They're both so beautiful! I've seen genie before, but puppy love is new to me--I love her color scheme! I'm sorry to hear about the loss of your puppies, but it's lovely that they've been made a part of such a pretty pony!

That's a great idea! I have tons of mini figurines (most of them non-mlp :P) and they're just sitting in a shoebox because I don't really have a good way to display them. I'll have to stop into target on my way home from work tomorrow!

It's nice to hear everyone's stories!  ^.^ I'm glad there's more people who had grand champions like myself! I actually saw a few in a thrift store the other day, but I decided to leave them there since I don't actively collect them (they can be a fun find for someone else!)

Fixing that exact earring on a SHS is why I actually joined MLP arena--but the dangling piece has been lost for some time. At least I'll know how to attach it if I ever find it!  ^.^

Customs / Re: Customizing with Nail Polish...?
« on: January 18, 2017, 05:21:48 AM »
I actually watch mandapanda and cookieswirlc on youtube, but I agree with all of the aforementioned points--nail polish is just a "lazy" way to get solid coats of paint fast. I've made myself nauseous for several hours just trying to paint my nails with my bedroom door closed for 20 minutes or so, I can only imagine how that would affect a small child.

I was considering experimenting with some nail polish, but reading the comments about it eating the plastic on the horse has changed my mind :P

Off Topic / Re: What do you order at McDonald's ?
« on: January 15, 2017, 05:58:36 PM »
I am a fiend for mcdonald's breakfast sandwiches. I was quite happy when they made them available all day near me--I'm able to get my fix no matter how late I roll out of bed on weekends now. :P

Usually, for breakfast, I get a bacon, egg, and cheese biscuit with a hash brown and a medium mocha frappe. It's not exactly healthy, but i'll get it as a treat every once in a while.

As for lunch/dinner foods, I usually get a quarter pounder meal with a root beer. I actually don't like big macs, so it's a good substitute for me!

Toy Box & Games Cupboard / Non-mlp model horses!
« on: January 15, 2017, 05:52:27 PM »
Hey there everyone  ^.^ I felt like sharing a little story and picture of one of my earliest equine companions, a 1995ish Grand Champions thoroughbred mare (though I christened her "george" when I was 4 and she's been male ever since )

My sister and I used to play with our toy horses together as children, and we usually had our dolls ride on our my little ponies, grand champions, or other fakies/doll horses. I actually remember being most fond of George--or as I called him, "Dorge".  I still keep him in my bedroom, usually hanging out on my shelf below my ponies or next to my other figurines and dolls.

As you can see, his hair is wild and poofy despite my attempts at taming it. He's also got some paint wear and loads of scuffs and mysterious stains. One of them is some sort of clay, since I used to like making clay pies to "feed" my toys :P You can even see my faded name that my mom wrote on his belly 20 years ago.

I think what's most funny about his paint wear on his nose, eyes, and feet is that those areas are so worn down because I used to chew on them as a kid. I'm amazed there's no teeth marks. That's how you know a little kid really loves their toys---they try to eat them

Anyway, does anyone else have any non-mlp toy horses that hung out with their herds, such as breyers and the like? I'm curious to hear!

The Dollhouse / Re: What kind of doll collector are you?
« on: January 13, 2017, 09:44:50 PM »
I had a HUGE hoard of barbies as a child--we had bins of them overrunning the basement. We ended up getting rid of most of them, but kept our kelly dolls since we played with them most. Around the same time, we had the original bratz--yasmin is my favorite. I have at least six or more of her in her own suitcase with her face on it. :P We held onto most of ours, since we didnt have that many.

I wasn't really interested in dolls for a long time after that. I was always more of a "figurine" collector. Around a year ago, I was deep in the most expensive and obsessive days of my pony binge and I started "rescuing" monster high dolls at the thrift stores I hunted for ponies at. Aaaand about 70 dolls later.....

Now, I'm trying to cut back a bit, but it's difficult. Most recently, I picked up a 1992 troll barbie, one of the fashionista barbies, and my mom gave me a scientist barbie for christmas (since i have a degree in biology and she's slowly accepting i like spending money on toys a little too much). For my birthday, my sister bought me a pureneemo S doll body and an obitsu 21 mm head. I bought her a Shibajuku girls fashion pack yesterday. :P

I also picked up a pinkie cooper, of all things, today. New in box. At a walmart. In the clearance aisle. I swear, I have the weirdest luck with finding old dolls in walmarts.

I dunno, I just "adopt" any that look cute to me. I even found a vintage Sailor Chibi moon doll that I ended up taking home. My poor room is bursting at the seams with colorful plastic women.

Wow! I've been eyeballing wysteria for a while, but I already purchased a sparkly pinkie pie...I kinda wish I waited. :P

I'm delighted that the doctors-waiting-room busy toy is a universal constant to this day. I don't see them nearly enough anymore....I kinda miss playing with them. :P

Pony Corral / Re: Do You Ever Have Dreams About MLP?
« on: January 13, 2017, 09:20:47 PM »
Absolutely. I have recurring dreams about rushing various sketchy-looking thrift stores before they close for good and throw out all of their stock, fighting through seas of unruly children trying to rescue rare ponies from some toddler nibbling on them  And of course, I usually forget my money in the car, go back out to get it, and everything's gone. phoo.

I actually have a lot of dreams like that--depending on what i'm most into, I dream about having very stressful shopping experiences. Someone call freud. :P

im reviving this thread because of a dream i had that scared the daylights outta me!!

i was in an old antique mall, and found a bin of G1's for $1.50 each

i found a really grimey applejack, gusty, and a few others. then, i see her: sweetberry!!

sweetberry is pretty high on my want list at the moment, so i picked her up right away! she had kind of messy hair, but hey, we've all got somethin'! then, i brush her mane off her face and see:

i was genuinely very scared. there were two more just like her in the bin. i set her down with her fellows and left.
oh my god that face
