Boil them and reposition. Running them under cold water helps it go faster but cooklng naturally is fine for the patient.

Xylene gets most things off. I don't like using sand paper since it changes the texture. 100% acetone seems to work for most things, like everyone else says, but xylene is my favorite. If something is really tough, think about something even more toxic like "naked gun". Note: It's an industrial stripper that requires gloves and a respirator and is more dangerous, even though you ALWAYS use safety equipment with chemicals, right....?

I feel redundant saying the same thing: burns from boiling water and ex-acto knife gash to the left hand, just like everyone else It must be a Mark of the Pony Customizer (MPC? heh). I wish I could think of one like the iced tea story. That's my favorite.
Wait, maybe it's good I don't have one that interesting that comes to mind. I'm not about to go looking for one anytime soon either, but it will come. And when it does, I will drag myself to my laptop to report. 68

Pony Corral / Re: Restoration Experts - glitter rust and hardened bodies?« on: March 17, 2014, 10:24:13 PM »I'd be careful with whitening with the hydrogen peroxide. While it does wonders in a lot of pony discolor issues, bringing ponies back in the sun can cause problems (has been there and done that ) What happens to peroxided ponies in the sun? I use zit creme, so it's benzol peroxide but I suppose it would do the same thing as whatever it is that you are talking about. Expound! Post Merge: March 17, 2014, 10:25:24 PM Unfortunately, unlike people (particularly me) hard bodies are permanent on ponies. It doesn't tend to affect how a pony looks on display, however some my be shiney due to the plasicizer leeching out of the platic. The -izer part is what keeps the pony pliable. I wonder if plastic conditioner, over time, like the kind that you put on the vinyl in cars, would help 70

I'd say boil her for 8 hours, benzol peroxide her for three days... and boil her again for 3 hours. What's that...

Pony Corral / Re: Need (urgent) Sunfading Help!« on: March 08, 2014, 11:14:26 PM »
That looks like a job for acetone, not sunfading. Sun fading will make her entire body lighter, unless you mask it off, and with a dark color of marker like that it may actually set it in just a lighter version of that color over time. I would first try isopropyl alcohol (rubbing alcohol and in the highest percentage you can find, usually up to 99%) or simple dawn soap and water, if that doesn't work, then acetone (active ingredient in nail polish remover) and if it doesn't go for that you can choose something more intense like xylene (I've always had success with it but it's more dangerous and requires protective gear) or sunfading.
Anyone else have magic cures? 74
Pony Corral / Re: Special Treatment for Color-Changing and Crimped Hair« on: March 08, 2014, 10:08:03 PM »
I've never had a problem with a flat iron and it affecting color changing hair HOWEVER the color changing hair is more heat sensitive and more prone to stretching and melting so using a cooler iron is advisable. I specifically use one that has a knob that shows the temperature instead of numbered settings and don't go above 285 (usually closer to 270) for color changing hair. Straightening it with a leave-in conditioner seems to help even if it gunks up your iron a bit, (it's cleanable) although strangely, heat-"protecting" products like straightening serum seem to make it MORE likely to melt. Weird, I know. I make sure to move the iron quickly and go over it many times instead of going over it slower and fewer times since it's more sensitive, but it's never seemed to change the color-changing effects. Anyone have a different experience?

Notice how much a group of the G1 Big Brother Ponies look like the Village People? What other cultural icons do the ponies of that time remind you of the 80s?
