Those are pretty good! I love your talent for styling hair! Are you planning on painting the symbol onto Surprise? I didn't see a cutie mark in the pictures of her.

Thanks Puuush! Yeah, I love green and pink together, but I was a little afraid that this was going to turn out a bit too flashy. But I think the pale pink in the hair helped balance out the hot pink in the eyes and all came together.

Really, Ponymonsters? I don't think I saw it, do you have a picture or a link? I love g1 ponies! When I wanted to do a Christmas pony, I originally was going to do candy canes for the symbol, but I thought it would be too much like Peppermint Twist from the show. lol. So I went with Holly instead. And like I said, holly is so classic! Anyway, send me pictures of the one you did. Let's show the Christmas ponies a little love!
By the way, thank you for resizing the image. How do I do that, anyway?

I think the transfers looked awesome, but I think maybe the body color and hair color aren't working together? And there is something off about the eyes. I can't quite put my finger on it....maybe the lack of eyeliner/lashes? maybe.... And I agree with puuush, the purple glitter paint in the ears and on the wings might be a little much. but keep working on it. You'll get it.

Thanks everyone. I can't really take credit for anything hair related besides the fact that I styled it and recognized it as a winning combination so I let it stay put. As I said, the stock pony already had what I was looking for as far as hair colors and body color so I just changed the paint on the eyes and cutie mark and then styled the hair. Sometimes I get lucky that way. I love holly and while people don't use it in wreaths as much here, because we are surrounded by evergreen trees and fir branches stay nice longer after being cut, I think that it's just such a classic Christmas symbol. And it looks so unlike any other leafy plant, really. But I'm glad the whole thing came together like it did when I first imagined it.

Thank you all so much. I was really unsure when I chose the colors, especially when the green came out so pearly. I mean, I thought it would be shimmery but this came out REALLY shimmery. But in the end I think it came together ok.
I always liked bleeding heart flowers too and Kalavista said she liked pink so I thought It would work nicely.

This was one of the Christmas Presents I sent to Kalavista. Now that she has them, I can post pictures! (The pictures in this montage were lovingly taken by Kalavista and sent to me. I was in such a hurry to get her sent out that I forgot to take pictures of her after I redid the eyes.) visitors can't see pics , please register or loginShe was originally a g4 pony. I can't remember the name. But all I really did with this was repaint the eyes and the cutie marks and then style the hair. While normally I would repaint and rehair, this pony just seemed Christmasy enough on it's own that I really didn't have to do much to it to get it to where I wanted it to be.

A few months ago there was an MAOPK for Kalavista. She got two parts from me. the first part came right away and was a sympathy card. The second part was this pony. It took me awhile to get it sent out though. I ended up sending it with the Christmas presents I sent her. Anyway, she has it now so I can post pictures. (Kalavista was nice enough to send me the pictures with the white background used for this montage.) visitors can't see pics , please register or loginShe was a BBE baby pony. The eyes were all rusty so I popped them out and filled them with Apoxie Sculpt. I then repainted them to look like normal eyes. She was repainted with Acrylics from Folk Art and A/A. She was rehaired with a blend of Fairy's Breath and Virgin Snow from Dollyhair.com

If assassin kitty hadn't offered, I would have. But I think you should go with Assassin Kitty. Her work is always top shelf!
