Pony Corral / Pat Pend difference Sky Rocket?
« on: April 27, 2014, 05:59:36 AM »
Hi everyone,

I'm trying to sort out some of my ponys and I got Sparkle Sky Rocket twice - when looking closer I found that one is definitely more greenish (pat. pend), the other is definitely more blue (non pat. pend), both made in Hong Kong. None is the mail order version.

Does that affect the value of either or might one just have gotten too much sunlight over the years? I never bothered about the tiny differences before, it was always enough for me to have the pony once. Would be very kind if someone could help me out with some inforamtion  I used the search function but could only find general info about pat pend.

Off Topic / Re: Popular books you never want to read!
« on: April 21, 2014, 06:43:56 AM »
Weird topic somehow... I will read almost anything that I can get my hands on or that I've been given as a gift. If I don't like it I can still quit.

For example refused to read Harry Potter at first. My brother was given the first book for his birthday and after the first chapter I thought I was through with HP. After the Goblet of Fire came out my best friend gave me the first four books in English and told me not to stop after the first chapter and she was right. I read them all in a blink of an eye and couldn't wait til the next one was on the market. I enjoyed the books way more than the movies.

With Fifty Shades of Grey it was the other way round. Started reading, was nosy and curious but the story itself is simply not of high quality nor is it well written. A shame, not a shade, and I will not watch the movie.

As a conclusion I would recommend people simply try for themselves and not let anyone influence them so much on what is worth reading or not. It's just due to my old English teacher that I learned to love and appreciate   old literature such as Shakespeare -

It's always a question of perspective ;)

The movie was and is one of my all time favourites. I have my own DVD so I don't have to wait til it plays on TV again like every Christmas.
Considering this I HAD to read the book, it gives you some more information than the animated movie does. I am always curious if the book and the movie differ a lot and especially when the original is in English I want to read the original not the German translation. It is rather short but absolutely worth reading - that is my personal opinion but I gave my best friend a copy and she loved it too. To me it has nothing in common with mlp but my childhood memories.

This is my beautiful 40th anniversary edition ^-^

Pretty Pony ^-^
I've got the normal version with the glittery symbol and the retro one - while the one from 1983 is in way better condition ;D

Lemon Drop, she is really not one my favourites but she has her own home and of course Brandy at her side ;) so I think they are worth sharing a pic:

She was always one of my favourites when I was a kid and stands here with  Waverunner and Mainsail. The white hair turns purple in the sunlight. It warms my heart to see that she gets some attention, she is definitely a gorgeous pony.

The problem with these ponies is that their hair often is a real mess, extremely frizzy and often beyond repair. Took me forever to find a neat Waverunner.
Poor Mainsail, but Beachball is even worse, still trying to save mine. Flat iron is not a good idea on these because the colourchanging hair might melt.

Uh, I can understand you all so much... I've won many auctions and sellers always listed them in very good condition and you end up with a bait pony because the picture hides the flaws or description is wrong. Just recently I got a Snowflake that looked so nice on the picture and when I got her I had to discover evil dark ink marks above her eyes - they were taken away in the picture by a good flashlight.

I would never state a pony mint that is not boxed, so the closest state a used one can have to me is near mint. People have become quite shameless when it gets to making more money on Ebay and it's annoying me a lot. It hasn't always been this bad, started on Ebay 12 years ago and it had almost always been fun but more and more sellers (and also buyers) try to rip you off - and that's what it is to me describing an item not truly.
It's an endless story lacking a happy end.

Price Check Archives / Re: Little PC help please... G3, G3.5, G4
« on: April 09, 2014, 04:49:26 PM »
Thank you very much! ^-^ I appreciate your help a lot.

I got them in a lot and I didn't expect them to be of high value but it's always good to have an idea of what I can ask for them.
I think I'll keep the G2 and G4 at the moment. The G3.5 got their spa day today and will go back on sale. They are sold here MIB for 10 to 13 Euros so I guess I'll do fine selling the five together for 10, maybe 15€.

Price Check Archives / Little PC help please... G3, G3.5, G4
« on: April 08, 2014, 07:39:59 AM »
Hello,

it would help me a lot if someone could give me a rough estimate on prices for these ponies. They are all in good shape, hair just needs a good portion of conditioner then they'll be as good as new. I also have a whole bunch of accessories but no clue to which one they belong.

Since I only collect G1 but pick up some others along with lots once in a while these are kind of left over. I used to give them away very cheap because they had no value to me but I always clean and style them before they go on auction so I am wondering if they are worth the effort.

I actually start to like the G3 because they are closest to the G1 in looks but those big heads kind of freak me out as well as this ballet pony with the stick in its head...

Pony Brag Arena / Sooo much Pony-Mail...

Hello everyone!

Uh, last week and this morning have been like unwrapping Christmas presents! So many ponys from everywhere :)) and the post woman now thinks I'm strange because Ruby Lips head popped out of the envelope ;D

Mostly from the
US, two from Germany - Pina Colada and Sun Blossom just 1€ each! And thanks to Sarah-Bee I own my first unopened, never played with pony! Yes, I was the buyer and your auction text made me find the arena. I've already figured out though that there are more members of the arena I've bought from already.

All bought over Ebay and all of them really cheap comparing what I paid for some that were in awful conditions but nicely pictured.
They all need some minor cleaning and a hairstyle, just Party Time turned out to be bait, DS is fine, NDS totally discoloured. I hope the pics come out right, tapatalk doesn't always work right on my mobile.

Still excited, now I only miss Sea Breeze to complete my Tropic Ponys.

Thank you all very much for your warm welcome

I'll probably spent the next days more reading and getting an overall view of the arena but it surely won't be my last post  ;)
