Pretty much. I can make random sounds and sometimes I swear he must be reading my mind since he will bring me something before I've ever asked for it. It's a nice feeling though occasionally, he gets grumpy at me for making him verbalize what he wants (when he thinks I know!).

Off Topic / Re: Craziest Cover Letter I have EVER received at my job.
« on: January 30, 2012, 04:30:44 AM »
I think that the letter is awesome. I also think that what type of cover letter a person writes probably depends on the job they are seeking. I know in my field that, even though most psychologists have a good sense of humor, if I submitted that I would never get a second look.

Hopefully though, the guy does well because that will most certainly get him a second look!

I like it! I think it looks pretty darn awesome.

Are you planning on making a mould from it?

Yay for Birthday! Boo for being sick.

Glad that you were able to do something early (it's always helpful!) but I hope that you get to feeling better soon!

Am I Hungry? by Dr. Michelle May. She's a nutritionist that specialized in helping people get back in touch with their intuitive eating cycle rather than dieting. I've found it to be really informative and it certainly has helped me stop 'emotional' eating as much.

Sometime I will be doing Yoga x3 a week, but I'll also be doing Zumba as well on Tues/Thurs,
SurfStar......Do you have the Zumba video game?  Or is it a class?  Do you like it?    My friend has Zumba the video game and said she likes it so I thought I would get it to.  And when I searched it on ebay I found that there is a Zumba and a Zumba 2.  So I'm not sure which to get.

Heyo,

I have access to both. Since I'm a military spouse they offer free classes here x2 a week. However, I rarely can make them since my schedule is usually too hectic. I DO have the video game and that's likely what I will be using. I've just got the Zumba video game for my Wii. I enjoy it but since I've taken classes the routine isn't too bad, honestly I find I get MORE of a workout when I'm using my Wii than when I go to the classes.

The Zumba 2, from the reviews I read on Amazon, seems like it would be better geared towards beginners since it's better with the tutorials and has a semi-slower pace. I couldn't tell you for sure though. I also alternate with the various 'Just Dance' titles and I have a couple of other good dance games. I just prefer those since it doesn't feel like I am 'working out' as it were. They also don't require anything but the Wiimote.

And for myself, I either want to exercise straight away in the morning or later in the evening (7-8ish) so I can just shower once that day. I hate having to shower in the MIDDLE of my day, so I generally try and time it around my normal morning or evening shower. I sweat buckets when doing Zumba, so that's also something to keep in mind.

If you decide to pick it up I'd be happy to share friendcodes with you and see if we could schedule 'workout' times that would work for us both =) What better way to get motivated than work out with friends! (This goes for everyone, I'm more than happy to share my Wii friendcode on Just Dance, Zumba, or anything else since I have Wii Fit and a couple of others that I like to use)

Crowing-glory:

They make 100 cal snack packs, though I buy the bigger normal size boxes and parcel out serving sizes to keep in my purse. That way I have something on hand when I'm feeling snacky. If you're not allergic to nuts that might also work since they are a 'healthy' fat. Just try and aim for a small handful at a time, eat them slowly and count to 30 between bites. That helps give your body time to catch up with you and tell your brain you're not hungry anymore.

I was browsing my Target today and noticed that there was an Operetta and 2 Nefera's in anyone wants them. Please let me know (preferably by PM). I'll pick them up and ship them for Cost +shipping.

I'm cool with Deboxing if that works for you too. =)

I personally love White Cap, she reminds me of the seapony version of Glory.

Age: 28
Height: 5'1"
Weight: 190

Measurements using tape measure -
Chest: 33.5 (Not bust, like band right?)
Waist: 36.5"
Hips: 48"

GOALS
1.) What is your goal weight?
I would like to get back between 130-115, it's a healthier weight for me and I miss the enjoyment of clothes shopping and my body image.
2.) What are your goal inches?
I haven't really thought about it honestly. I guess I'd like to get back down to a 32" bra size and a size 7ish in pants/skirts. I'm not sure where those measurements fall. I'm more focused on feeling healthy.
3.) What habits do you want to break?
Not eating emotionally. I tend to fall prey to cravings and wait too long to eat so I then eat mindlessly. I want to be able to eat when I am hungry and know when to stop eating.
4.) What habits do you want to develop?
More fruits and veggies and less carbs. Though I am borderline vegetarian (too much protien makes me very sick) I know that I eat more carbs than I should.

PLAN
1.) What program will you be following (this is important, you need a PLAN for success, so be detailed)?  This includes how many days per week you are exercising... how many minutes/hour(s) you are exercising that day... WHAT type of exercising you are doing... etc.
I'm not really following a set PLAN as it were but I have made some S.M.A.R.T goals (Specfic, Measurable, Attainable, Relevant, and Timely).

S/M/A: Focus on losing 1 lb per week and 4lbs per month. Include at least 2 vegetable servings per lunch and dinner and 3 fruit servings over the day. Focus on having 1 glass of water with each meal and snack. Plan meals ahead of time to cut down on grocery bills and mindless (emotional) eating. Do a Mind-Body scan before eating (Ask: Am I hungry?). Walk with my dog at least 30 minutes each day, if raining walk 30 minutes on my treadmill.
Relevant: Goals are specific and allow me to incorporate them into my everyday lifestyle with minimal changes but a good output.
Timely: Will be able to implement them with ease, but also allow for reasonable tracking of successes.

2.) What steps are you going to take to improve your nutrition?
Planning for more vegetables by planning my meals ahead of time. Making sure that I have things available that are 'healthy' to snack on to avoid over-eating or emotional eating on my part. Starting a weight loss blog where I can chatter and share different things that have worked for me

WHY
What are your reasons for wanting to get into better shape and play with us in this journey?

I'd like to be healthier. There are a lot of weight related health risks that run in my family and I'd like to get a handle on them before they become serious issues for me. I've been heavy since puberty (about 13) and I liked being thinner and had less body image issues when I was. I'm doing this for me, but primarily because I am flexible enough to change NOW and I want to before I have serious health issues associated with it.

Sometime I will be doing Yoga x3 a week, but I'll also be doing Zumba as well on Tues/Thurs, however since I am waiting for my school schedule to even out I only included those fitness goals I KNOW I can currently do.

This will be my first ATC swap here on the arena. =) I'm hoping that this will go over well.

*My Resolution is:

To eat healthier and be more emotionally stable. Learn to enjoy life around me and stop worrying so much about things outside of my control.
*What theme(s) you would want: Stars, carousel ponies, sea themes
*What Gen pony you prefer (if you care): Nope, have at-em. I like all ponies.
*If you prefer traditional or digital art *: No preference here either. I like digital and traditional art.
If you would be willing to be a *wild card*: Not this time. I want to see how well I can manage the two cards with my course load.

Off Topic / Re: Curious: how did you choose your user name?
« on: January 19, 2012, 08:48:52 AM »
Surfstar was the pony I liked the best from the G3 line and I wanted a pony name when I got tired of being TAFSeashell (which I was for years and years - I joined the original MLPTP in 96). Everywhere else on the interwebs I go by Cyzzane though. It's a combination of names of my favorite characters from Final Fantasy 7 and 9.

Which feature about this new board is confusing you the most? None really, I'm on another board that utilizes a lot of the same features.
ARE YOU AS SCARED OF THIS PHOTOBUCKET WINDOW AS I AM?! .... Not terribly. It's weird but not scary.
How excited are you right now that the Arena is back?! Pretty excited, it was so hard not browsing the arena at least once a day.
