I fiiinally got some pics of my made-over Marianne, Tabitha, uploaded to my flickr. I'm so in love with her :lovey: She has Alice du Jardin Pink's wig and Tiphona's stock, and she probably won't ever get to change either of them ever again, because I think she's just perfect now

The Dollhouse / Re: Novi stars?

Toys R Us Canada is having a sale on Novis again! $9.99 each for the regular ones (I forgot to check if the Skinz and Beach ones were also discounted). I picked up Tula Toned to go with my Malie :D I haven't seen any sign of Mimi/Vera or any other new ones around here, so I wonder if TRU will even get more after this sale...

BRH is just... just perfect! :lovey: I love the purple eyes, smoky eyeshadow, maroon hair, pale skin, red lips, and of course her glorious stock, all the white ruffles and the hooded cloak and the stompy boots... She's just inescapably irresistible, especially if you're like me and already adore all things Red Riding Hood :D

Speaking of the hair, though, that's so awesome to hear that yours has a lovely wig, M!ndy! Mine's like Cassy's, although it wasn't really tangled, just so very coarse, kind of... wiry? Since I keep her full stock and her hair braided, it's all good 'cause it looks all shiny and lovely... it just really doesn't feel lovely! :P I'm so glad they've improved it for the restock!

Pony Corral / Re: How do you arrange your ponies?
« on: October 08, 2013, 12:49:37 PM »
Well, my G1 Twinkle Eye shelf is arranged by colour, but though my Sparkle ponies and Big Brothers are grouped in their sets, they're not by colour. My G4 blind bags are on a shelf separate from the G4 brushables, but both are displayed by colour. But the G4s also have a Fluttershys Only shelf where the additional brushables and blind bags of her live, along with her Funko POP, plushie, etc. Oh, and then there's the Princesses Only shelf, too...

Sooo I guess I organize mostly by colour and/or set and/or I'm really a bit random overall :D

The Dollhouse / Re: J-Dolls - $20 at Tuesday Morning!
« on: October 05, 2013, 08:11:16 AM »
Yup, J-Dolls have either type 3 or type 4 Pullip bodies, so anything that fits those will fit J-Dolls too. Earlier J-Dolls will be type 3, later will be type 4, but I'm not sure exactly when/with which doll the switchover happened. Still, lots of stuff that fits a type 3 will still fit a type 4 and vice versa--type 3 is a bit curvier with larger hips and bust, type 4 is more slender. If an outfit isn't too fitted at the hips or bust it'll usually work all right for both types.

Are most clothes marked as being for type 3 or type 4? I know Abbott Street is type 4. I've been looking at tons of pics of her and I checked the Toy Box Philosopher's review on J-Dolls to compare and she's definitely a type 4, which I'm happy about since I think the type 4 body looks better.

I just paid for my Abbott Street! I got her on eBay for $40 (shipping included), which is a bit more than I wanted to pay, but I've noticed fewer and fewer of her on eBay and since it's not looking like she'll be found at TM at this point, I figured I'd better grab her while I can. I can't wait until she gets here! I may still end up buying one of the other two on my wishlist if I find either for a decent price eventually. I just don't want to overdo it since I already have 3 huge collections (MLP, MH and Hello Kitty) and I don't have room for another.

It's too bad they're not making anymore J-Dolls. Was there a picture of the cancelled one? I'm curious to see what she looks like.

More often than not stock won't be labelled type 3 or 4, in my experience. You kind of have to go by the release dates... Pullips switched to type 4 at the beginning of 2009, I believe (someone correct me if I'm wrong...) But since Abbott is a type 4, type 3 stocks should fit her fine, just maybe a bit loose sometimes. And you can always ask here about the fit of a particular stock :)

This is the cancelled J-Doll, Provence:

A pity, 'cause she's lovely :(

Thank you everyone! :lovey: I'm still so chuffed! :D I've decided to keep just Luna and Cheerilee from the ponies. The Breezies are dang cute but I really can't let myself collect them too

I have that merry-go-round from childhood ! It is missing the foldable parts on the top and a ticket booth outside in the grass. And the figures, I guess. Does it still spin ? :D

It does still spin! And thank you! I figured it must be missing some bits along with the figures... it just doesn't look quite right, it definitely needs a top!

Nice finds! Aw, I loved Polly Pockets. So cute.

Thank you tons for this! Awesome! What a great site.

Oh wow! Good finds! I came across a bunch of complete vintage PP playsets at Value Village many months ago, I squealed like a school girl xD big congrats, the PP castle is amazing <3

It IS! I can't believe how many ways it opens up. It needs some cleaning in all those nooks and crannies XD

What a nice assortment of ponies and other items.  No wonder you are back on your thrifting kick!  :D

I'm totally going again tomorrow

I've not been having much luck thrifting for ponies for the past while... but now, I think my luck is galloping in the right direction again  I'm so pleased with my small finds in the past few weeks that I just had to share!

Three G3 Breezies: Honeydew Hum, Meadow Moon and Azalea Bloom, all pretty close to perfect after their spa visit!

And G4 Pinkie with tinsel, Princess Luna with tinsel, and Cheerilee... with forelock! I didn't even notice til I got home that she had bangs :D The G4s seemed to be in rather rough shape (they looked like little pony tumbleweeds, their hair was that bad) but altogether only cost me $2, so I was pleased anyway... and then, even happier because after deep conditioning and Magic Erasing, Cheerilee and Luna are totally gorgeous! (Pinkie... not so much :drunk: Yeah, that mane's permanently fried :P)

Also, four G3 Ponyvilles--I think it's Desert Rose and Sew-n-So, and two Rainbow Dashes, one with removable hair. And, of course, obligatory McDonalds ponies came along in the thrift baggies too

And then... vintage Polly Pocket! I couldn't leave these behind--I loooved Polly Pocket as a kid. I could use some help IDing them, if there're any PP collectors here who know what I found? (The ones in bags have figures, which is why they're still in there for safekeeping!)

Cinderella castle, I think? And I believe the yellow compact is a knock-off Snow White?

Carousel, regular sized compact, and a little heart compact with adorable wee flocked puppies. And a thing with a green lid? (McDonalds again?)

I'd been falling out of the habit of going thrifting, but now I'm totally addicted again. The thrill of the hunt!

Oh, and I'm not 100% settled on what I'm keeping vs trading/selling, so any price checks (on ponies and/or Pollys) would certainly be appreciated :) (Aside from the McDs ponies, heh, I know what they're worth... 'bout the same as poor baity old Pinkie XD)

Pony Corral / Re: Chupa Chups
« on: October 01, 2013, 09:11:15 AM »
Oh, these are so cute! Wish I could get the Fluttershy and the Luna! :lovey: We do have Kinder Eggs and similar candy-with-toys things in Canada, but I've never seen Chupa Chups chocolate balls like this before, just the lollipops.

Chupa Chups are awesome! They sell them in several Polish delis around here, although I'm not sure what country they originate from.

Chupa Chups are original from Spain ^^ They where created in 1958 by Enric Bernat in Asturias, in the north of Spain. And Dalí created the logo.

Here ATM we don't have MLP Chupa Chups, although I'll keep an eye on them. What I have seen are Monster High Chupa Chups. But I don't think they come with dolls.

Dalí did the logo?! That is SO cool! (Also, I'd love to know more about the Monster High ones!)

If you're selling AJ's hat that came with her barn playset, that might be worth a bit more. You know how the fans are about AJ having her hat! :P And the cat that came with the barn is the closest match to Opal.

I think I do indeed have that hat! But then, the question is, for that very reason... can *I* part with it?

And this is why I have more boxes and drawers of doubles than I will admit to :P

Its pretty safe to say most of the plastic G4 accessories have a G3/Ponyville source however often in G4 they are changed a little and certainly often in different colours. Set yourself a price from 25c to $1 for each and have offers such as "buy 10 pieces foe $5" kind of thing. That is normally the fastest way to move on common accessories.

Sounds like a plan! :D Thanks... stinkycat! (lol!)

That certainly makes sense about the FS accessories, and also about the stuff that's G3/3.5 molds reused--not that I'm too familiar with which things those are, not really being a G3 collector. I suppose there probably isn't an easy way to tell, is there?

Well, I have some of AJ's barn stuff, some of the Mrs Cake bakery stuff, some of the new Midnight at Canterlot set stuff, and some blind bag cards, so looks like I'm going to go with my initial assumption and price 'em all low... :D
do a quick search on ebay ,and check the sold auctions , it will give you a better idea, or even here,a search on  for sale threads will show how much people were selling them for :)

Oh yes, I know :) It's just pretty well impossible to look up most individual bits ^.^
