Pony Corral / Re: What happened to your childhood pony?
« on: June 19, 2020, 03:53:00 PM »
I'm thankful I still have my 8 brushables and Firefly plushie from then (guess I can attribute it to never leaving the nest). I've taken Glory and Bubbles with me to several of the pony cons I've gone to, but HarmonyCon back in February marked the first time I took all of them, and gave 4 of them an R/C car from the same era to ride around on (as part of my 80's Shining Armor cosplay) to the approval of many attendees.

On a sad note: The hotel where HarmonyCon and Nightmare Nights Dallas has been held since their beginnings has closed down due to financial problems amplified by the virus (it's too bad because the hotel setup was excellent for cons), so this was probably the last time any ponies grace that hotel. The con hasn't found a new venue yet.

I probably have too many collections for this small house. XD SOme are small amounts, others large. Besides ponies:

Model trains
Insulators
Car and Warplane models and diecast
Semi trucks (diecast, models, etc)
Music cassettes & records
Railroad items. Namely signal equipment including a working crossing gate
Fruit jars
Bottles
toys and other items from the 80's
R/C vehicles
Unicorns
Horses
Plus I have all of the salt & pepper shakers and other knick knacks that belonged to my mom.

Didn't know there was a G3 of her. I thought she started as 3.5 (of which I have a McD version).
On the other hand I have 6 G4 versions.

Have her and her baby, and a rubber stamp figure. Plus I made a G4 blind bag custom of her.

Roy of Siegfried and Roy died from complications from the virus.

My state is now at 6,501 and 152 deaths. 2 Counties; Ford (Dodge City) and Wyandotte (Kansas City) have passed the 1,000 mark.

My state is up to 3,738 and 125 deaths. Though the number of cases is jumping, the death toll is has hardly been rising. Ford county (Dodge City) is at 600 cases now, making it the 2nd highest number behind Wyandotte (KC) which is at 619.

Kansas is up to 1588 and 80 deaths.
There was a story in our local paper about clandestine church gatherings happening in NE Kansas. The photo showed a bunch of cars lined up facing a road.
Lansing, MI had a protest over the stay at home orders, and I've been seeing plans on Facebook for nationwide protests on May 2nd (#wewontstayhome) if the orders extend past that (Cali may not see any concerts, etc. until  late next year). If this does happen it's going to get ugly.

Kansas is up to 1494 and 76 deaths. Our stay at home order has been extended until May 3rd.
One expert (Zeke Emanuel) is saying don't expect concerts, etc. to return until at least fall 2021 (one I was going to in June has been pushed back to Halloween).
I don't expect anything to ever get back to normal.

Kansas is up to 1268 and 55 deaths.
Speaking of "travel permits", so far there's been 10 reports in my state of people being pulled over by self righteous  individuals impersonating cops in Kansas to see if their travel is essential: https://www.wibw.com/content/news/10-reports-fake-traffic-stops-by-cop-impersonators-in-Kansas-569552471.html?fbclid=IwAR3lZNCdtfVYwReG2FV8CnrjjFvpFMqMGqIHB5fo69eGCnyaPHz2L7pk6oU

Kansas has hit 4 digits. 1,046 and 38 deaths. 2 new cases have popped up in my county (including one I heard on the scanner).
Our stay at home order has been modified to include churches, etc. too.

Edit: Check that. The KS legislative council just overturned the ban on religious gatherings.

There's a promising new plasma treatment being tried: https://www.yahoo.com/news/plasma-treatment-being-tested-york-213100838.html
