She definitely feels much more squishy by now, but I don't see a size difference as of yet.

It has started. Peachy has been dunked in the mixture a few minutes ago. I used 50% tap water, and 50 % pure acetone. It smells horribly btw, do this in a well ventilated area.

I'll keep you posted :)

Pony Corral / Re: stupid things sellers do (tell me)

Wrapping a pony in newspaper. During the overseas trip the ink had transferred onto the pony... Not just spots of ink, but actually readable text was on the pony's body! When I contacted the seller to complain, the only reply I got was that the pony was in perfect condition when it left her house. Nice

Those are amazing! I just checked out your facebook page, Baby Lemon Treats and Fizzy are fantastic! This is what that terror aka Newborn Cuties should have looked like.

I have been waiting patiently for the perfect NSS Wind Whistler to show up. Most of the time she has white hair, or very pale faded pink. But I want her with original unfaded pink hair and mint body. I've been considering buying one with at least a mint body and just reroot her, but I keep putting it off.

 >_< I've never seen that on a pony or any other soft vinyl toy, thankfully.

Anyway, the experiment is still going forward. Peachy has turned in her consent form; her body will be donated to science!

It is worth remembering that Warner Bros. once sent a C&D letter to THEMSELVES over a piece of merchandise, talk about a jobs worth.....

:silly: This made me chuckle. That's a whole new level of being in conflict with oneself :D

Mattel gave up the MOTU license so I suspect that would include Shera as well?

Does anyone know who will get the license for the toys? Maybe not known yet?

There are different stories about this. Some claim Mattel sold everything MOTU, and through the years the IP was handed over a lot from one company to the next. All the while, Mattel kept first rights to toys till 2023, but has to pay royalties. Others say that Mattel still holds the rights to MOTU, and only the media rights are not in their hands; those currently belong to Universal.

She-Ra (as a toy) is legally a completely separate brand from MOTU, only connected to MOTU through animation (which belonged to Filmation). If Mattel sold off everything She-Ra as well, they might still have first rights on toys for the upcoming years, just like with He-Man. If they still own She-Ra, they can produce toys based on *their* original more girly (pink/purple/gold) She-Ra design, but if they want to make Dreamworks/Netflix (ex-filmation IP) style based toys, they probably pay royalties .

The legal separation between He-Man and She-Ra probably has something to do with why She-Ra never showed up in the He-Man reboots, and why He-Man is currently not being written into the She-Ra reboot.

Year 1 and Year 2 (minus the sitting pose) don't appeal to me as much as they seem to do to others. MLP was really brought to life as of Year 3 IMO. Oh gosh, I feel like I'm betraying the brand...

I love the She-Ra horses, especially the translucent ones.

Me too. I had a light pink one and a purple one with blue hair that a friend gave me when I was a kid. I'm not sure if they had names.

I found them! :frolic: Crystal Swiftwind and Crystal Moonbeam!

Well I can't watch She-Ra, but I'm hoping you guys can tell me if its any good.

Yep, they all had names. And the crystal versions had a backstory in comic book form, called Through The Crystal Door or something along those lines.

Quite honestly... you are lucky that Disney didn't go after you.

https://trademarks.justia.com/745/58/hakuna-74558335.html (can also look up uspto.gov)
can't put Hakuna Matada on clothing...

Wow. Thanks for the info, didn't know that.

<_<; You are lucky Hasbro doesn't do the same thing. A lot of that looks too similar to their licensed retro vectors, and it's competing against their product.

I am grateful for that, for sure. And I did look up a lot of information on the use of old vectors/characters. I avoid using the actual rainbow logo because that's very much protected. However, the arched title, without rainbow, isn't - it used to be, but it expired. The rainbow title and the plain arched title seem to be two different things. Mind you, I have no knowledge on legal matters of this kind, I go by what I find online. As for the characters, I assume that the old characters that haven't been reinvented (the handful of ponies we see on pretty much all the merch) are fair game, along with the old art style that has been abandoned in favor of the "new" vintage pony look? I have been considering slimming down the number of uploads and focus on the genuine eighties pony style.

I'm not making hunderds of euros/dollars per month with this, contrary to the artists focusing on G4, but I am happy with every sale and even every like that my drawings get. It's a fun hobby.

What, another reboot? I thought the current generation of Care Bears were the ones with the CGI artwork ...

Same, I thought that one was still around.

I'm warming up to the new style quite easily though, and especially love how the blush on the cheeks is different for each individual bear.

I wanted to post this in the "what's your problem" category, but it seems to be off limits. Anyway, the below design was removed from my redbubble shop for copyright infringement as claimed by this company: https://www.loomiloo.de/Turnbeutel-Hakuna-Matata

When I started reading the alert I got regarding the removal, I suspected it to be a Disney claim because of the obvious Lion King reference. But no, some obscure PoD design studio in Germany actually managed to register a common saying like Hakuna Matata (notice the little R next to Hakuna Matata in the title of their offers). The fonts are all completely different, mine even has Fizzy integrated in it. Honestly, trademarking (or registering or whatever) the words Hakuna Matata for prints, and even referencing Timon and Pumbaa in their product discription? It's rediculous. I'm going to let it be, but still I'm amazed at how this legal stuff works sometimes. Hakuna Matata.

Pony Corral / Re: How do you disnplay your baby sea ponies?
« on: May 24, 2018, 10:24:06 AM »
A little off topic, but who knew the floats were squishy?! I always thought they were hard plastic, but I got one and it felt like a pool toy. Yay Hasbro for detail!

Cool, my Sea Shimmer's float was very hard though. Hollow, so it had some minor give, but obviously not intended to be squishy.
