I really like Talking Rain sparkling water. It comes in a couple flavors, my favorite is the peach nectarine. :)

Pony Corral / Re: G3 Appreciation
« on: April 27, 2015, 02:49:12 PM »
I actually used to not be a fan of G3. I grew up with G1 and 2 and liked both of them better, and at the time I also felt like the names of G3 ponies were kind of weird. But actually after learning more about G3 in the last little while, I have totally changed my mind on them. Since I was not collecting them at the time, I had no idea how cute some of them were! So I am a convert, lol. I really like the variety of colors and symbols. I mean, one called "Keen Bean" with sprouts on it's butt? Hilarious! I AM SOLD. I'm even buying some on ebay now  ^^;

I don't think they have ever had veggies so how much should I try to avoid mamong them sick?

I would just go with a handful of hay per pig every two days or so (depends on how fast they eat it) and then go with a small handful of veggies everyday - like maybe a big lettuce leaf each and a baby carrot a piece. They're not too big and I always found mine would just stop eating when he was full, so I don't know that you will have a problem if you put too much food in. :D

Hrmm, maybe I would jazz up this recipe with more veggies in the sauce - lightly saute some onions and celery, maybe add some grated carrot? If you want it to not be a chunky sauce, you could go with onion powder and celery salt, maybe? I'd also add fresh garlic, since I am a garlic fiend :)  Or you could caramelize onions and add them to the sauce, that would add a lot of flavor!

For a basic tomato sauce, I usually do: 1 small onion finely diced, 1-2 ribs of celery diced, couple shakes of oregano/salt/pepper/chili pepper flakes, 2 garlic cloves through a garlic press, sometimes paprika, a tiny splash of balsamic vinegar, wee bit of sugar  to balance out the acidity of the vinegar (make sure to taste while you cook to see how to adjust). If I want to make it "greek" flavored I will add capers, finely diced olives (or olive tapenade, Trader Joe's has a good one), and feta cheese!

Hahaha, now I am hungry. I love cooking!  :lovey:

I'm not a big fan of Breezies personally but Trixie is so cute, I might have to get her!

NO GET AWAY FROM ME TEMPTRESS!
Hahahaha, that was exactly what I was thinking! I agree they are totally cute though. I love the cat ones like Figaro from Pinocchio and Marie from Aristocats. Also, who can resist that fuzzy King Triton?! He is adorable!!

I'm not sure about which stations are the right ones, unfortunately! *Hoping the German and Dutch folks will chime in* I've always found it is cheaper to buy bus tickets in advance. I'm not totally sure about buying tickets the day of - I think it's possible but I don't know that I would recommend it. Hope that helps a bit!

I used to have a guinea pig back in the day! They are such sweet little creatures - when mine was really happy, he used to purr! :)
Umm, advice...
-They need something to chew on, since like rabbits they have teeth that grow constantly. I wouldn't put anything in the cage that you don't want them to chew on or is made of a material that they shouldn't eat (like thin plastic). I made mine a little "house" out of some leftover wood I was making a birdhouse out of, which kept him pretty occupied. Your local pet store should have something suitable for them to chew on.
-Generally, they need somewhere they can duck into so they can feel safe. If you eat Quaker Oats that come in the round tube container, mine always enjoyed having that as a little tunnel to hide in.
-As for feeding, your basic guinea pig pellets will do, supplemented with some hay, lettuce, carrots, etc. They love veggies!
-They do need Vitamin C. There are guinea pig specific supplements you can put in their water, or just feed them an orange slice or dandelion leaves on a regular basis.
-I recommend CareFresh bedding - it's a little more absorbent than the sawdust type stuff. Also, guinea pigs are sensitive to cedar shavings, so don't get those.

That's pretty much it though - they are a pretty easy pet in my opinion (although you do have to change their cage bedding a lot). Have fun with them! :D

Pony Corral / Re: So, what does a pirate Pony DO?
« on: April 22, 2015, 03:26:31 PM »
Hrmmm good question. I can't give you any definitive answers on where Barnacle gets his treasure, but according to Heck Yeah Ponyscans, he hides treasures for other ponies to find? So maybe he was independently wealthy to begin with and he is giving away his fortune one treasure hunt at a time *new headcannon*

I would have never thought about rehairing with yarn (side note, as a forum newbie I'm learning something new everyday!). It looks really cool and adds such fun texture to this guy!

She's really cute and she has one of the nicer color combos in G4. Want! :)
