Something just occurred to me. Will DnD, Ghostbusters, Transformers and Power Rangers get their own unique figures too?

A ghostly Transformer
A golden knight Power Ranger
A wizard ghost being sucked into a ghost trap
A TF Megazord

Otherwise this crossover is gonna be awfully one-sided.

Hasbro has been having crossovers with their "boy" lines for a while now. Off the top of my head there's been a Transformer/GI Joe crossover and a Transformer/Ghostbusters crossover as well as lots of Potato Head crossovers.

Yes I know that. But they're making it sound like this whole thing will be one big crossover

I was starting to think this is so heavily MLP as a way to keep the MLP brand  present in the general public’s consciousness while we are in between shows/gens.  Speaking of which, where is Pony Life.  Is that show ever coming out?

Slightly increase the size of said eye

That looks so much better!  Why can’t Hasbro manage that?

I consider these retro molds. Just like I consider all if the “new” g1 clip art retro.  Because it was designed with the g1 aesthetic in mind but is not an exact copy.  It was designed to appeal to fans of g1.*

Retro:  designed to have the “vibe” of something past.  I.e.  a brand new pair of bell bottoms designed to give the impression of 70s bell bottoms but with current design elements.

Repro (reproduction:). Designed to closely or exactly match the original.  I.e. Basic Fun ponies or a brand new pair of bell bottoms made to exactly look like a 70s era pair.

Vintage: old or the original.  The original pair of bell bottoms made in the 70s.

* But also maybe children?  Perhaps they were trying to bridge the gap between G4 and G1?  I mean that is literally what they did with the first set of ponies released on this mold.

These are interesting!  I personally would have liked a few brighter colors.  They are definitely the retro rainbow mold with molded hair.  I’ll pick up a pack if they aren’t too expensive or hard to track down.

I love the thrill of the hunt!  I don’t buy online a great deal.  I love prowling flea markets and Craigslist  and even though finds are rare, it makes it all the more sweet when finding a pony in person.  And when a new g4 or basic fun pony is out, I’m prowling all the stores.

I also find satisfaction in cleaning up the ponies I find though sometimes it takes me a little bit to get started.

Cool!  I’d love to have something easy like this to keep track of my collection!

My Target did away with the Basic Fun endcap.  The pound puppies and ponies are gone!  I couldn't even find them on clearance anywhere.  Hope that doesn't mean I won't get a new Gusty.

My Target took the retro end cap down only to move it a few isles down.  Maybe that is what is happening?

You have quite the flutter collection.  Congrats!

Additional Basic Fun photos.  Sadly, there seem to have been no other ponies at the booth.  And at least one person on Facebook claimed that the Basic Fun people said that they where having trouble finding retailers so this might be the last set.

Still not a single pony life Rainbow Dash. I was hoping for mane 6 brushables, and I’m still let down.

That says a lot doesn’t it.   I guess there’s that nom nom pillow

I agree that the display is really small.

In other news, here are some pictures by bizarro_toys on Instagram of the Basic Fun ponies

Hasbro have revealed their big electronic pony of the year, a Princess Celestia:

What's that orange thing with the green eyeball in the lower corner?

That’s a good catch!  Looks like it has a huge ear?  That with the color makes me think something like a deer or rabbit?

There's also a typical set with the Mane 6 and Princesses coming out, for... $90?! I hope that's a placeholder... I don't think a set like that has ever been that expensive. They're usually only like $60 or 70 at most; even the big fashion style ones, I think.

There's no information on it further than its name and price. No pictures or description yet...: https://www.abgee.co.uk/my-little-pony-mega-friendship-collection.html

"My Little Pony Mega Friendship Collection". "Mega" I feel implies a large number... I wonder who all is in it? I hope it's not just the princesses and Mane 6... with maybe Potion Nova thrown into the mix.

I predicted we would see DJ P0n-3 during the fair and I was right about that. We haven't seen her brushable yet, though, just that figure. I wonder if we'll get a Minty brushable too. I can imagine that they'll show off the EQG Fashion Squad set of her at least.

I just found out those unicorns aren't minifigures/blind bags, but are full-sized 3 inch figures!

Your right!  I find it a little concerning that the continued trend towards non-brushable ponies.

Re: the big multipack.  I think it’s guaranteed to have the mane 6 but maybe it will be like the last TRU exclusive pack that came with 12 ponies.  On the other hand, I’d rather not be tempted to buy large packs even if it’s “only half-filled” with mane 6.  So hear me Hasbro!  Either big packs should be a minimum 75% new characters or save the new characters for single releases!

So news has already started to flow from the New York Toy Fair this year!  I thought it might be good to have a single place to compile any announcements or pictures found.

So far MLPMerch has posted two of the new items that Hasbro has officially announced.
A large talking Celestia and a pack of blind bag correction, 3 inch molded mane sized unicorns
