Pony Corral / Re: The cutie mark crusaders and the tubs of Jelly
« on: April 08, 2012, 04:24:36 AM »
I've known for some years but I remember wondering why Americans would put jelly on a sandwich with peanut butter (although jam and peanut butter doesn't sound much better - sorry! xD)
Jelly in America is jello.

This is also what I thought when I was a kid! I was wondering why the characters on tv's parent would even let them have jelly for lunch! X) Haha, took me a while to realise they ment jam!

Huzzah!
But they only stock Pinkie, RD, Rarity and Twilight by the looks of it D:
Also they have no vegetarian options. Is it possible to just buy the toys by themselves?
I'll just have to arrange a pony hunting trip to mc donalds with my friends! If mc donalds won't let us get the ponies by themselves I can feed the burgers to my friends :P haha!

I was listening to an author talk and he mentioned something about background characters from books/tv/movies being picked up on by the fans and turned into something massive and everyone started yelling out examples, someone in the row right behind me yelled out ":muffin: Pony HOOVES" at the top of their lungs X) I hurt my neck as I turned around so fast! I've also ran into probably 10+ fans at school including a fellow all gen fan, collecter and customiser :D

I got a skull shores Lala today :D I like her hair and face paint most of all the Lalas and her vintage swimsuit is adorable :D I wish I had swimmers as awesome as that! Target also had the Clawd + Lala 2 pack, the classroom dolls and sweet 1600. On Friday I think I saw an abby from a distance but I didn't get time to take a closer look and now all the normal dolls have been wiped off the shelves. Still, super exited that more lines are showing up here in Aus :D

Mattel emailed me back about my broken wave 1 ghoulia today. They said I should try returning her to the shop I bought her from. Completely non-possible. I'll just have to superglue her hand back on. I'm considering using her as the custom bait for a project I've had in mind :P I plan on getting the SS version of her anyway... Still annoyed that her hand won't be movable though.

Edit: I don't know if it's been posted yet but skull shores are in Australian targets! :D Along with a bucketload of pony stuff :)

I was in contact with Mattel Australia a month or so ago because my DotD Lagoona came out of the box with only one fin :/ They didn't offer me anything other than to exchange the doll at the store I bought it from which was not possible as I bought the last one in stock, or I could send it to Mattel for a full refund or exchange for something of equal value - also not possible because I bought DotD Lagoona for a reason  :( So in the end I'm stuck with a semi fin-less Lagoona and nothing from Mattel to make up for it... They were friendly enough but not very helpful.

It may be different for arms though so I'd definitely contact them about it :) Just explain what happened and see what they say.

Thanks for the information! :) Hopefully they can send a spare arm X) That's sad that your Lagoona came without a fin though! Best of luck finding a fin!

My origional ghoulias hand snapped off yesterday :( the little clip in peice snapped off right at the wrist so i can't fix it and I can't get the plastic out of her arm! I'm so dissapointed. I took the other hand off first but now I'm scared to put it back on. I'm going to have to try and glue her broken hand back on :(
Edit: I found an email for their Australian customer service but is it worth contacting them? What should I write? Anyone else have experience with this?

The Dollhouse / Re: How long do doll fads last?
« on: March 12, 2012, 05:37:24 PM »
I don't know, perhaps it will just shrink slightly in the coming years, even once the MH crazyness is over there are still going to be loads of girls who want toys like this. As a kid it seems like me and all my friends only ever played games that involved adventurers on an epic quest or zombie invasions and shapeshifting magic using villains and mad vampires (before they were a fad) We settled for barbie in her hot pink glitter dress and had to imagine her as a monster/adventurer/shapeshifter ourselves :P
I think they will continue as long as mattel can keep coming up with fresh ideas for the line and little girls want monster toys :)

Pony Corral / Re: Hesitations about Putting Your Hoof Down

I'm suprised there's so much controversy for lesson zero. I don't really see how that episode or the most recent one are offensive to people with extreme anxiety. In fact, I am one of those people with major anxiety problems and on both occasions I could really relate to both those characters. In fact, the rest of my friends could relate to Twilights madness in lesson zero as well, all of us having gone /slightly/ crazy over assesment and all of us having our concerns dismissed. It was a good lesson at the end! I also don't see how Fluttershy learning to stand up for herself on things that are important is breaking cannon. I like that they are showing some character development :) I also love the line "No means no." I think it's a wonderful line to use and a great message in todays episode :) Rarity's methods were a bit iffy but I'm not going to let that overshadow a what was otherwise a wonderful episode.

I talk to inanimate objects in my head all the time, not aloud though because if my sister heard me I would never hear the end of it X) My sock monkey is a particularly great listener though :P
