G5 pony head on top of a spike shaped object... Ominous sign?   :devious:

Great topic, I'd love to see costumized dolls as well. There are lots of customized EG Minis on youtube, but I don't recall ever having seen an actual EG doll reworked. Monster High turned into EG is also a thing on youtube.

I went with Polaris. I like the contrast between her pastel colored body and bold pink hair.

Aurora is a close second, but she's too much like Flower Fantasy Sweet Blossom for me - same pose even.

I understand the reasoning, but you'd be limiting your market. You're assuming that non-EU customers wouldn't be interested because of the shipping. Might not be the case though.

If you are very transparent about the oversees shipping costs, I see no reason why not to include USA as a potential market? You still leave the informed decision with the buyer whether or not they want to pay those costs.

Tracked shipping is expensive yes, but at least it comes with a certain degree of security.

I saw that the pattern is very different from HelloGoodbye's too.  Fortunately I love both Novas.  I unboxed the less marked one and she looks more stripey from the front.  :)

It almost looks like they used a tie dye method.

Edit to reference HelloGoodbye

From that angle her design does look much better!

Mine came too!  I got an extra Nova to unbox.

Their patterns are different from each other.

Oh wow, the patterns are quite different. Makes me wonder how it was applied.

Not gonna lie, I'd be a little bummed out if I ordered one thinking I'd get one like the first one, and actually ending up with the one in the second pic. The pattern seems to be a lot less present.

Nice!!

It's so refreshing to see high quality plushies again, with brushable hair and embroidery.

Barbie!  8/10
It was maybe a bit too long though.

Admittedly, I wasn't expecting much; I went in just for the pink and oversized toy models :D
But the story pleasantly surprised me.

Here's my takeaway from it (I posted this on a youtube video somewhere, so it's just a copy/paste from my comment) :

The evolution of Barbie in this story is representing the growth from child to young adult; from kiddies who don't question the obvious lack of logics in the pink perfect world (no stairs? no problem!), to asking questions about reality and beginning to think critically (Sasha calling Barbie a fascist - using a word she picked up somewhere without really understanding its meaning), to leaving behind childhood and stepping into adulthood (represented by Barbie's last move and line in the movie).

Of course some said it's not that deep, but it sure has a lot of layers one can play around with. Pun intended.

Crystals.

I have a modest collection of pieces no larger than a hand, but there are some giant almost human-sized crystals out there :)

That, an artisan woodwork furniture in this style.

She sees the two pack briefly at Target.  I want to go look so badly!

Time stamp 9:41

For a second there I thought they weren't pearlized. The promo pics do seem enhanced compared to the real deal. Gorgeous stable box.

19.99 is a great price.

This makes me wonder who the target audience is in Basic Fun's MLP business model.

If it's kids, then there sure are more appealing and more gimmicky ponies to grab there attention with. If it's adult collectors, they have the first six for sure, or either don't want them.

It's an odd thing.

73
They were the first six so it makes sense to give them attention.

Does it though? Other than being the first six, there's not much to them. Year 4 ponies would make more sense imo, since they've released and re-released MLP 'n Friends, and the '86 movie throughout the run of the brand all the way up to G3. There is a much bigger chance that kids have been introduced to those ponies via media.

Heck, they could re-release it all again now, alongside BF's products.

74
Hasbro is obsessively fixated on the concept of a core group. There is no intervention strong enough to help them.

75
Impressive packaging, as always.

And now two of the pearlized baby ponies have a pearl bodied mom! Great idea!
