Customs / Re: Not really customs, but pony costumes and a sculpture

Dude dude dude. Those aren't just pony costumes. They're TSUBASA pony costumes! That is just beyond cool. (I cosplay from Tsubasa, myself :P ) Very well done, they look great! Little Fluttershy is cute too :)

My plush patterns! I had the patterns for Moondancer and Blossom. I got both at different times so they should be stored in different places, but I can't find either! There are only so many places I would have put something like that-- where on earth could they have gone?? I have some nice fuzzy yellow fabric to make myself a Posey and everything, just no pattern ;_;

Pony Corral / Re: So, blind bags...does everyone want them?

I love them :) I think my favorite thing is the color combinations. So many more unique colors and combinations than the regular brushables! And we're also seeing some popular background characters that we haven't gotten as brushables yet. (Roseluck! ) I also just like having a lot of ponies. I like to look at them, I like to play around with them absentmindedly when I'm working on other things, I like to decorate my room with them...blind bag ponies are just really good for all those things :) I really do wish there was more of a variety of poses though...I can't help but think of the corresponding main 6 character every time I see them. A couple of more generic pony styles would be WONDERFUL.

I can totally understand how they might not be everyone's cup of tea though. And you definitely shouldn't feel like you're forcing yourself to buy them. If you're not sure that you really want one or are afraid of collecting things you don't need, just hold off for a while and see if they grow on you in the meantime.

I hope it'll stay as G3. Like many other people mentioned, there's the size issue with the G4s. Plus, have you seen how poor the quality is on those things? Bad enough on a $5 pony, but on an expensive fair pony with a fancy design, there's more opportunity for flaws and there are more people who are going to notice, since mainly it will be collectors buying.

I wouldn't be too terribly surprised if the ComicCon pony was a 4 this year though. Since they've been catering so much to bronies lately. If they do that, I do hope that they at least use a fashion style G4 :P

Haha, well I'm glad it was just a mix-up! I just found them at my TRU today and the bags matched the guide :)

Be careful with dryer sheets. If you stuff them inside the pony you are fine, but if you stick the pony in a baggie with the dryer sheet, it can harm the paint. I've messed up 2 ponies that way....

Yes....and it does something odd to their hair as well if left lying against them...sorry should have mentioned the "inside only"

Really? I wonder why that is? I used a dryer sheet on a G2 I had that smelled like cigarette smoke. I just draped it across her and folded it through her legs to keep it in place, so it was definitely touching her hair and probably her symbols too. She was like that for a good couple of months at least, and I didn't notice anything wrong with her afterward? Got rid of the cigarette smell too :)

I don't think Hasbro would change around the numbering system just because a handful of people on the internet figured out which numbers correspond with which ponies...Especially since, from the sound of things, the blind bags are selling out anyway. If people are going to buy them all anyway, why should Hasbro care if a few people know which ones they're buying? And even if that were the case, I don't think it would be fair to blame the internet...after all, you were trying to use that information too :P Hopefully your mismatched box was just a random mistake :(

Pony Corral / Re: G4s in thrift stores!
« on: January 28, 2012, 12:05:18 PM »
I ALSO found a talking Princess Celestia last week. Maybe kids are just sick of "My barrettes are SO pretty!" :D

What? How can you get sick of THAT? :P I just love how ridiculously out of character and conceited she is!

I can't believe so many of you are finding G4s in thrift shops already! I found a styling Rarity a few months ago, and was shocked to see such a new pony who was already being gotten rid of. I figured she was probably one of the first G4s to hit the secondhand market. Guess not :P

I was going to turn her into a custom Glory, but aside from a little pink highlighter on her ear, she cleaned up to be almost mint, so...now I have two styling Raritys :P

Sounds like fun! Atwater is too far north for me, sadly, but I know there are several other members up that way! Good luck! :)

ut the sweater.   Do you mean like knitted type sweater, or sweatshirt?  I've never sold or had sweaters made, but I do sell sweatshirts on my CafePress store.

Haha, sorry for the confusion-- I use the term sweater to mean sweatshirt. It was a black hooded sweatshirt. I bet it was from your store, then. It looks like it was worn a lot :)

My local WalMart doesn't carry ponies at all anymore, and doesn't have any plans to carry them again  :cloud:  Nearest one is almost an hour away in a town that I only visit once every 6 weeks or so...So I haven't been able to look at all yet :( My local WalMart was the only store in town that carried ponies at all.

Pony Corral / Re: Which blind bags would you like made into brushables?
« on: January 27, 2012, 10:42:29 AM »
I think the one I'd most like to see as a brushable pony is Roseluck. I've just always really liked her colors and symbol. So even though we have Plumsweet, who has very similar coloring...I still really want a Roseluck!

I also voted for Firecracker Burst. Her colors are just so bold and pretty and I love her symbol! Just like Waterfire, who was one of my very favorite G3s.

I also voted Heartstrings. (Who I need to get used to calling Heartstrings rather than Lyra :P ) Like Roseluck, I just really like her colors and symbols.

I voted Sea Swirl too, because I like her symbol.

And I should have voted Cherry Spices, because of her original color, but...I somehow missed her when I voted :P There are just so many really pretty and unique blind bag ponies that would make great brushables! I really hope Hasbro keeps up with their trend of releasing the BBs as brushables....And could you imagine if they released those first 4 boy ponies as brushables? They'd make such a lovely and colorful assortment!

Pony Corral / Re: Prince Cadence & Wedding Castle - now with pics! MERGED

First off, eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee, boy pony!! I never thought this day would come! Do you guys realize that this is the first time we've had a boy pony that was physically different than the girls since the G1 line?? (I love me my G2s, but hey, the only thing that makes Clever Clover a he or Prince Firefly a prince instead of a princess are their backcards :P )

I'm not a fan of the troll hair either. In the picture with it being as thin and whispy as it is, it reminds me of the Phantom of the Opera with his mask off :P But even though my first reaction was "ewww, troll hair!" I don't think it'll be THAT bad in person. I'm more worried about his eyes...but then again, I don't love how they did most of the girl pony's  eyes anyway either. I'd need to see a closer-up picture of him to see for sure. I also don't have a good feel for how his face looks at all, being a small picture and him being white. But I like how they did the blind bag boys, so hopefully he'll be similar to that.

I think his little coat is a snap-on thing. If you look at the pictures, it looks like it sticks out further than it would if it was painted on; it doesn't quite line up right. So while it does look a little dinky (especially compared to how he looks in that adorable picture on the box!) considering that it IS a toy for children, I think that was probably the best way to do it. Sure, I would have loved to have seen a G1 ponywear-style coat that slid on and velcroed in the back, but I think that would have been a little too difficult both to produce and to play with, keeping in mind that G4s are quite a bit smaller than G1s.

Princess Cadence is lovely :) My only complaint is "omg more pink why," but I guess since she is a bride and she is being sold with a playset, the pink is more understandable.

And as for the castle itself...Well, that's not a castle. More like a balcony lol. And yes there isn't much to it. But it is more of a playset than the dinky little things Hasbro has been pumping out lately. It's not just a facade, and there are actually horizontal surfaces that your pony can stand on, whoo! I think its a bit of an improvement. And it's cute. Looks like it could be a good place to display some of my ponies that I ran out of room for on my G4 shelf.

TL;DR: It's not perfect but omg BOY!!!

Pony Corral / Re: Where did you play with your ponies as a child?
« on: January 25, 2012, 11:49:20 AM »
I have few memories of playing with my ponies :( I'm sure I played with them in the house, and probably the yard as well since we have a big yard. I remember I used to carry a little bag with a unicorn on it that had odds and ends like crystals and broken toy horse saddles and stuff in it, so I can only imagine that I must have taken ponies around with me too.

I do know I took ponies to school though :) My best friend at the time and I would play ponies there sometimes. I remember taking Sugarberry to school one day. I didn't like her...not sure if it was because of her colors or because she was so white and her hair had tight original curl...but I brought her because I wouldn't have minded as much if she'd gotten lost or messed up a little. I remember my friend and I playing with them over by some trees on the playground, and another girl laughing at us and saying, "Haha, you guys still play with My Little Ponies?" Psh :P That was back in 4th grade. If she thought 4th grade was too old for ponies, she should see me now! :silly:

Too bad about the figurines. Hopefully the economy will pick up and you'll be able to have a second set made sometime in the future...and if not, it was still an awesome experience, being able to see your characters come to life, yes? :)  But wow, having your art on checks, pretty awesome!

By the way, on the topic of your Little Demons...this seemed really random to me, but I was at a swap meet here in California a couple of months ago, and while I was wandering the booths, I saw a black sweater with a SERIOUSLY worn out and faded design on the front laying across a seller's chair. Being the pony nerd I am, I noticed right away that the shape seemed similar to a pony....and upon closer inspection (seriously, this sweater was REALLY worn out and the design was just barely there) saw that it was one of your Little Demons. I believe it was a seapony. I'd never seen that artwork of yours before, but it was definitely your style and there was the faded-out shape of your logo on the sweater as well...So, not sure if you ever actually sold sweaters or if that was something someone made at home (the seller was busy so I wasn't able to talk to her) but I thought it was pretty crazy to see!
