Wanted! / [please remove] Pony Friends Forever Con Pony
« on: September 28, 2022, 10:38:03 AM »
Would anyone be able to pick me up a Blue Bonnet and any con exclusive pins/coins/merch? I will happily pay extra for the trouble, as well as paying for them.

Edit: Got it!

I found Crystalline and Sweet Blossom for only $5 at a flea market. And one of the vendors I give my duplicates to looks out for me when he buys his toys to stock and gave me almost the whole Slumber Party set of ponies (just missing Pink Dreams). And I found several neat pony displays online!

I want to frame them all one day but for now only Bon Bon is:

But it looks like I got Cotton Candy from the first few seconds of the Show Stable Ad, the unicorns from the Dream Castle ad (and Butterscotch for some reason?), and Melody and Bon Bon from My Little Pony Tales.

I've never collected animation cels and sketches before these so it was quite a lot to learn but in spite of the previous worrying about every potential threat to them, they did put a genuine smile on my face when I pulled them out. <3

I may put them in the brag arena sometime, then  ^.^ I've got three more headed my way and then I can take group pictures.

Pony Corral / Early G1 Advertisements

So I have a few sketches and animation cels from those early G1 ads (ex. Show Stable) and I was curious if anyone knew who the artists were for the early ones and what made them change art styles/artists after a few ads?

I was going to share pictures of them with some information but I know next to nothing.

I guess you could always just translate the My Little Wiki? There are checklists out there in PDF form but I don't think that really counts for what you are trying to do.

Not MLP but: Years ago my grandmother was going through things for a yard sale that she was offering to me first and had a cute teddy bear in a cup that grandpa had given her or maybe the other way around? (both are still alive, thank goodness) when they were younger. I normally would gladly keep those sorts of things but I had a brief moment of, nah, that was special to them, I want it to go to completely unrelated parties to make new memories with...and I still think about it every now and then. :(

I’m watching re-runs of friends (love that show!) and putting stuff up for sales (non-pony). So far I’ve sold for 200$. I usually spend summer time sorting out stuff I don’t need anymore. It’s kind of fun!

That sounds awesome! I've been trying to sell some pony and nonpony stuff to clear up the house this week but I am sure I'm not going to get nearly that much. Here's hoping, though!

I'm jealous of all of you doing chores and personal projects. For me, I am going to be at work and then trying to catch up on things and seeing my boyfriend. Will probably take a walk.

In my apparent goal to re read the entire Redwall series in chronological order, I am now reading The Bellmaker from that series.

Koudoawaia - Have you seen the three Redwall animated series runs? Redwall, Mattimeo and Martin the Warrior. I've seen the first two but not the third as it was hugely expensive to get the DVDs back in the day but I think it's on Amazon now.

Redwall was one of my favorite book series in middle school. I remember hearing when the author passed away. I haven't checked recently but I remember the shows were all uploaded on YouTube years ago. I don't remember if I watched Mattimeo, but I watched at least the other two that way. I think it was even the first thing I ever watched on YouTube. I do dream of getting the DVDs but I do remember them being very expensive even just a few years ago.

I've currently been reading Manga Classic adaptations of books. I went through Jane Eyre, Great Expectations, The Adventures of Tom Sawyer, and Pride and Prejudice this past week.

I don't remember if I read Tom Sawyer as the regular book before but I read the others and it was nice to refresh them in my mind. Plus they all look so good in manga form.

She was one of my three first G1s I got from a coworker (along with Baby Starburst and Firefly) whose daughter that owned them was my sister's teacher. She was in the worst shape, though. She's got the usual terrible regrind and no wings, and I've been working on cleaning her mold spots for a long time now to where most of them are gone. She's got a special place in my collection because of all of that.
