Pin y pon was the name given to the japanesse toy on spain and other countries, they were made by takara tommy.
The japanese toy kept evolving and growing on japan with its original name and is still for sale and growing. at some point this other company took the name pinypon and made this new toys to go with it and give em this cartoon mothern look like most usa dolls have now. So basicaly they had nothing to do with the vintage ones as they are not the japanese ones, they are only re-using the name. And if yoy look at the newest japanese toys they stoll have the same sweet feeling from his predecesors And still leave on a tree house and are fruit themed.  I like them way better than this new pin y pons in all ways
