I am really fortunate to have central a/c. But considering I'm extremely high risk for heatstroke and I have lung issues, it isn't really an option to not have it. When we were looking for a house years ago it was on the 'must have' list.
It amazes me that some houses & apartments here are still being built without some sort of a/c. Yes, we get cold here in the winter, but a good chunk of the summer is 35C or higher (with the humidex making it feel more like 40C). A/C is a huge selling point!

While at a house party, one of my husband's friends discovered I collect ponies, and sold me her Dream Castle and a bunch of ponies that were in storage at her mom's house.
From our local usedeverywhere.com site (like craigslist & kijiji), I got PE (no furniture or small accessories, but all structure pieces like fans, windows, doors, pool canopy, flowers, etc) and about 15 ponies for $50.
On my birthday one year, me and some friends went to Value Village and I found a bunch of ponies, including 4 MO pearly babies. I've also found a Dream Beauty there, and just recently I found a MO sparkle pony and a SS Ribbon with near-perfect flocking. (But her hair has bled onto it :/)
At a garage sale once I found SS Angel and Baby Princess Sparkle, plus some others.
My friend's mom found me a couple of my wingers at garage sales.
My husband's aunt gave me all of her daughters' G1s, with the girls' permission, of course.

Vervain is only really interested in playing with them when someone's on the floor with them. So, when my friend's kids have the fakies & baits out, she's right there with them. Or, when Mail Order Spike and I were cataloguing my G1s a few weeks ago: It was a nice, neat pile until she plowed into it.... visitors can't see pics , please register or loginShe does play a little rough, though, so she was given her own pony (a baity G3) so she'd leave the G1s alone. Mail Order Spike gave her a fakie, too. visitors can't see pics , please register or login

It's a giant glob of glue they used to hold the weight in place.

I just opened my knitting project drawer and found Primrose, Italy Pinwheel, two Takara baby fakies, and two glo worm baby pony accessories. So that's where I put them......

Last month I was unpacking all my old ornaments and trinkets (I finally have shelves to put them on!), and I found a birthday cake candle in a goblet. (From my childhood Party Pack). Pony bits get everywhere!

I have inadvertantly ended up with a small army. They just keep showing up! I think I have 4 now. Eventually, some will be cleaned up & listed for trade/sale. Whenever I get through the mountain of ponies that need to be cleaned...

Wow..... I must be really lucky. All my castles are fantastic.
I'm guessing this might be another case of Hasbro's fabulous quality control. A few not-so-great batches of plastic pieces that don't quite snap together properly?

But did you see Twilight's Rainbow Friendship castle? I was SOOOOOOOO bad. This looks to be built the same way. I bought Twilight's castle for my niece, and it was horrible to assemble. If you even look at it funny, it falls apart.
Also, does that Celestia have a strip of that crazy garbage tinsel in her mane? That would be sad.
??? My Rainbow Castle is rather sturdy. Sure, it was a bit fiddly to put together, but I was alone. Now that it's assembled though, it's rather solid. All the castles are....
Mine (that I got from a garage sale) is the same as Manimal's; falls apart if you blink at it. The previous owner actually glued parts of it together so their daughter could actually play with it.
