places (my parents look after my animals when I'm away).

In the UK, I have two cats:
Tilly

and Irvine

And two rabbits - Dandelion (pronounced "Dan-dil-leon" because that's how my girlfriend says it and I think its cute that way ;D) and Ghost

In Argentina I have a cat called Roller Derby who was a stray that was rescued as a tiny kitten from the local train tracks

A ferret that I share with my gf called Chester

Annnnnnnd......

.... An Opossum! Called Reek. (I thought I was being cute naming him that, its a Game of Thrones reference, but he's living up to the name *facepalm*) He was hit by a car as a baby and his jaw was broken, so now he lives as a happy tame pet that will do anything for banana!

Apart from these, my girlfriend also has two other cats of her own, a corgi, a chinchilla, and two other opossums that were rescued as tiny babies when their mum was hit by a car. She's getting a reputation as the place to take injured animals to be nursed.... <3

I really love this set! The detail work on the symbols is excellent! Though, I'm curious what House the green pony is... (My girlfriend is guessing Tyrell? Though I'd love to see a Mormont pony...)

Earlier today the set were featured on an Argentinian GoT facebook group, so I linked to your Etsy shop https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=424760654250845&set=a.348928271834084.79895.348925438501034&type=1&theater ^_^

MLP Nirvana / Hair match for Argie Baby Cotton Candy
« on: October 11, 2012, 01:03:39 PM »
I'm in Buenos Aires at the moment visiting my favourite Argie  ;) Two baby ponies from Mercado Libre have just been delivered \o/ Argie Baby Confetti (with pink and white hair) and a regular Argie Baby Cotton Candy. They're in the spa right now, there will be photos when I get home.

Baby Cotton Candy only has a couple of dirty white tufts of mane left and a dirty white tail, I think I'd quite like to rehair her and pretty her up. I have some Dusty Rose in my supplies but I can order something else if there's a better match...

I love seeing alternate rehairs, its cool to think that people have ponies that are truly only a one of a kind ^_^ These are my guys that I did on a couple of balding ponies.
