Pony Corral / Re: So had a weird conversation at work about ponies
« on: April 14, 2018, 11:33:02 AM »
Okay so were the ponies toys that belonged to the mother?  Or where the ponies the daughter's from her childhood?  That is a good thing to know.  If they belonged to the daughter then she has a right to get her ponies from home.  If they belonged to the mother then the mother has a right to get the ponies back.  Either way though, I would feel super uncomfortable with this set up as it could get ugly. Yikes.

A lot of parents think that their children's toys were bought by them so they get to decide what happens to them when the kids grow up. I do not share this philosophy.

Then there are the adult kids that think that anything at mom's house is mine too.  Back away slowly I say.

Yes I agree if you are going to sell  you need some sort of scale.  It doesn't mean you have to buy the most expensive thing out there. I actually use a food scale I already had for mailers of one or two ponies, but you will be surprised just how expensive it can be.  The thing is if you are shipping from the USA you will have to pay  more because a pony is more than 1/4 inch thick and that raises the price as whether its in a mailer or not it will then go box rate.  So, it is a good idea to familiarize yourself with these detail like size of the mailer, thickness of the mailer and the weight.  Once you put all of that in to the online website they will tell you exactly how much it will cost to mail whatever you wish to ship to where ever you want it to go.

Oh it looks like pikkupapupata mentioned this and it was under a spoiler and I didn't see it lol.  I need to read through the threads more before I post.  Sorry about that one.  Good luck with your selling. ;)

It's a group project.  Those in charge of the group have done the leg work and found a factory  and are paying them to remake old g1 molds and then producing original characters using molds that look just like g1.  There have been several released thus far.  And now they are even moving on to "modified" g1 molds.  We will be getting a male unicorn this year hopefully.  They tend to cost $25-35 for the adults.  You can join the Facebook group.  Just search hqg1c collector customs.  Or take a look at Clipper's shop.

I'll post some pictures of mine when I get home later.

A male unicorn?!?!

Oh that is a fantastic idea.  We need a male unicorn and pegasus!!

Off Topic / Re: The trivial complaints thread

I have the worst of luck when it comes to buying certain things off ebay.  If I buy for myself I always get it, if I buy for someone else as a gift it magically disappears and doesn't get to me.  Argh I have no explanation on this fact.  The ebay Raven has struck again.

You know what I'm complaining about? Too many cute ponies being made. We want this one and that one and that one. Waah! Boo! Hiss!
If we're not careful, we'll be up to our ears in ponies. What a tragedy that'd be. :silly:

ROFLOL this is me!

You can whine and complain about price and design blah blah not up to your standards, if you don't like it go make your own.

Did anyone complain about price and design ?

Read through the thread: This is always going to happen with just about every pony ever made.  Initially the thread was an inquiry about HQG1C.  I personally really like the HQG1C and have enjoyed purchasing my favorites. ;)

I love my Dasher and can't wait to get my Pepper Jack!
I will admit, I was afraid to join the facebook page because 1. I'm a guy and 2. My pony hobby is a secret from friends and family.  I didn't want them to see me posting pony stuff.  But being a closed group, I have a little sense of freedom and can now mingle with fellow collectors in another social forum.
Looking forward to whatever comes down the line next!

Yea I can totally understand this.  If I was into social media which I am not anymore. I left it a long time ago. I probably would have just created an account for the facebook page to keep it out of my regular account.  That is just me though.  I can't stand social media so this really is not an issue for me.  It is very easy to find out about these ponies on the Arena, TP and checking the ecrater store too.

I understand what you are saying, but I should't have to be told on how to promote and sell ponies

I totally agree with you on this Clipper.  If you are happy with the way you have chosen to promote and sell your ponies on the platforms you have chosen then that is just fine.  I would like to say that I don't use social media at all and, I have had no problem finding out about these ponies and what is available.   I check the ecrater store and all the pony peeps I know seem to always mention it.    I am really glad these ponies are available to us and thank you for selling them.  I have enjoyed the ones I purchased and look forward to new ones.  I have noticed that there are several people to contact on the Arena about these ponies. I just have not had a problem at all.  So, I wanted to drop in and just say thank you, but this new pony is fabulous.

Pony Corral / Puffy Stickers Price Check
« on: April 05, 2018, 07:51:13 AM »
I was wondering what the value of these three little stickers I have are.  The one on the Baby Cuddles has that brown like mark on it, but I have no idea if that was factory or some sort of other age mark.  It has always been that way.  The Moonstone sticker is on a different backing, but it is still sticky.  Are these worth anything?  How much?

Pony Corral / Re: Is NBBE Half-Note rare?
« on: April 03, 2018, 10:44:48 AM »
I don't think she is rare really.  I am not an expert though.  When I heard about her and did a search I found her pretty quick several years ago.  I bought mine from someone on the Arena outside the USA.  In fact I am almost positive I saw one for sale recently online at auction.

Yes those kind of experiences do really affect a seller.  I have been through that too and other things.  I think being cautious is much better than being vulnerable as a seller.  Anything is possible.  So, I think it's fine for you to make assumptions and be concerned or see warning signs that suggest something might be up.  It is good to be open to the idea it may not be the case.  You are 100% right though in the fact that your buyer should have contacted you before leaving feedback and, they should have communicated.  Whether this was a lack of etiquette,  immaturity, a way to get something for nothing or plain rudeness; it is a difficult thing to deal with.  The fact that ebay has set things up where buyers can act like the one your described is very frustrating. I will validate the fact that when these really difficult buyers come a long and do these things, it makes a seller more nervous in the future.  It is hard to shake those really bad experiences.  I still remember one in particular that happened to me that really was quite awful.  It is so nice that some buyers and sellers never have problems with ebay buyers and sellers.  It is quite a different story when you have a list of issues you have had that have made selling or even buying a little daunting at times.  You did nothing wrong at all Lancer.  PS I love your siggy by the way!!

Off Topic / Re: Does anyone here collect Star Wars?
« on: March 31, 2018, 01:34:05 PM »
Yes I think you are right.  We are sitting on many of these as we bought extras of just about every figure we could.  All of ours are in boxes moc.  No one wants them. Blaaaaaa  My R2 is a SW fan.  I don't collect them myself.  There is no value on a toy from childhood as far as I am concerned.  There are things that I know I re-bought that I had as a child. Maybe now no one wants them, but it brought me the most joy having them back.
