Prince Ruby! :D

I just won the Mexican Ruby (Dawn? Prince Ruby?) for ~$10 shipped. I am pre-emptively resigned to him never arriving, but one can hope (and get a PayPal refund).

She's so cuuuute! I will be modifying the wings, mind, I think they look so cheap on the first wave.

These are coming to the UK at this point, just as a reminder.

These are IN the UK already  ^.^  I got mine in Tesco!!

They are?!! Oh I need to go find them! I normally don't go to Tescos if I can help it...

This was in 2003-ish, I haven't seen promotions akin to this since then. That, and the USA gets all the exclusives first because your branches of chain stores are bigger. ;)

This is so cool! And congratulations on getting them both. :D

Yeah.. but that's weird, I've only got that one paragraph to go on. I can't find anything else about her.

OH MY GODS I AM A MORON.

I just found her:  "One of my favorite characters from one of my favorite Disney films, Captain Amelia from Treasure Planet. This figure was premium given away in the UK when you bought Fairy laundry powder. There was also a Jim, Silver, Ben, and Morph. She is about 7 1/2 inches tall. The trunk and map came from one of the Habro figures" from Flickr.

But I've already removed her bag - so I just un-MIP'd her.

FAIL... XD

She's way too big to be a McDonalds meal toy - and the meal toy for this movie is about 4" tall maximum. The bag is from 'Proctor and Gamble' which is a UK cosmetic company - it has nothing to do with the toy, just what she was apparently put into so she could be put out for sale.

Yes you're correct she is Princess Tabby! She and Princess Moonbob are crosses between princess ponies and happy tail ponies, it's so funny how Princess Tabby's body is so squishy but her head is hard and vice versa with Moonbob  :P

... I love that name...

I have three variants at the moment: Ruby/Dawn-Rose, Ruby with clear symbols and a teal tail, and Princess Amber with coral hair/blue tinsel (mane and tail) and Sunbeam's symbol. I tend to label them with names that are different precious gems since they originate in the UK.

Urgh I can't really remember what my last G1 find was! I've had a handful of G2 onwards or bits of accessories in various shapes. I guess my last G1 would be from very early this year, or possibly mid-last-year when I found some at an antique fair?

I was never of the generation that got multiple G1s at thrift/charity/etc sales though my childhood ponies are mostly second hand, so must have come from there (and I still have them). I would have been far too young to click about Ponies - especially when my parents and family focused on getting me dolls!

.. And I still played with the LEGO and the Ponies more than them..

Hi all!

I found this figure in a charity shop today - it's Captain Amelia from Disney's Treasure Planet! She's about 6" tall and she's nicely detailed and jointed. Somehow I don't think the bag was original, it looks like the charity shop wrapped her to stop her falling out of the plastic bubble. I didn't even think to ask if they ever had her box... *facepalm*

I can find no information about her online, I've seen one image with no credit/caption and everything else is McDonalds toys or the weird flat-faced plush toys. Does anyone know anything else about her?

I adore Captain Amelia anyway so I chucked the charity shop a donation on top of the £1.50 (about $3) that she was priced at.

ETA: Found!!!

But I've already removed her bag, so she's not MIP any more. I did keep the bag, however! Apparently she's never seen...

I probably have some of those in the G3 'random stuff' bucket... that or I'll make her some felt ones. :D

How is she unsalvageable for restoration? Restored ponies with replacement hair are done with new hair anyway (unless in very specific Nirvana cases), so she'd be getting a full replacement anyway. Is there no facsimile for the fluff?

Oh dang I missed these! These are cute, I'd actually find them really useful since I'm trans* (not a secret) and I only updated my profile on here to the right gender recently.
