I like the sound of rescheduling as well, I was really looking forward to this and wouldn't like to miss it!

The blizzard may complicate things for us here as well. Our little Kia gets very little clearance if there's snow on the ground, and this is Erick's first winter in MN so he's not too confident a driver in snowy conditions. If it's seeming like it'll be heavy, we may not be able to make it :( Was so sad to hear about this snowstorm over the radio!

I know that pants requirement will hit Erick hard ;)

Are we going to do a show and tell? I have a finished plush I would like to show!

Ah, I was hoping for a general release GoH Rarity and Fluttershy. I suppose having a truly fabulous articulated herd will not be possible. At this point, all that interests me now is coming from Yhe Bridge Direct. Glory will definitely be mine :)

Yes, Erick will be coming! I would sure hope he is anyway, because he is my ride haha. He forgot to take Saturday off so his job did schedule him for that day, but he's going to try to have someone cover for him or, at the very least, take a half day. So there's a chance we may be late, coming around 1:00...But I do plan on bringing cupcakes again!

Pony Corral / Re: Pony community awareness groups?
« on: February 05, 2018, 08:47:25 AM »
I believe AI-1701 is referring to the ToonKriticy2k drama. It's not very arena appropriate, but a search on YouTube or brony sites will show what's up.

I personally don't flaunt the fact that I collect ponies, and I don't see the need to publically...And if it's about making people aware of the pony community, I feel like that's best done on a one-on-one situation where you already know the person, know their interests and know if it'd be something they would have interest in. I see a lot of potential pushback coming from grown adults being told by strangers that it's cool to collect pony toys.

I think it's obvious you mean very well though, and you want what is best for the community. That passion is great! Unfortunately though, getting us all to agree on something is like trying to herd a litter of kittens, lol. We're squirmy, don't stay in place and we go in any random direction. But just because we don't always agree, it doesn't mean your ideas aren't welcome!

Pony Corral / Re: Does anyone care about G2 ?
« on: February 01, 2018, 04:33:35 PM »
There is currently a wax prototype and hard urethane cast of a G2 pony up on eBay. It's a $650 BiN. Horse News, of all places, posted about it.

I hope someone here nabs it!!

There was someone on here a few years back that was making a 3D model of a Takara! I think for 3D printing. I don't remember who it was, though...

69
Wouldn't the HQG1C group need a sacrifical Takara in order to make the mold? I guess that could happen if someone happened to have a baity one they'd be willing to give up...But the moldmaking process would probably be more expensive than normal, since it's jointed. It wouldn't be in just two parts like most ponies are.

My mom lived in Japan in the 80's, she'd never heard of or seen Takara ponies. I think everyone else is right. I can't see this doing well being distributed on a large scale.

I love your collection! I was very happy to see you have a jumping Tawny in here - I found her at Goodwill with hair in terrible condition, and I remembered this thread. Those nifty legs sure don't make her cooperative during a spa...Did you have to take yours apart to remove the voice mechanism? Or did you keep it in there and not get any water in it?

Apologies for the misunderstanding, Aurora! Yup, I definitely found my way here, lol.

I can be marked as "coming" now, assuming there aren't any crazy snowstorms right before then (Erick isn't too confident of a Minnesota driver yet, so inclement weather is tricky for us). After the last meet, I actually restarted working on a stuffed pony I started sewing in 2012, so I will have her to bring too :) There's a clear difference between what's old and what's new though, so she isn't perfect, lol.

Eta: I can also bring cupcakes again! And I have a Medley too, so I will also bring her along.

Pony Corral / Re: New 35th Anniversary Collector Ponies Spotted! Pics!

Yes I am certain some have restocked! We bought out the first case from the store my boyfriend works at, and just a few days ago I went back and another set was sitting on the endcap with the other retro items. So they definitely restocked. Since I opened my first Blossom, I bought another one to keep in box, and left the rest for others.

Hi, currently I (and Erick) am/are a maybe! It's very close to a yes, but I want to get a final confirmation first. If so, I would try to bring cupcakes again :)

And yes Aurora, I don't believe I got a PM?

Hah, it would be funny if they did various ponies like popular fan favorites, TAFs, Twinkle eyes, etc...all in the same collector's pose  A move I could see Hasbro themselves doing to skimp on production costs! Thankfully it's licensed...

Pony Corral / Re: DHX hit with major data breach (beware of spoilers)
« on: January 11, 2018, 05:19:13 PM »
I also spent a good number of hours at that other site reading the thread these leaks came out in. Regarding the whole "Rarity = British" thing, I believe that was DHX summarizing the voice for current, FIM Rarity, not the new one in this future iteration. Which, honestly, may be even worse, because it's a Transatlantic accent, not British. You'd think they would know how to describe it correctly, but I guess it just happens to be as simple as refined = British?

Also, with them casting Tiffany Haddish as AJ...Another thing I read in that other nameless site was they hope to use celebrities for the main cast in the 2020 movie that will launch the new generation. However,  the tv series won't use the same voice talent, but "sound alikes". Which sounds really...cheap, lol.
