Pony Corral / What details would you like to see in G5?
« on: June 03, 2016, 08:28:36 AM »
With G4 entering its seventh year soon (at least if we number the years like My Little Wiki does), we really should begin to wonder what G5 will have to offer. So, most essential details first...
As for myself, personally I'd like to see a more rounded/equine design in G5 ponies, more of a return to basics as G1 and G3 were, as opposed to the chibi designs of the G3.5s and the 'we're trying to look angular like the show but we can't quiiite do that' design of the G4s. I would also enjoy seeing more clearly defined and distinguished sets, like in G1, to give each year's line more clear organization.
And also, better distribution and quality control! (still searching for that Octavia brushable, Vinyl Scratch has no one to jam with).

Spiny in mint condition goes for about $40-50, maybe a little more if you're lucky (or a buyer is willing to pay that much).
What G1s do you have? You need to post some pictures!

Usually, I'm the one who answers these kinds of threads, but you're better off asking LadyMoondancer, LadyGuinevere, Wildshadow or others about this - I don't own any of the issues featuring the Fairy Tails :(.

Good luck finding the information.

That photo is the stuff of nightmares...
What is it with G3s and G4s degrading so much? G1s and maybe G2s I can understand, but most G3s are only a decade old, and some G4s are already beginning to degrade after only four or five years...

Hmm... I currently own a few duplicates (about 30 actually). Most of them are in mint condition. Any numbers you want in particular?

I would like to say here that the 'daddy' ponies are some of the hardest to find UK ponies and you'd be lucky to find one less than $100 (depending on its condition in question). The 'mummy' and baby ponies are worth considerably less - typically about $40 in mint condition, but are still pretty rare finds.

Why did the gingerbread squeak?
Because Gingerbread had some really odd recipes, and she sometimes follows them by accident.
This, and also because she taught the baby ponies to make them as a joke, but there has some kind of mishap.
Anyway, the biscuits squeaked when they were bitten into. I'll have to check my copy of the 1987 annual for more details.
Also, the story has actually never been posted on heckyeahponyscans, sadly (I'll have to request it). The first instance I heard about the story was in Gingerbread's profile on Taffet'a Scrapbook, although the brief reference mentioned nothing about Prince High and Mighty or the Princess Ponies in any way.

Pony Corral / Question about 'Adventures in Ponyland' game
« on: May 15, 2016, 02:08:36 AM »
I've been wondering this for a while, but a few months ago, I received in a huge lot of UK G1 merchandise the 'Adventures in Ponyland' game (minus Baby Blue Ribbon and the poster). I received the main game and a sheet of 'game pieces' you could cut out, depicting UK characters such as Lightning and Sunburst the Mountain Boys, and... Tutti Frutti, I think? Were these the UK equivalent of the 'adventure cards' in the US version of the game? What are the differences between the US and UK versions of the game exactly?

Yeah I've seen this one.
I have as well, back when it was uploaded in 2013. It basically sums up the general consensus for each generation's media, though. I prefer videos with more interesting or differing opinions, rather than just a repeat of what others have stated before.
Also, this is not the only video to fairly cover all the generation in terms of their media. I'm sure I saw some kind of commentary by 'Familiar Faces' about this topic, but yeah, still just consensus.

She is worth $35-50 :). How will you sell her, I'm wondering if I can add her to the collection.

Bon Bon! I cannot believe it!
Either way, that's a nice haul you got there. I've been searching for G1s in the wild for years and have only found 3 G3s during this time. I've actually had Bon Bon TWICE before, but she was cancelled both times :(.
I'm so happy for the G1s too - looks like they'll be going to a good new home.

Pony Brag Arena / UK Fact File!
« on: May 14, 2016, 12:47:56 AM »
Today's win, for 34.00 GBP, is the complete UK Fact File! So happy to win it, it goes perfectly with the rest of my UK merchandise and comics!
All pages are intact, and the 'Design Your Own Pony' pages have not been touched.
I don't usually take photos of my collection (don't have a camera or mobile phone... and never will have the latter) but this might lead to some photos (of both this and my updated collection) coming to the Arena soon!

Amazing work! Bouquet must be happy now that she's pearlized :).
I am honestly amazed at how some users like you can take a pony who appears to have no hope and return her to beyond their former glory.

G4s galore!
I'm sorry about your being disillusioned by the FiM forum's words of negativity (we're getting back on track though) leading you to be done with G4 for a while. I admit I was a part of that negativity, and would like to earnestly apologize, having come to the realization that the later seasons have their positive attributes as well.
