Customs / Re: 10 Customs in 30 Days - Challenge has begun!
« on: November 12, 2012, 01:47:00 PM »
Ugh, I am gona be slowed down a touch. I went to the doc today and was told I have a double ear infection and a sinus infection. Yay me x.x Wigwam is just about finished as are his accessories. I can't use my airbrush while I am sick so I have to paint by hand and sand out the brush marks. Oh joy...

Maybe I can find a yellow bait pony and avoid an FBR on that one...

He is so cute RJ!. I cant decide on a pet for Barnacle. I'll have to look through them again and see if I have anything that matches. I sadly do not have any parrots or monkeys.

If your having trouble with apoxie you can mix lotion with it. It softens it up and makes it less sticky and extends the drying/setting time by at least an hour. You can also try Miliput. This stuff works pretty well. Fimo soft isn't an air dry, but it works pretty well and bakes at a lower temp.

I think I am gonna finish one tomorrow. Its a re-hair so no worries there. Unfortunately Wigwam is gonna take a while. Apoxie takes forEVER to dry x.x  So anyone else having interesting adventures with their customs yet?

Customs / Re: Blind Bag Painting Issue
« on: November 11, 2012, 06:38:29 PM »
This is actually a pretty common issue with craft paints. Not sure why, but it is. I use the same paints for mine and what I tend to to is apply a thin coat of your paint with a make up sponge smearing it about. You want just a very thin layer. Then whip out the hair dryer and dry it. Once dry you should be able to proceed as normal.

Another option is to take 400-600 grit sand paper and run it all over the pony. I do this with my g4 brushables. It scuffs up the finish on the plastic just enough to help the paint stick

Another option is to apply a thin coat of gesso over the BB. let dry over night before painting. I personally don't like this method, but it is an option for you. Hope this helps.

You know, I After many many trials, I have gotten the accessories down pat. If anyone doesn't feel they can't make them I can do them each for $10. Its just to cover shipping and supplies. It would include the hat, bandana and comb. Let me know if anyone is interested. I would show pics but I can't yet :(

Also, can we show off the accessories at the least? I just wanna show off the hat and brush I made!

You know it would be great to make an owl out of the broken neck pose...given owl's reputation for spinning their heads about. Wither that or a demon possesed pony...

My barnacle was a fluttershy bait *snickers* You totally can't tell though. I have some baby ponies and I am so tempted to make a baby Barnacle just for the fun of it. I am having issues with the hat though. Gonna give it another go today, but so far no luck. On the funnier side of things I forgot he had a yellow stripe in his hair x.x

Snap Dragon, There are AJ's galore in my stores. I live in Indianapolis and would happily pick one up for you and ship it if you don't mind deboxing. Would probably be $7 total. Let me know :D

time isn't quite as important for me. I'm on disability so I have all day everyday to work. the only thing that really good cause a problem is which hair colors but I have a large quantity so maybe not so much. I wasn't able to get the picture to load on my phone so I haven't actually seen him but on average I can probably have ag1 done within a week. I have quite a few g1 phase hanging around my house right now I even have a boy. the boys would be about 50 to start with the up the girls modified and the boys would be 40. shipping anywhere in the US usually start about 5 dollars and goes from there. I do apologize if this post is kind of wonky because I'm using my phone. is airbrushing because I want to make the ponies look like they came out of the box. let me know what you have in mind. also as per generation 3 ponies I have huge box is full of prepped
Bates so that won't be a problem either.

Customs / Sugar Puff 2012 Christmas pony #1
« on: November 05, 2012, 10:00:07 AM »
So with the 10 ponies in 30 days challenge and Christmas coming up I decided to get this lil gal out of my head! Sugar Puff was made from a very poor baby crumpet. This lil gal must have belonged to a VERY artistic child as she was simply covered in markers, crayon, pen and everything else. After a good cleaning what little hair she had left was removed. She received a full body repaint with a pearl finish and all the details were done with acrylics and a new liner brush. Yay liner brush. She has warm puffy ear muffs and leg warmers to keep her toasty and her hair is a mix of white witch...eh a pretty green and lovely red whose names I don't recall x.x

enjoy. If you REALLY must bring her home for Christmas PM me.

I still have these guys for sale if anyone is interested! I would love to do a set as adoptables. I love these challenge ideas. It would be fun to go through and do each of the types of ponies from perfume puff to families to twinkle eyes.
