I have her! And I like her so much I dressed up as her at the Fair today. Her colors are so eye-searingly awesome.

Price Check Archives / Re: g3 id and price check please.

Row 1:
Mistletoe (Target Winter '04)
Winterberry
Royal Rose
Twilight Twinkle
G3.5 Rainbow Dash of some sort

Row 2:
Tiramisu (one half of sister set)
Tulip Twinkle
Hidden Treasure
Fizzy Pop
Glitter Glide

Row 3:
Seascape
Lulabelle III (bonus to Lily Lightly)
Rainbow Swirl I
Marshmellow Coco (Target Winter '04)
Daisy Paisley

Not sure what loose G3s are going for these days, maybe $3-4? Perhaps a little more for the pegasus ponies, especially Tiramisu, and the ones with their accessories. I think Seascape and Fizzy Pop are pretty popular due to their bold colors, but I don't know if that translates to higher prices. A Daisy Paisley with perfect gradient paint might fetch a bit more as well.

Pony Corral / Re: washing mlp hair
« on: May 31, 2015, 01:10:00 PM »
I use liquid soap on hair and body for washing. For conditioning I use the L'Oreal post-haircoloring tubes of stuff, since my everyday conditioner is silicone free and not as effective. In general, I don't buy products especially for ponies, so I use whatever is on hand.

If I'm fixing up a pony to pass on, I do like to use fragrance-free products if possible. I get headaches from strong scents, and I know other people can be even more sensitive to that kind of thing.

If it's the clear, iridescent tinsel, I try to avoid stretching and heat, both of which tend to make it even more unruly in my experience. The colored metallic tinsel is sturdier, so I don't make as much of an effort to treat it differently than the rest of the hair.

Want her! I'm crossing my fingers to find a really nice Pinwheel at the Fair this year.

Price Check Archives / Re: PC for G3 playsets

The Fashion Fun studio wasn't released in the United States, so it probably won't be easy to get second-hand. There are a couple up on ebay.co.uk and ebay.de, but it's (predictably) expensive to ship even a smaller playset to the US. Maybe one of the European members here can help you out? Good luck! :)

Pony Corral / Re: POTD 5/29/2015 Kimono
« on: May 30, 2015, 11:32:42 AM »
I will always have a soft spot in my heart for Kimono. She was the first G3 I bought, along with Wysteria, Sweetberry, and Rainbow Dash. (I was only going to get one at a time, but I got too excited about the Glorious Return Of MLP and blew right through my monthly fun budget.) I love her pose and colors and her calm, wise personality.

I love her! There are only a handful of G2s that I want, and this beauty tops the list!

(prettier than G3 Silver Rain there I said it)

Pony Corral / Re: Brown eyed ponies!

G3 Chocolate Delight has beautiful brown (and pink) eyes.

G4 baby Pound Cake has brown eyes too, I think.

Seems like ponies are much more likely to have brown eyes if they have dessert-related symbols.

Pony Corral / Re: Sunfading obstructed areas?
« on: May 26, 2015, 03:33:25 PM »
I sunfade in hydrogen peroxide solution (4 parts water, one part H2O2) over a large mirror. Wrap the hair in tinfoil to keep it covered from the sun. Good luck! :)

Wait... Do you really use a 20% hydrogen peroxide solution? That's like 60 vol, isn't it? Do you order it from a chemical supply company? Surely at that concentration it would strip out the pink of her hair whether or not UV was involved.

Or do you mean you use 4 parts water to 1 part topical hydrogen peroxide which is itself ~3% H2O2? That seems fairly weak to be able to get marks faded off in a day, but the other option is insanely strong, so I'm confused.

The black high tops with the Fairy Brights look similar to the pink ones, but they are actually a significantly different construction.

Love the glittery accents, but I have no idea what I'd wear them with. I do have the black Fairy Bright print slippers though. Not glittery, but still pretty cute. ^.^

I don't think Iron Fist does wide widths, sorry. :( Their sizes are pretty limited. I don't think they even do half sizes.

Pony Corral / Re: Need help!!!

I'm sorry to hear about your ponies. The bad news is that these issues are mostly inevitable and irreversible. :( There's very little you could have done to prevent this from happening, although hot, humid climates do tend to hasten things along. The good news is that neither of their problems are contagious, so it's okay to keep them with your other ponies.

If you want to keep the original tinsel for Midnight Dream, you can either try to very gently pull out the strands and add them to your replacement hair plugs, or if they're glued in too tightly for that, you might be able to do a tension reroot if you firmly hold the tinsel out of the way with one hand while doing it. Or you can rehair her from the inside the old-fashioned way with a needle and thread.

The initial problems we were seeing for hair break down were specific to the neon colours - firstly pink and then quickly followed by greens and yellows.

What's this now? The only problems with brittle hair I've experienced are the neon pink and the peachy orange. I've never even heard of neon green or neon yellow snapping off before. Actually, I can't think of a G3 with either of those hair colors, so I don't know who among my herd to check. Coconut Cream maybe? Kiwi Tart? This is pretty distressing information.

I prefer Melody without the skates, but I love that stripe of yellow in her mane... I can't decide which one I want, but I definitely want one!

Pony Corral / Re: Show me pony mugs!

I just remembered I also have one of those G4 plastic travel cups with the straw! I forget who's on it though... it's blue, so probably Rainbow Dash? I haven't gotten much use out of it yet, obviously. :P

I have to ask where did you find the Starshine mug, MoonbeamStar? I looked all over for it but couldn't figure out where you purchased them from.

As far as I know, the Starshine mugs were almost exclusively found at Ross. I think someone also found them at a store called Gabe's, which is only in Ohio and a few other places in the Appalachian area.

It's great to hear that ModCloth is carrying them now! I had to get mine directly from the UK, which was a pretty penny in shipping. Gift Republic makes a cute enameled metal version of that mug too, but I am a lazy American and need something I can put in the microwave/dishwasher. :P

ETA: Thanks pupp3rmint! There are things I would do differently in hindsight, but I had fun making them. :)

ETA2: Oops, I forgot one! I have the Gusty/June Rose mug from the cocoa gift set too, but it's dirty at the moment.

I'm glad Iron Fist is licensing new pieces of vintage MLP art! I hope they use the Sundae Best print on a dress, since I missed out on the one with the Sweetberry/Happy Tails mash-up.

I also kinda like these Yum Yum flip flops they're making now, but I don't know why they decided to put clear pushpin heads(??) on them. And all the pony goodness is hidden under your feet when you're wearing them! :P The matching tote is gorgeous though!
