Pony Corral / Re: What would you do?
« on: January 05, 2019, 04:19:31 PM »
You want to come and help dust my ponies? There are only another 200 left to dust.
Fellow collectors I'd be fine with handling my ponies but would probably prefer that certain customs weren't handled too much.  I don't really even handle them often.    Pretty much everything else you'd be welcome to look at or pick up and brush or play with.

I don't like letting little ones into my pony room.  I didn't mind before but I had one written on plus they'd want ponies and I'm sorry but they aren't for you to take home.  I feel bad then that they came in to see this "wonderland" thinking they can take some home but have to leave empty handed.  So... no more kids in unless they of an age that they understand that they can come look but the ponies ALL stay.

Pony Corral / Re: What are your pony goals for 2019?
« on: January 05, 2019, 03:01:44 PM »
1.  Buy a Slugger to complete my Big Brothers.

2.  Not go as crazy with buying at this year's Pony Fair (I came home with 70 ponies.  It was my first fair and I went a bit nuts).

3.  Get back into serious customizing.  I started around 20 years ago and work and then health issues got in the way so I stopped.

4.  Buy a pony from a country I don't already have.  Some countries will always be off limits with their prices...South African ponies I'm lookin' at you.   Got a great SA Sparkler custom from Pandabearchan though that looks awesome.

5.  Do a bit of reorganizing of the collection.  I'm up around 550 and it's looking rather crowded.  Maybe need to "cull the herd" a bit.  *cries*

In another thread the stripes on the manes of some Glory, Moondancer and Sunbeam have instead of their two colours blended together instead of a stripe.

While G1 will always be tops for me I definitely am still collecting G4.   Amazon Canada currently has some insanely cheap prices so I've made some recent purchases (Seapony Fluttershy $2.34, plush bobbles $3, Celestia collector figure $8, playsets for under $8) and today found a Blossomforth on the shelf of a grocery store.

Wow. That's a great collection of fakies.  I've always loved the Enchanted Kingdom horses and foals.
I really like those Lanard unicorns you have.   So many cool items I haven't seen before.

I was only joking about Princess Tiffany since she's already white on white but wow, she looks amazing pearlized.  Beautiful job.

How about Princess Tiffany?   :devious:  Just kidding.
I think Gusty would be interesting with a deep green body and white hair with red stripe.  Or even red body with white hair and green stripe.

There's a mint in package piggy pony on eBay right now with a price of around $7,400 Canadian dollars....  If that one sells I don't think I've seen one go that high before.

I unboxed Windy but can't keep her in my pony room I spend time in because she's too scented.  Kept the rest in their boxes.  I figure with time the scent will probably be less strong.

Maybe the discoloured ones were just some bad batches since it's not a lot with issues.

OOAK in this case isn't custom ponies.   It's ponies found that maybe were prototypes or the factory did a boo boo like Reverse Gusty where her mane is red with a green stripe instead of green with red stripe.    Or a pony where maybe there were others made but there are no known others that have been found or maybe just one other.   I'm thinking of the pink haired Argentina Gusty with gold leafs that appeared earlier in the year.

Bay Breeze might have been a very limited number but price also depends on how desirable she is.   G1 ponies seem to fetch much higher prices than any G2, G3 or G4 ponies.  So Bay Breeze doesn't have that in her favour being G3.

For regular production ponies I would have picked Greek Ladybird, Takaras and South African ponies.   They are all priced far out of my budgets but they aure are pretty.  I'd love to have a South African.

I hope the Arena is around for many, many moons.  I love FB and am in a number of groups but it's just so hard to keep track of topics, finds posts etc.  This is so much easier in a forum.

It's a pretty great group in here I'd say with no drama.   It's a feel good place to be.  <3

Those ice cream ponies are really cute.  Where are they from?

I love what you did.  I would for sure buy them, especially Luna if the actual toys looked like these.   Luna's design in the show is so beautiful so it frustrates me so much that we don't get figures that have those gorgeous deep colours she has.

I get the reasons why they're unhappy with their work situation but at the same time I feel it's unfair that those of us who don't work for Canada Post are being held hostage/used as bargaining chips.   The stike has been hard on folks with small businesses who depend on the mail to survive, especially during what is normally a busy season for sales.   It's also harder for folks who are disabled or otherwise aren't able to easily get around and depend on online shopping for a lot of needs.

Whoa!!!!   That's amazing.  I'd want to use it all year long.
Went to the Canadian Home Depot though and they currently want $169 for it and that's on sale.  Maybe there will be some for Boxing Day sales.
