Pony Corral / Re: Pony poses? Best, worst?
« on: March 30, 2015, 10:47:16 AM »
For G1, I like the Mimic pose the best.  It looks so triumphant.

I don't like G1 Quackers Pose because the pony I own with it, Sweet Tooth, won't stand up on her own.  I have her propped up against Dancing Butterflies.

I know. I've had the same trouble with that pose and getting the pony to stand. I but them on a DVD cover for a while.. (the dvd between her legs) and find that this helps.. :)

I have no idea. I never cut my ponies hair or my barbie dolls hair...
Seems like some kids do this and others dont :P

I have a pony that feels a bit sticky (maybe others too). Is it breaking down then? Or can I just wash it? Do others have ponies like this? What do you do?

Pony Corral / Pony poses? Best, worst?
« on: March 30, 2015, 07:18:09 AM »
There's probably been made posts about this before.. but I'm new here still so.

Is there some places where I can see a list of poses and what they're called? How many poses are there?

Also what's your favourite poses and what's the worst?

Me for example.. I really love Sweet Tooth, but her pose are one of the worst I think.
I don't like Locket's pose either.
Cherries Jubilee are not my favourite either. Tootsie, love this pony, not the pose. :P

Don't like the 'original ponies' pose much. And all the poses for the 'unicorn and pegasus ponies' seems a bit of as well... Others who think like me?

I like Milky way and Mimic's pose. And Posey's pose. And Gusty and Strawberry Surprise have good poses.
I like most of the poses, except the ones I mentioned over.. What about you? :)

Yes.. we played with them a lot   That's why I think 6-7 year olds and up can play with them. :)
Also I don't know how 'safe' the toys being made today are either so..

But babies should probably not 'play' with them though. Don't think I would let them anyways..

I would probably let them play with some of the ponies. If I had more than one of the same for example. Or the most common ones. But maybe not Mimic and other like her. :P

I've heard that the g1 ponies can be poisonus, am I right? Or maybe it's vintage toys in general?

But I'm wondering.. is it okay for kids to play with the ponies? Or shouldn't they? Is it babies that put stuff in their mouth that's bad? Can a 6-7 year old play with them?  :)

Well your Lickety Split is actually 2 different releases :) The hotter pink cones were released in a different set in Europe.

However in general its good old fashioned and boring manufacturing. These were relatively inexpensively made, mass market produced items - manufactured at different times, in different factories and different production runs. Add that to the fact these ponies will have been stored in varied conditions for 30 years and it becomes more normal than abnormal to have 2 of the "same" ponies with some variety in finish. :)

Thank you so much for answering.  ^.^

Aren't the hotter pink ones the nss release? Like the red flower posey? Was kind was wondering why my pink haired lickety had paler cutie marks than her white haired sister!
Don't know why I didn't think of that sooner

Yes... Posey.. it's the same with her. But I thought the dark pink flowers was UK/EU? Or am I wrong... That's the reason I'm wondering if it's like this with other ponies.. :P

Pony Corral / Re: How do you get a Mimic exactly?
« on: March 29, 2015, 07:45:01 AM »
I won my Mimic on ebay.
She's in very nice condition in my opinion (also I'm not super picky). But I had to pay some money for it.
Mimic is the pony I've paid most for.  ^.^
And I'm a fairly new pony collector (been collecting for less than a year).
I'm not a very patience person.. haha  ;)
Good luck with your search!
