so I've been told that Assassinkitty has received her pony, and to post some pictures of her. I was an idiot when I was packing things up and neglected to include a note (and I was just getting good at doing that!). Sadly, she didn't make it in one piece, which I'm very upset/sad/embarassed about, but here's how she's *supposed* to look. visitors can't see pics , please register or loginSo... AK raised barn owls, and I wanted to make a lovely barn owl pony for her. I called her Ex Libris, which is Latin for "from the books", because after I started working on her mask, her colors reminded me of my collection of ancient books - the inner parts of the pages are creamy white, but the the edge of the paper is a darker, golden brown. visitors can't see pics , please register or loginAs you can see, she developed a crack in her mask while I was rooting her hair, because I absolutely can't properly sculpt before rooting. visitors can't see pics , please register or loginShe's been painted with acrylics and blushed with artist pastel.

She's so amazingly pretty in real life, and I imagine that if I had been making wings like that, the amount of swearing that would be heard coming from my workspace would be legendary.

Having worked with Instamorph in the past, I'd say use it as a last resort because unless you're doing something very simple, it's terrible. I bought it as to try and use for wings, and ended up using it to make a couple of business card holders at a con because it's just terrible to try and shape into anything. Plus, it sticks to ponies, and removing it rips their vinyl.

I'm rather picky about pictures, so I'd rather post the pics I take of the pony before shipping, than the often cluttered and non-flattering pictures from a box opening. Call me crazy, but that's my opinion.
