Dear partner, I dont like my wooden base, And was thinking of either A painting it a solid black, or gold, or mixing it up alittle with some colours. or covering it with Fabric or something, or would you prefer a wood looking wood base. if that makes sense!!

I would prefer anything that you deem worthy of sitting under a pony!

Well it's supposed to get into the 20's tomorrow night, so I figured I'd start moving stuff into the new room tonight. Even my little fake fireplace can't keep my current studio warm enough to be out there on nights like that!  So this is my current space with stuff strewn everywhere while I try to clear one of the desks to move it inside.

And I have 2 of those tall cabinets in the corner which are moving in too. And those drawers. They're full of paper stuff which is not faring too well out here.  Neither is the desk for that matter, which I bought while living in the desert. Humidity, ugh!  All of my little shelves on top of it are U shaped now!  Lesson learned by the desert girl!  Lol!

I'll miss my view while I'm painting!  But I'll still do airbrushing and stinky or dirty projects out here. View was better before that dang workshop went in though. Booooo.

I'll have to post pics when I get the new room set up. Probably won't be picture ready anytime soon though!

Huh, maybe the magic shards are differently balanced in iOS? On Android these days, they come out of the Windmill (of all buildings!) rather frequently. I've picked up around 250ish in total.

I was wondering the same... I usually get on average a couple a day, and most of them come from the windmill or the cherry shop thing. Still a long way to activating the stone, but I am making progress!

The other thing I was wondering about parasprites. So far I have had nothing additional spawn - when do they start appearing? I just hit level 60.

I don't know about Android, but when the last downloadable iOS update happened, the "What's New" list in the app store said that parasprites would now only spawn when you had the items available to clear them.  That was the winter update.

Nothing in California is cheap, that's the problem.  ;)

Werd.  Probably the most affordable you'll find within a decent distance to LA is going to be something inland empire.  Start with a search through San Bernardino county, but keep an eye on where.  The county is HUGE driving from one end to the other can take up the better part of a 5 hour drive, no joke.  But cities in San Bern that are near the LA line will give you easy access.  If you don't mind a little of a commute check out spots along I-15 as well.  I'd start with places like Riverside, Ontario and Glendora.  They're likely to be a little less expensive and not too bad of a commute.  Also check out Burbank, and even some parts of Valencia.  Those are both considered LA area, but you might be able to find some budget friendly options if you're...adventurous.  :P

And BTW, how have I been back on the Arena for like a year now and I'm JUST NOW SEEING YOU?!  *waves to Kelly*

Right now, I can only work from my  tiny bed room. My desk is a fold away food tray with a kitchen cutting board found at a garage sale and a green plastic organizer tote for paint....and a Subway kids lunch bag with Brave on it holds my hair right now...*ashamed* One day, I will have my own collection room again...One day!

No shame there!  For the longest time my workspace was nothing more than my lap!  And a pile of supplies on half the sofa...

The extra room I have now will eventually become the actual collection room, but it's going to cost me quite a bit to do it the way I want.  So I figured it would be used better for working for now, at least until I've saved up enough to start building my display cabinets.

The paint storage thread got me wanting to see everyone's customizing home!  I'm currently splitting my studio up into two different rooms and I'd love to see everyone else's setup so I can get some fresh ideas on what to do with my newly added space.  Of course, I'm stuck at work right now so I can't post a picture of my current workspace, but I wanted to get the ball rolling!  I'll post pics of mine tonight when I get home.

NOW LET'S SEE 'EM!

Also...I LOVE CHEESE!

I finally got the third bedroom of my house back so I'm moving part of my studio into there (I was using my 3 season porch, but it's only good for THREE SEASONS!).  I've had my paints in little desktop drawers from Ikea forever, because I like them to be right there while I'm working.  But since I'll be swapping between rooms now I need something portable.  So now I've got a nice collection of old ammunition cases (welcome to the south!).  They're nice and sturdy, weatherproof and just the right size.  Plus cool looking.  I'll probably get something like CoinOp's CD tower for the inside desk eventually, but the ammo cases look like they'll work pretty well in the meantime.

BTW @CoinOp, get yourself some glass girl!  I have a big ol' piece of glass from an old table top on my desk.  It's the best palate AND I don't have to test colors on my desk!  And it's super easy to clean.  When the paint is dry just peel it off or scrape it away with a razor.  My desk is black, so I keep some white paper underneath part of the glass, that way I can test colors to see what they'll look like against both dark and light backgrounds.  It's DA BOMB YO!

Now I'm dying to see everyone's workspaces!  *off to start new thread*

I feel like I'm so behind!  I spent a decent amount of time with mine last night but I still have a bit of sculpting left to do.  Just the tail and fine tuning an arm, but I'd rather be painting now!  Booooooo!

This is a pretty old custom, and I like to think I've improved a bit from here!  But, here's a ruffly maid's outfit.  I did the inner ruffles in sections.

I'm actually totally with you on this one!  I keep staring at my Carousel Swap pony and debating what I want to do.  I would love to hair her now before I finish the sculpting on her head, but I would hate to screw it up when I go to airbrush.  UGH!

Well, I usually hair last now that I'm airbrushing FBRs.  But when I DID hair first, I always put painters tape around the base of the main, keeping it in it's normal shape.  So like, not wrapped tight like a ponytail or anything, just ran tape along the whole length of the root line, if that makes any sense.  I would usually do 2 or 3 rows of tape running from the roots up, then braid the rest to keep it out of the way.  I tried the method once with an airbrushed FBR and it did ok, but I still had some paint at the very root of the mane.  Tail was no problem though!
