Pony Corral / Re: Who Was Your First Collector?

Snuzzle!!! I'm not a fan of any of the collector ponies really, except for snuzzle. I love that she's grey and pink. I got her at a Xmas toy fair a few years ago.... Unfortunately, the seller (despite ""knowing about ponies"") put a price sticker on her rump and the pen bled through so now she has some numbers on her butt   :stressed:  I even dug up the seller on Facebook and messaged them about it- not to return her, just to let them know to remove the stickies! She told me that was just a fluke. Yeah right!

Salty was the first one I got :+) he was in bad shape though, and he ultimately fell victim to a big customizing project that's taken me YEARS to get around finishing .....

I can never see Daddy Apple Delight without remembering this eBay listing. Something about the wording is so magical.

Pony Corral / Re: basic fun heartthrob - a little wonky!
« on: June 22, 2020, 02:07:20 AM »
A great find, I am still on the look out for her in store.

Looks like an excuse to make a bandana or statement necklace for Heartthrob!

Bandana is a great idea :+) I'm sure I can find some cute valentinesy fat quarters in my mom's stash.

Congrats on finding her!  I haven’t been brave enough to go into a Target yet but I will soon! Soon!

I remember passing up several Skydancers and Starshines because of their wonky looking necks.  They looked look the heads had shrunken just a bit.  Later, I did find nicer ones.  I wonder what happened.  I’m sad to hear that your pony turned out like that.

Target and Starbucks are about the only places I go right now :drunk:
"Too small" is a good way of putting it...it's like the cut on the head doesn't line up with the cut on the neck, lol

Pony Corral / basic fun heartthrob - a little wonky!
« on: June 21, 2020, 06:33:08 PM »
went to target today and found the basic fun heartthrob! i grabbed the last once since she's one of my favorites... I saw in the box that her head was maybe turned, but since she was the only one left i didn't think much about it and grabbed her.

i've been pretty happy with my basic fun ponies so far..I have snuzzle, parasol, and confetti. I've always been pretty impressed with their quality! they hairs are always silky and in cute styles, and the plastic never feels greasy... (unlike most g4s...) but poor hearrthrob came out a little wonky! If you can see, her head like doesn't fit right on her neck lol! i took it off and put it back on to see if that would help, but it seems like it was cut wrong or something, it just doesn't fit on the poor girl's neck.

i'm not that bothered by it, but it would have been nice if she was in just as good quality as the rest of them... and of course they're lacking pony smell :'( Have you guys experienced bad quality in your basic fun ponies?

The typical apoxy brand is "aves", it comes in two part jars like this

I recommend applying a thin layer over the scrapes and waiting for it dry, then sanding it down flush. Apoxy sculpt is very versatile, but it can be pricey and takes a while to dry. For something small, quick, and dirty, I like using Tamiya molding putty, it works the same and is waaay cheaper. I just wait for it to dry then sand it down.

in either case, it would be easier to color match and paint it after it dries. any pre-color will change color by the time it dries.

Customs / Re: Where to buy hair
« on: June 19, 2020, 03:38:34 PM »
i buy from dollplanet right now, since dollyhair is so bunk. i think diana makes such beautiful blends and her color selection is soooo beautiful! i also really like how she offers "bundles" in a color family, like small hanks of all the greens, etc.

How wonderful! They look amazing.
If you don’t mind my asking, how does one make buttons and stickers? Do you have to go to a company or buy a special machine?

I have used a button machine before, but I order my stock online. I order from different manufacturers, depending on what product I want made :+)

Very professional looking! Best of luck with your sales :)

Thanks sm!

Pony Corral / Re: So soft or Deflocked?
« on: June 15, 2020, 09:24:23 AM »
Some of the SS ponies are too beautiful for flock.......angel comes to mind. She really shines when she's deflocked. However others I think really work with the flocking....I think Truly is a really great pony, and her flocking is so cute on her.
