Goodness, I had no idea Mimic went for so much these days. I've got her, but only because she was part of a friend's childhood collection that they kindly passed on to me. She's a lovely pony, and I can see why people really want her, but I don't think I'd have bought her for so much money.

I haven't watched it in a while, but I used to enjoy "Dance Moms". I'm not quite sure why, as I've never been into dancing myself, and I certainly wouldn't want all that drama in my life, but I enjoyed the music and the costumes and all that. I guess it comes from being in the drama club at school. The whole atmosphere is just so nice.

My favourite is my partner's home-made pizza; we usually have it with mushrooms and mozzarella. For frozen pizza, I also like mushroom, or sometimes I just get a plain margherita and add extra veggies, preferrably slices of yellow bell pepper, and extra cheese. Super yummy!

Happy New Year, everyone! Here's to hoping that 2021 will be very dull and boring indeed.

They're all lovely pieces. You can tell how much thought went into them. Well done!

Here in The Netherlands we are in lockdown until the 19th of January. We are free to go out for a walk and that's practically it because everything else is closed. You can only get groceries and pet food.
We are also restricted on how many people to receive at home. 2 and with Christmas 3.
No fireworks on New Years Eve.

As for the weather, nothing special to expect. It's rainy, cold but no snow. We haven't had a white Christmas in a decade.

*waves* Hey neighbour!

Here in Brussels, we're all very much used to the restrictions by now. The rules are quite strict, compared to other European countries, but overall, most people stick to them. Non-essential shops were allowed to re-open a few weeks ago, but mostly, I'm staying away from all shops, unless I really need to buy something I can't get online.

The weather is mostly rainy and grey, with some sunnier days. We definitely don't expect to have snow over Christmas - it's at least 10 degrees too warm, for a start.

I'm sad not to be able to celebrate Christmas with my mum in Germany, but the risk is simply too big. At least neither she nor I will have to celebrate alone, and that's something I'm very grateful for. Many people aren't so lucky.

I bought a couple of DVDs from a second-hand store. I just came home and saw that the store assistant didn't put one of the DVDs into its box. Now, I know the store won't make a fuss about either giving me the DVD or refunding my money, so that's not the issue. I'm just annoyed that I'll have to go back to the store, when I'm so busy at the moment and *really* don't have time for this.

I always shut down my laptop when I'm done, unless I'm going to use it again shortly (i.e. within the next hour or so).

My mum's friend's daughter got married last weekend, and they asked for donations for their honeymoon (as an alternative to wedding gifts, not instead of them). I don't think they had a website, though - I think people just gave them cash on the day.

I'd go back to the 90s / early 2000s and buy so many books! There are dozens of books I used to get out of the library, and now I either can't find them anymore because I don't remember the titles, or they're really pricey.

"No worries. See you tomorrow!" - To a friend that my partner and I were meeting for tea the following day.

Off Topic / Re: What book are you currently reading?

Edit: I'm currently reading The Secret Dreamworld of a Shopaholic by Sophie Kinsella, I got halfway through What Katy Did Next by Susan Coolidge and forgot about it, I really need to finish it, I was really enjoying it.

I've read the Shopaholic series several times. They're books that I turn to when I need a bit of light-hearted fun.

I'm currently reading Jodi Picoult's latest novel, "A spark of light". It's very gripping, and I like the way it's told: It starts at the end and then moved backwards hour by hour, explaining how the events came to happen. I thought it would be confusing, but it's really good.
