Pony Corral / Re: POTD 12/20/19 Diamond Glow
« on: December 20, 2019, 10:44:28 AM »
OK, I am also struggling to tell Diamond Glow and Princess Silver Swirl's Light Up Family version apart (while the regular Princess Silver Swirl's horn is silver-coloured, mommy PSS has an orange horn, just like Diamond Glow), so I feel your pain Miniature Sheep! :P Turns out I even voted wrong... I voted I have her, but no, it's mommy Princess Silver Swirl I have

Now that I had a closer look of pictures of both on My Little Wiki, they do both seem to have the same symbols. The two differences I managed to notice are
- Princess Silver Swirl has a translucent horn that has been separately glued onto the head, while Diamond Glow's seem to be part of the white body and are painted orange
- it is apparently Princess Silver Swirl who has a diamond on her bust - Diamond Glow has... no diamond (why would it be easy to remember when it can also be hard? )

Back on topic: don't have her, want her. I love everything about this pony (and Silver Swirl) - I normally am not into armies, but I'd struggle to sell duplicates of these off.

Oh wow, they are wonderful! I'm especially in love with Moonstone  :inlove: this is totally how she should have come - I like this white&pastels colour scheme much more than her original colours! Good job, and thank you for sharing these lovely ponies with us :)

Ah, she's beautiful! I love both the pony's colours, and the whole ensemble's. The accessories, the package, all the matching pastel is a delight to my eyes. I'm also curious to know if you bought her - I think I would have struggled to leave her behind if I came across her in person  (that said, it also depends on her price tag).

The Dollhouse / Re: Na!Na!Na! by mgae

Oh - I haven't yet heard of these - thanks for sharing! :)

MGA's choices of doll lines have mostly been strange to me. I could never hate the company, because I know they are capable of doing magic (looking at Moxie Teenz Tristen, the one who started it all, the one who turned me into an adult doll collector, as I write this), however, their recent themes with the blind bag and poop and slime and baby dolls dressed as adults did not appeal to me at all. These however, are totally cute. I've never been a fan of soft, sewn dolls, but I do like these. I love their eyes, their hair, and their size also seems to be OK. I wouldn't say I like them enough to actually want one, definitely not if I have to order one from abroad - but I can't say what my reaction would be if I had the chance to see them IRL. I'll be looking forward to seeing reviews and more/better actual owner pictures of them - this is (just another) time I wish Emily's ToyBoxPhilosopher blog was still active, as I'm sure if she was to review these, she would include tons of pictures that would help me with finding their place in my head/heart.

I'm also happy to see that they aren't actually fully blind-packaged. I totally don't like all this blind bag trend (especially at the price they are going for - most blind bags are totally overpriced here, L.O.L. being the no. 1 example), so I would hate to have to blindly buy one if it turns out I like them enough to buy one. Now I only wonder about how good their QC will be, as not being able to see the actual product I buy (especially in today's world where quality check doesn't seem to be on the same level as before) is another thing I don't really like...

Off Topic / Re: New buddy feature in pokemon go
« on: December 19, 2019, 01:37:56 PM »
I've only checked it quickly today (I spent the full day at home, and I much prefer to play when on the go), but based on that it's totally cute! As I wrote in the other Pokémon Go thread, I've been wishing for such a feature for a long long time now, basically ever since the game started. Pikachu was my starter, and, knowing Pikachu's nature, I found that he isn't walking with me to be a missed opportunity on the developers' side. When the buddy system was introduced, I, again, was hoping that buddies will actually walk with us, so it's good to see this finally happening. I'm currently walking with Togepi, and I find him running around me to be insanely cute! That said, he wanders away a bit further than what I like at times, and since the Pokéstop next to my house was occupied by Rocket leader Arlo when I logged in today, and it was a little concerning to see Togepi running around him, I turned the game off after a short time :P I can't wait to try this feature out on a day when I'm actually going somewhere and not just standing in one place :)

Aw, I feel for you two! This makes me appreciate our abundance of pokestops more - luckily there's a lot where I live, which I sometimes find annoying because I never have enough space for items. I'll stop feeling annoyed and try to appreciate this a bit more - and I'll try to send you two more gifts :)

I really enjoyed the evolution event and seeing some otherwise uncommon Pokémon pop up more often. I did manage to evolve Gligar, Ralts, Magmar and 2 Burmies without having to use any rare candies, which made me very happy. That said though, now that the event is over, I'm starting to get a little bored again... as I'm usually playing on the same route, it's the same Pokémon that I encounter every day, and the catching feature alone, it seems, cannot keep me excited anymore. I am trying and trying, but I cannot beat the Rocket leaders*, so I find myself not trying so hard anymore. I also do not catch the Pokémon I have caught hundreds of times already, I only tap the ones that I am aware of existing in a shiny version - I did have some luck with this recently, and managed to catch a shiny Swinub (Shinub) and Mr. Mime (Mr.Shine XD ), and I also got a purple Kyogre from a quest, but shinies are so rare that they can't keep my excitement up enough either.

*speaking of them, Cliff creeps me out. The way he's turning to always face me when I walk past a Pokéstop occupied by him is totally creepy XD

I'm hoping the new buddy feature will be good and will get my excitemennt level up again - based on what I've read, it does sound good, and it's something I wished to have for a long long time (Pikachu was my starter, and already back then at the game's start I felt that he isn't walking with me is a missed opportunity on the developers' side. When the buddy system was introduced, I, again, was hoping that buddies will actually walk with us, so it's good to see this finally happening), so I'm eager to try it out. I did log in to have a quick look, and Togepi running around me was insanely cute! That said though, the Pokéstop next to my house was occupied by Rocket leader Arlo at that time, and it was a little concerning to see Togepi running around him, so I turned the game off :P

OMG, this site is awesome! I haven't come across it yet, so it was a first time for me - thanks a lot for sharing!
"Oh, the lack of technicolour plastic!" cracked me up :lmao: as did "They're everywhere! I swear they're breeding!" - I guess a lot of us wish they did!

Customs / Re: Mushroom Pony!!

But at parties, is she a...fun guy?
I’ll just show myself the door
ROTFLOL :lmao:
This reminded me of a board game party my company organised a couple of years ago, and one of the participants brought a Lovecraft-themed card game, which had a card/character called The Fungi. This was one of the cards he picked to explain the rules (was deemed easier to digest than some other character names from the Lovecraftian universe), and we were cracking up everytime he was listing characters and said "The Fungi"

Back on topic, she is dear! I love the design, the trunks/branches are beautifully detailed, and look at those teeny cute mushrooms!  <3 She turned out wonderfully, I love the whole concept!
I really like your customising style Blackness! The sculpted details add so much and are very creative. Your purple underwater-themed pony was also lovely - thanks for sharing this one too! :)

Customs / Re: Can I use tempera paint to repaint ponies?
« on: December 16, 2019, 01:02:55 PM »
Based on my experience with using tempera during school, it stays water-soluble even after it has dried, and also behaves powdery/flakey, so I would imagine it would immediately flake off if you touched a pony that was painted with it, if it ever stayed on the smooth plastic surface to begin with. Unfortunately I cannot imagine it working on ponies in any way... As Skeen has said, you'll need acrylics.

Off Topic / Re: Can you help me find an online video?
« on: December 12, 2019, 01:26:30 PM »
That was super depressing... 😭😭😭
My thoughts exactly! It made me cry...
And it also reminded me of another video with a similar story: Kiwi! by Dony Permedi
This is also such a depressing video... to think of all that time, all that work, and  the fact that this was what the bird had in mind all along... oh no, I'm crying again

Isn't she from that weird line that had horses in high heel shoes carrying shopping bags?   I think they were called Struts.
I have never heard of these, but yep, based on a Google search that's what she is!Thank you LadyMoondancer!
They seem... interesting. Both in a good and in a bad way :P I'll have to look them up (once our connection is fixed. It took me a few tries to post this reply...).

Who's the white horsie in the very back right with a reddish brown mane? I love the shape of her head  :lovey: very stylized!
I was about to say rehaired Prancie from the La Dee Da Fairytale Dance "Cinderella and Prancie" playset, but now that I googled it to verify, she isn't Prancie. Now I'm also curious, as she seems veeeeeery familiar, but I cannot put my finger on where from...

I just sent you a request Sora! :)

Anyone else just get an update that says the Pokemon storage has been expanded to 3000?
I remember seeing this message a couple of weeks ago. I believe it only referred to the possible capacity - you'll still need to buy extra 50+ storages individually, but earlier there was an overall limit. Only guessing though, as I never even reached 4 digit in storage :D

How is everyone doing with the game recently? I have to admit that I've recently become a little bored with it (and the friend event was disappointing to me - this is exactly the occasion during which I was wishing to have the possibility to do remote trading...), but I like the current Evolution Event, as a lot of Pokémon that are normally rare around here are popping up more often. I'm the happiest about Burmy, Gligar and Ralts appearing more often, as I haven't yet had enough candy to evolve any of these. I also managed to catch a Magmar (there were 2, sadly I didn't have the chance to get the other one), who I also haven't yet managed to evolve. Now I have enough candy to evolve 2 Burmies, and I don't need a lot more to evolve the rest either. I'm hoping to encounter some more of these Pokémon, but if not, at least I am close enough to be able to use rare candies or walk a few kilometres to make up for the difference.
